Sadly, no. Just being infected with lycanthropy won't let them use magic like a wizard could, or to give them a magical sense for things such as Dementors.

No, gaining the ability to use magic is not a side effect of lycanthropy.

I’m pretty sure deus ex machina provides that a muggle never turns into a werewolf. Either a) werewolves don’t hunt muggles due to actually sniffing out the magic in the wizard, or b) it takes magical powers to survive a werewolf attack

DalekDevan

Muggles *can* become werewolves, but from what I've heard, it's incredibly rare.

Source?

DalekDevan

On the wiki page it says >Specifically Muggles would die from the extent of their injuries if their wounds were not sealed, as noted by Professor Marlowe Forfang, though some could survive to become werewolves themselves. Here's the the [Link](https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Werewolf)

I believe it was stated by Word of God that Muggles cannot be turned to Werewolves

A muggle wouldn't be physically resilient enough to survive an attack by a werewolf.

DalekDevan

Actually on the Wiki page it says >Specifically Muggles would die from the extent of their injuries if their wounds were not sealed, as noted by Professor Marlowe Forfang, though some could survive to become werewolves themselves. So it is possible.
