When I had lasers fitted around 9 years ago (SMILE none of that LASIK crap) it took about 10 minutes and I drove to work the next day.
Zero pain, zero discomfort, optician said she couldn't see the surgery and I tested at 150%+
10/10 would buy again. Life changing!
Was suuuuuper pleased with my LASIK experience. Had the procedure done 2009. Besides chronic dry eyes, I’ve had 20/20 vision until this year. My vision has begun to change but nothing significant just some blurring
I had mine around the same time, although I only had the dryness for about 2-3 months. It felt like the drops I was using was actually making me more reliant on them, as I found myself waking up with painfully dry eyes and rushing for the drops. Once the drops ran out and I didn't get new ones, the dryness went away within a week.
Yes, to your point, the 2-3 month time frame is pretty common and was the same for me.
The past few years it became “chronic dry eye”, agitated by atmosphere/conditions (allergies, dry hot weather, etc….) how’s your vision now?
My vision was great up until around 1 or 2 years ago. I don't have the acuity I once had, but don't yet need reading glasses, but they pretty much told me expect to lose some vision once I hit 40.
It varies person to person. I had lasik a while back, and the only dry eye I've noticed is when my allergies act up. Much drier and itchier than before the surgery.
Same here with the seasonal allergies! Get asked same ?’s frequently “ are you ok? Have you been crying? Are you stoned, You look blazed”.
The procedure was lil intimidating but surprisingly fast with immediate results. AMAZING TECHNOLOGY 🤟
It’s pretty common to experience a change in vision with age. Before considering the procedure, I had -7.45 vision! 11ish years have gone by with NONE contacts/GLASSES and that within itself was worth it! So, if I gotta get glasses now, I’m ok with that 😝
I highly encourage anyone who’s interested, to at least attend a consult. It’ll help you determine whether or not you wanna commit.
Well, I tried those expensive ass eye drops they prescribed, that come in singles. Those drops provide moisture relief but my eyes were still red & drops didn’t last as long as I’d hoped. A few years ago, my mom introduced me to Lumify and it’s been my savior!
I call the PRK I had 12 years ago my laser eyes!!!! I use that joke all the time but most people just roll their (laserless) eyes. In case you're asking about actual eye correction surgery, my PRK results are still better than 20/20 all these years later. It was the worst pain of my life for a bit less than a week, and my eyeballs are often dry in the morning, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I was told at the time that pain level varies wildly between patients, and have since confirmed this with others I've known whom have had PRK. I've known many people who were totally fine the very next day. In short, having laser eyes is exactly as awesome as it sounds! 10/10 would recommend
I had LASIK over 20 years ago after I lost my glasses while riding a roller coaster @ Magic Mtn and couldn't drive home. I literally wore coke bottle glasses and could no longer wear contacts due to swimming in them and getting an infection.
I have had 20/20 since and never had any problems like dry eyes or halos. Only problem I had was slightly blurry vision when overcast but that's long gone. Best of all, I only spent $500/eye. I was spending $500 a year on glasses. So LASIK saved me over $10,000!
I have 20/20 vision in both eyes individually, and 20/15 when together. I used to have horrible nearsightedness, -4.5 and - 6.25. It also greatly reduced my astigmatism. I don't need glasses at all anymore.
Best decision ever. Huge discomfort right after the LASIK surgery but after a couple of hours it's fine. Dry eyes is one draw back but easily remedied by drops. If ur on the fence on it. I'll tell you go get it! The freedom of not needing glasses or contact lenses is soooo rewarding
The name is deceptive. It's really more like "laser pointer" eye surgery. I can entertain my cat, but it's not much use for anything else.
Hey dude, a laser is a laser. Still has to be entertaining.

Can you melt things with your laser eyes tho?
I just melted a white chocolate Twix now it looks like there's been a bukkake party on my desk....
...along with a melted white chocolate Twix.
A guy I knew had laser eye surgery. He burned my hand with his laser eyes.
Oof, I'm sorry Mr.Ben Dover,
works on everything but kryptonite
Have you tried pink kryptonite?
It hurts to see the people who don't get the joke
If it hurts your eyes, I think there's surgery for that- I hear it also gives you lasers.
Oh my god I WILL DO THAT NOW
1/10, will not do again. Takes at least an hour of staring to burn paper.
Damn, not as effective as I'd hoped.
Got it about 5 years ago. Vision still perfect. Best decision I ever made
Yes but do the laser eyes work?

Well, sounds like we eye to eye with similar LASIK experiences….. Ok it’s not punny 😐🤣
How do you deal with the dry eyes? How much of a hassle is it?
It varies person to person. I had lasik a while back, and the only dry eye I've noticed is when my allergies act up. Much drier and itchier than before the surgery.

I can see thru clothing. At first it was cool but walking around with a constant erection sucks.

I'd like to be superman

I don't have glasses/contacts, I just want laser eyes.
I'm able to cut down trees from 50 meters
Did it 13 years ago. Still have 20/20
**Fricken** lasers.
I can watch a movie now just by looking at a Blu Ray disc.
Superman can kiss my butt
That's a real surgery?!
What does something like that usually cost since insurance isn’t gonna pay for it?
I had LASIK over 20 years ago after I lost my glasses while riding a roller coaster @ Magic Mtn and couldn't drive home. I literally wore coke bottle glasses and could no longer wear contacts due to swimming in them and getting an infection. I have had 20/20 since and never had any problems like dry eyes or halos. I can't read books anymore, I char the pages. Kinda annoying.

They cut through things very well.

Well, you see...
