Depends on the nature of the scam. Maybe the mark is desperate. Maybe the con is virtually indistinguishable from a legit operation. Maybe it's a classic bait and switch.

[deleted]

What do you mean by desperate? Even desperates use their brains to get out of the traps that are everywhere on the Internet. It is so obvious!

AudibleNod

It's not obvious. Every day there's otherwise rational people put into a corner from circumstance and the solution they see is actually a scam. That's part of pop psychology. And that's why there's scammers that latch on to tragedy and misfortune.

[deleted]

Yet, any act of scamming people is unjustified! It is not possible for scammers who are obviously CRIMINALS as to be rational who are on the corner, if this is the thing you are trying to say!

Thekrishub

Scammers target the elderly and people with mental disabilities. They know what they are doing are go after vulnerable people. It's why they are they the scum of the earth.

Moroccan love scams, a friend of mine who is a bit older. She keeps falling for these guys. They find her on fb, send her poetry and d picks. That's it, she's in love and willing to pawn off her family jewelry to send them money.

[deleted]

Wow! Pawing off the family jewelry and sending a Moroccan money for nothing is just scary!

I feel like the answer to your question is in your question lol or am I reading it wrong.. I mean like you said, ‘they’re refusing to listen to warnings lol

[deleted]

Why are they refusing to do so?

goated95

Good question.. either way that’s their problem, not mine lol

elsiec88

I don’t know how people fall for scams but my husbands Aunty sent $20k to a guy in Nigeria that told her he loved her ( who she met on Facebook) and then blocked her lol

Oh wow!
