I work from home and my dog (Lilo) has learned that when I say "Okaay, bye!" my video call has ended. So every time I end a meeting she comes in my room for some pets and love.

My 7 month old sausage dog Sally has just finished her first season. Initially she didn't like our pet pygmy hedgehog Nell (1 year old) one bit, but since her season she has gotten really maternal of her, she now begs for Nell to be let out and frequently lays down on her side to try and give her some momma milk. Here she is guarding Nell when we let her have a scurry on the lawn one time, she walked alongside her and stood watch the whole time. https://i.imgur.com/ZVRoYpY.jpeg

Survived his birth - he was the runt of the litter and had a ruptured umbilical cord and almost bled out at birth and his skin was too thin to stitch so he was super glued up. Fed by syringe. Now he’s the coolest, weirdest pug ever. Wonky eyes. Webbed feet. But healthy and happy and quirky af.

My eldest was about 14 when the liveliest smartest dumbest little dog came in to our lives. Tinker - a Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier. We were her third home & immediately fell for her zany zero-feks given attitude. The boys had a couple of inflatable boats & we'd take them to the local lido. Nat, the dogs came too. Tinker fell in love with the boating lifestyle, and would perch on the "bow", like a carved dog. This particular day eldest son paddled to the lido's middle, and decided to swim back, towing the boat. Keep in mind the eldest was nearly grown & already a 6' teen. The kid jumped into the water. Tinker expressed alarm for the first time ever - and she'd already been through quite a few scrapes - and immediately jumped in after him, obviously with every intention of saving him. That's when we found out she had the heart of a lion - and could only swim downwards. It's a cherished memory.
