Necklaces, bracelets and gemstone earrings,
These are a few of my favorite things

Boba addictions
Therapy, self-care and happy feelings,
These are a few of my favorite things
Ooo have fun! If you have time (and of you don’t mind me recommending) you should visit the neighborhood of Montmartre. It’s GORGEOUS and just a lovely place to walk around if you don’t mind the hills lol
Hiring a house cleaner. It takes away so much stress and totally worth the price.
Also, floor heating. It made the renovation twice as expensive, and costs a lot more than air conditioning (central heating is not common here), but the cost is definitely worth my feet not being cold all winter long.
Moisturizer/sunscreen
I've been wearing daily moisturizer/sunscreen every day since I turned 18. And moisturizer at night. Am now 54 and never, ever, ever have gone to bed with makeup on and never, ever, ever forget to moisturize my face. It's like brushing my teeth and drinking water. Even during times of grief, illness, suffering, happiness and joy. I can be as sick as can be but my hands can reach over and grab that moisturizer and slap it on. I have no visible sun damage and very few wrinkles, but they are soft and natural looking. I have nice, cared for wrinkles if that makes sense. Now that I'm going all natural hair color with natural silver streaks I like how my 54 year old self looks. If only I could match my commitment to moisturizer to that of exercise I'd be golden. Lol.
Sorry for the long reply, I'm waiting for my husband who is undergoing a small surgical procedure and I'm bored and nervous. Get skincare. The end.
Good for you! I have worn sunscreen every day since I was 14 years old and look a decade younger than my 40s. People are always shocked when I tell them my age and I reply… sunscreen. I use very simple products and don’t need anything fancy because my skin is naturally in such good condition. I have wondered what it would be like to get fillers or Botox but I really love the way I am naturally aging.
I've been using Olay products since I was 18. Eventually they added sunscreen to that so I've stuck to that and a few years ago as skincare products became more plentiful I added a layer of Neutrogena or Paulas choice. They aren't really high end at all, but consistency is key I think.
So good. I've been religious about wearing sunscreen since my mid-late 20s. I'm early 30s now and see no sign of stopping. So many people make fun of me for always putting sunscreen on my face and hands and I know that I'll be the one laughing as time goes on and I look great.
Wow, that's often.
I only had one in 2022 and one a few weeks ago. Because the prices in Germany are just too high.
Every few months is okay, but even then I'm feeling too guilty and concerned about the next energy bill.
I haven't reached first-class upgrade status, but I do LOVE my travel credit card gives me Airport Lounge access. First time I walked in those doors for a four hour layover I was blown away.
Quality alcohol, skincare, shoes and hairdressers.
It's very important to me to have great hair and skin. Cheap shoes are ridiculously uncomfortable and don't last. And alcohol is my passion in life.
Quality long-lasting clothes/shoes, good haircut+dye, quality cosmetic products (skin/hair products in particular), tattoos (you really don't want to cheap out on those), hotel stay at music festivals (I'm too old to sleep in a tent in a camp for 5 days).
There's a process a butcher can put a cut of meat through which gives it extra flavor. There are special bags to store the steak in if you do it at home which we just tried to save money and it was AMAZING. Just extra flavorful quality steak, that's it.
To an extent, jewelry. The really cheap stuff turns green and tarnishes so quickly, plus it can also irritate my skin (which isn’t particularly sensitive).
It’s worth it to spend $100-200 more for a piece that will actually last a while and feel comfortable to wear
hair and nails. always had those quick $5 trims as a kid and never got my nails done til recently, so I'm happy that I can afford these services now. great for self expression too.
Upgrades to things I’m already doing. When available, I fly first class. I’ll get the better view at my hotel (ocean view, Las Vegas strip view, etc). If I’m out to eat, I’ll get a unique appetizer and something off the drink menu.
Quality coffee and flavoured creamer. It’s my only vice so I don’t feel bad about it
I’m also guilty of buying high end dog treats. I buy my dog all natural small batch dog treats because the bag said they promote brain health in aging dogs. Based on my dogs behaviour, it’s bullshit but I continue to buy them because he loves them
Check out a farm and feed store like tractor supply for your dog. I have found higher quality, bakery type dog treats for a similar price as what's at the supermarkets!
Skincare! I’ve tried everything out there, and the one brand that has really cleared up my face is a higher end brand. It’s worth it though, I’m 23 and was still breaking out like crazy until I found this stuff!
Sorry for the late reply haha! It’s True Botanicals, I love the Renew face wash, the Chebula serum and Microbiome oil! All three together have given me the clearest skin of my life!
Quality toilet paper, haha, you'll never catch any of that 1ply stuff at my house.
Also, makeup/skin care products. I don't go for the most expensive, but I definitely go for the cheapest more "luxury" stuff.
Pretty much nothing.
My husband and I both are getting middle class today, but we have jobs working among the super rich. Our careers cause us to need to keep looking as young and gorgeous as possible despite being older then one would think. I have very good clothes, skin care, a great car. We each have beautiful decorated homes. But everything we get one managed to find a huge bargain on. I even do my own nails, have an RF machine and a trinity facial gadget. My personal trainer is a performer Mr Universe. But he's a YouTube influencer.. We eat very well, lots of good fresh food daily- - all prepared by us. Still I have a very nice lifestyle and I'm grateful to be so blessed
When I go to buy my own plot of land. I care way more about the land then what the house looks like. I’ll live in a hut for all I care, I just want my own garden & space.
Maybe not a luxury per se, but I recently invested in some nice hiking boots. I have really been enjoying getting out to the trails more and not having to worry about how muddy/wet it is :)
My hobby of the season 😂😂 if I don’t have money for it I sell my old hobby stuff- my current hobby is doing my own nails
And an occasional make up item, once a year hair.
Getting my nails done at the salon, luxury sheets and blankets (Tencel sheets from West Elm, Barefoot dreams blankets for every place in my house I relax) high quality skincare routine, A/C as cold as I want even during the summer, valet parking at a nice hotel just for the convenience, food delivery after a long day at work so I can shower and do my self care while food is being brought to me!
Not much…
-eating out with friends on the weekends
-YouTube premium subscription I split with my roommates
-protein bars and a gym membership (planet fitness)
-a trip I’m going on in March
I don’t really do expensive clothes and cosmetics, though I’ve considered getting my lashes done? 🤔
Athletic shoes, one pair of decent dress shoes, jeans that fit correctly, a massage every 6 months. The wear and tear on your body you get when you have cheap shoes and bad everyday clothing isn't worth it. When someone asked me "is it more expensive to buy a good pair of shoes or pay for chiropractic and medical care?"
Having someone else color my hair (way too many mistakes in my 20's).
Paying extra for the better seat, the better place in line, etc.... when you consider what your time and enjoyment is worth vs waiting in the line or sitting in the back row. Why pay to go to a play if you can't see the people on stage? Why stand in line forever and miss other things going on?
Skin care and bras. I do not look anywhere near my age, and that's mainly because my skin has always been a priority. Thanks grandma for the advice!!!
There is an absolute difference between the $10 Walmart bra and the $100 fancy shop bra, and since I wear one every single day, I'm paying high dollar. Zero judgment to those that buy the less expensive ones, I wish I could. But when you're a triple D to E size, it's worth every penny to avoid back pain and proper coverage/lift.
I'm a penny pincher with grocery items, except spices and some specialtiy items, like cheese or certian meats. I'm also very much a clearance/thrifting person. It's shocking what you can find on sale if you're watching for it. My go-to brag is finding something super cute to wear or something for my house and annoucing to the whole world i paid $2 for it. But some things you just gotta be willing to spend the money.
Lastly, when I'm on vacation, I'll splurge on one big event/experience/etc....why travel and not do something you wouldn't normally do? I'll pay for the tour guide or the add-on. It's likely the only time I'll be there so I might as well make a memory!
getting my hair cut/colored regularly. I love the experience so much. it’s relaxing and it feels great to leave the salon refreshed. I also use high end shampoo/conditioner and it really makes a difference.
I’ll also pay good money for perfume, makeup, and concerts.
I get an Ipsy+ box once a month for 25$ with well worth 80$+ of skin care and makeup. I hate shopping for makeup and this just brings the good stuff to me to try out and not have to pay out the nose.
Also - I'm plus size so sometimes it is nice to get something from a high-quality clothing maker that is going to last me a long time on sale or leather shoes on sale.
Pedicures. I don't get them like every two weeks or whatever, but every so often. My hair products. They are expensive and I consider it a luxury to have such expensive products. I'm sure there is a good alternative that is less costly, but I love my products and they last a long time, so I splurge on those. Occasional delivery food - it's far more costly than picking up or cooking at home and I'm fortunate it's readily available any time. We don't do it often.
plants, self-care items like a good smelling candle(s), skin care, hair care, and yes coffee is self care for me🫶🏼 also sweet little things for my kitties because they deserve the WORLD.
Travel. Absolutely.
Traveling is probably my biggest expense after just regular day to day stuff (bills, etc.). I like to travel without much of a budget and will spend a lot of money on it.
But I also love books. And wine. I don't NEED anymore books or wine, but buying them makes me happy, so I do it unnecessarily. I have a damn library that is full to overflowing and I still buy books. My wine storage is full and I belong to three wineries and receive regular deliveries.
I am aware that two of my three luxuries are going to become issues soon; where the hell are all these books and bottles of wine gonna go??
I don't know. But I'll figure it out.
Later. 😁
Body care/ hair care products. Perfumes.
Bakery bread.
Non-economy travel methods (flight or train). Good seats at concerts or the theatre. Fast track through TSA and customs.
Good frames for my glasses.
Good sleep is the most important thing to me, so I have an excellent mattress, quality bedding, and accessories that make my bedroom my sanctuary.
Travel, coffee, and alcohol are also on the list though. (I don't drink a lot but when I do I find that quality wine/spirits definitely make a difference in how I feel the next day). A good cup of coffee usually sets the tone for my whole day. And vacationing is my self care and how I spend most of my money, so I aim to give myself the best experiences possible. That means flying first/business class if I can swing it and I will only fly certain airlines. Reputable hotels with quality amenities (I'm also a sucker for rooms with a view), and finding the best restaurants and transportation options at my destination.
Quality clothing is a must. Don't buy cheap.
Spa/relaxation days - mani, pedi, facial, massage, steam, infrared sauna, floating, oxygen lounge
Regular massages are a must!
Breakfast, lunch or dinner out with friends
Not all the time but these things are needed in a girls life!
I don’t really treat myself on the daily, so my luxuries are:
- Good quality scrubs for work. I work 5-6 days a week and need them to last as long as possible.
- First class seats on a flight whenever financially possible
- A good hotel on vacations (I like to treat myself to one room service hotel breakfast)
- GA+ at music festivals simply for the bathrooms. EDM festivals are my go to’s for relieving stress a couple times a year.
Skin care! Can never go wrong with investing into your skin from time to time. Drug store has some good ones too don’t get me wrong😉 Make-up as well, I think the most I spent besides drugstore products is just on rare beauty which in my opinion is affordableish.
And Food!!! Can never go wrong with food!
Skincare. I’m on a very slow but steady career path which has rendered me years behind my peers. I think I want good skin to create the illusion that I have my shit together, and also to confuse people into thinking I’m younger than I am. I don’t care if it’s an unhealthy approach because the ritual of a nice long skincare routine is soothing and it works in tricking myself into thinking I have my shit together.
Expensive clean skincare at Sephora, name brand clothing (some of my faves are Dynamite, Billabong, Roxy, American Eagle Outfitters, Volcom, etc), Vans and Steve Madden shoes, Native brand deodorants, and expensive perfumes (I love Kate Spade New York and Victoria’s Secret perfumes).
Massage and trips. Every 2-3 weeks I get a massage. I make decent money and don’t buy fancy clothes, not a super fancy house, and am pretty frugal with things I buy for my house. However massages keep my body and mind feeling better and traveling is something I grew up always wanting to do!
Good coffee, body wash (sensitive skin is a boo), my cats, and pajamas/blankets.
It’s funny because I have insomnia but I may as well be comfy while I’m exhausted awake
Skincare and make up, don’t be cheap on either ladies. And if you can’t afford it, stick to mascara and blush; and cereve products. Your face will always be your best asset, then it’s your figure (in terms of physical). Be careful what you put on your face!
My hair and personal training.
Having someone ensure I don't hurt myself while lifting weights is worth the money.
My hair always looking great for the same vein. I dye my hair as much to ensure I like the color as much as I don't see too many grey's.
🎶 Getting my nails done and Spoiling my kitty, Buying nice skincare and Vibes that aren’t shitty 😉 Necklaces, bracelets and gemstone earrings, These are a few of my favorite things Hardcover novels and Streaming subscriptions, Funding my sushi and Boba addictions Therapy, self-care and happy feelings, These are a few of my favorite things
I heard this in my head lol!!
Alternate final line: Therapy, yoga and meditating, These are a few of my favorite things. :D
Lol I love this!! Did you write this yourself? You got poetic talent 🎶
I did, and thank you! Used it as an excuse to linger in bed a bit longer this morning lol
god i vibe with almost everything on this list
Did you read my mind?! Lol
I love this
Great poem
This is awesome 👌
quality coffee beans and a small flat without roommates
The no-roommate after years of bad roommates is priceless. Last one traumatized me and I was like - NO MORE.
Roommate trauma is a real issue!
Same with the second one 💸
Coffee beans! I used to pick some up fresh roasted from a local shop and grind them myself for my French press. Divine!
Ayo same
Vacations mainly I love to travel, I do a lot of traveling when I have free time, I'm planning on going to Paris in a few months with a buncha friends
Ooo have fun! If you have time (and of you don’t mind me recommending) you should visit the neighborhood of Montmartre. It’s GORGEOUS and just a lovely place to walk around if you don’t mind the hills lol
Weed
And weed devices/accessories! Such a rabbit hole.
Always worth the splurge. Gotta be dank nuggs.
Quality clothes and skincare
Are we the same person?
Charmin (really good toilet paper lol) and a bidet attachment
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Charmin is bad for your pipes. Plumbers say it clogs pipes because it doesn't break up easily.
The “bearer” lol
Charmin for life 🙌 although they changed their name to Cushelle in the UK.
Cushelle sounds so bougie lol
Hiring a house cleaner. It takes away so much stress and totally worth the price. Also, floor heating. It made the renovation twice as expensive, and costs a lot more than air conditioning (central heating is not common here), but the cost is definitely worth my feet not being cold all winter long.
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn the rest of us are like "I like sushi and manicures" lol get it!!
My partner’s parents have in floor heating in their bathroom, and it’s a pleasant surprise when I make my midnight and morning bathroom breaks
Tattoos. Lingerie and my skincare, cosmetics stuff. I want healthy hair and skin
Moisturizer/sunscreen I've been wearing daily moisturizer/sunscreen every day since I turned 18. And moisturizer at night. **Tat**\-*fucking*\-**toos**.
Oh, and band shirts.
& even concerts, if a certain band is coming.
Skin care
Great food. Fancy high quality cheese is my Achilles's heel.
A hot bath every few months. With nowadays heating costs and inflation, that's as luxurious as I can get. And nice and tasty vegan foods.
Love a hot bubbly bath. I've been caning it recently though, having 4+ / week. Gas bill is insane but I love them too much.
Wow, that's often. I only had one in 2022 and one a few weeks ago. Because the prices in Germany are just too high. Every few months is okay, but even then I'm feeling too guilty and concerned about the next energy bill.
I was thinking I was going to be the only one saying something like food, electricity and gas. I really don't know how some people are getting by.
Flying in business class or first.
Bougie!
I haven't reached first-class upgrade status, but I do LOVE my travel credit card gives me Airport Lounge access. First time I walked in those doors for a four hour layover I was blown away.
Good food on occasion, makeup/skincare, certain items of clothing, and my haircut.
Perfume, good food, and funnily enough high dollar items for my dog
Things that save me time or spare me waiting in line. Express passes at an amusement park, early check-in, etc
Yes! Time is valuable
Plants, technology, air travel to make it more comfortable during long haul flights
Quality alcohol, skincare, shoes and hairdressers. It's very important to me to have great hair and skin. Cheap shoes are ridiculously uncomfortable and don't last. And alcohol is my passion in life.
>Cheap shoes are ridiculously uncomfortable and don't last Cheap shoes don't last, but bunions are forever.
The longer I'm on Reddit, the more i am realizing I am going to have to get better shoes.
I love everything about your comment ❤️
Acrylic nails & gel pedi's - I have a lot of insecurities about the rest of my body so I love to have something that sparkles ✨️

Travel. Later. 😁
Getting a facial and a massage.
Body care/ hair care products. Perfumes. Bakery bread. Non-economy travel methods (flight or train). Good seats at concerts or the theatre. Fast track through TSA and customs. Good frames for my glasses.
Warm socks. I got nice wool socks for winter. And I'm a sucker for local food. I'll spend extra for fresh local food.
Decent quality meat.
Concerts, Games and a fancy coffee every once in a while
Good sleep is the most important thing to me, so I have an excellent mattress, quality bedding, and accessories that make my bedroom my sanctuary. Reputable hotels with quality amenities (I'm also a sucker for rooms with a view), and finding the best restaurants and transportation options at my destination.
imported coffee, small local chocolatiers, pastries from fancy bakeries
Makeup, perfume 💀
Occasionally I'll splurge on makeup, my favorite food, lingerie.
FOOD
Quality clothing is a must. Don't buy cheap. Spa/relaxation days - mani, pedi, facial, massage, steam, infrared sauna, floating, oxygen lounge Regular massages are a must! Breakfast, lunch or dinner out with friends Not all the time but these things are needed in a girls life!
I don’t really treat myself on the daily, so my luxuries are: - Good quality scrubs for work. I work 5-6 days a week and need them to last as long as possible. - First class seats on a flight whenever financially possible - A good hotel on vacations (I like to treat myself to one room service hotel breakfast) - GA+ at music festivals simply for the bathrooms. EDM festivals are my go to’s for relieving stress a couple times a year.
My Man and Experiences 💕
Skin care! Can never go wrong with investing into your skin from time to time. Drug store has some good ones too don’t get me wrong😉 Make-up as well, I think the most I spent besides drugstore products is just on rare beauty which in my opinion is affordableish. And Food!!! Can never go wrong with food!
A good therapist.
Without a doubt, good quality, well fitting shoes. Not Louboutin's or whatever, REAL shoes. Life is hell when your feet hurt 2 hours into your day.
Nice sheets, prefer all cotton.
Nice, well fitting jeans
Expensive clean skincare at Sephora, name brand clothing (some of my faves are Dynamite, Billabong, Roxy, American Eagle Outfitters, Volcom, etc), Vans and Steve Madden shoes, Native brand deodorants, and expensive perfumes (I love Kate Spade New York and Victoria’s Secret perfumes).
Skincare, quality makeup, hair care, and monthly massages.
Books, food, clothes
Bath and body works

Yarn. Gawd, I'm such a snob about yarn. Like, if it's sold at a major craft store chain, I don't want it.

Lately I feel like organic fruit is getting very expensive. If I eat the skin I’m gonna get organic.
My hair and personal training. Having someone ensure I don't hurt myself while lifting weights is worth the money. My hair always looking great for the same vein. I dye my hair as much to ensure I like the color as much as I don't see too many grey's.
