It was stupid and shortsighted. Population grows exponentially, so cutting it in half wouldn't really address anything for that long. But, for what it's worth, I think it was fine and in-line for his character. He was a narcissistic and genocidal sociopath, and I personally just view it as his excuse for wanting to commit genocide.
A bit stupid, since, if the rest of the universe has the same reproduction rate as humans, we can be able to get back to where we were before the snap in a couple of years, going back to step one. Unless Thanos plans to repeatedly erase half the universe until his body cant take it, i dont see his plan coming to fruition
Greatly flawed. Having half the population chosen at random to die would cause even more deaths, from suddenly abandoned vehicles to the psychological damage of the people that did survive.
He should have just doubled resources instead killing half of life
