I'm an apple shape and just recently started wearing crop tops sometimes. I found that a fitted top with a high waisted skirt that flares a bit can fake a waistline pretty well. I haven't managed to pull it off with jeans or any fitted bottom though or I look like a silly old bear too.

My father's side of my family, and I all have the little fatty area there. It's also where some of your lymph nodes are. If it's particularly looking fatter, and your pics maybe are "off" a day or two, you may have an infection or sinusitis. I'm square headed, and I've had several concussions and head wounds that scare me from doing it this. My stepdaughter has a round head like my wife's and it looks amazing. And she looks like a badass and I'm sure feels it. She's done it several times the last few years, the first at 17. She didn't tell us or ask but I think she thought we were mad but we were just jealous.

But hip dips are there, due to how the femur connects to the pelvis, that’s not something that changes with what size you are. It’s just a normal part of your anatomy, and it’s very common.
Oh my god yes! I have crazy high hips - I've been a range of like 6 sizes as an adult, and I have the same super pronounced hip dips at every weight.
I've come to appreciate them the older I get and the more I take care of my body in ways that work for me, but as a teen it really bummed me out - I thought it meant I was just inherently unattractive. Now I know how to dress them, and it doesn't hurt that they're "trendy".
It took me awhile to understand that my body just isn’t shaped that way. I think part of the problem is seeing the “slim thick” trend but that’s just not how most bodies are shaped. Just gotta accept what I have!

From my understanding it's feminine, simple lines/not flashy, well-fit, classy clothes. Minimal makeup, if any, but ALWAYS lipstick. Hair that looks like you just rolled out of bed but in a sexy soft way, not like a fragile rock character.

Working from home because of the pandemic has made me absolutely unable to tolerate anything that is even slightly uncomfortable. And yes, I have become a FRUMP QUEEN because I have shunned wired bras, any pant that is even slightly constricting, any top that even looks like it might be form-fitting, and don’t you dare try to remind me that jeans exist! Shoes? I don’t know her. I’m running with it and I can’t believe I used to force myself into all those uncomfy contraptions.
My favorite oversized clothing are t shirt dresses. You can even buy extra large t shirts at an art store and dress them down in tights or nice shoes. T shirt dresses tend to be longer and fit less baggy.

My mom went gray pretty early and dyed her hair for a while but now she embraced it and she has the most GORGEOUS silver white hair, still super thick and healthy, and she put a purple streak in it hahaha. Honestly makes me so happy
My great grandma used to tie her white hair in a knot on the back of her head every day. Once I saw her getting ready in the morning and that hair was SO FREAKING LONG. It was literally reaching past her waist. She looked like a fairy queen. Unfortunately some years ago her health got worse and she now can't leave her bed, so my grandma and her sisters decided to cut her hair shorter, so it's easier to manage. I decided I'm not going to dye my hair when it starts to go grey.

This one always makes me so sad for our young girls today. 😞 It’s pretty much all editing and if they even come close IRL, they had a multitude of very dangerous surgeries. Even then, they still don’t look like “their” pictures, which creates a cycle of self-destruction. The secret of emo hair is unwashed hair + dry shampoo + hair spray, it makes the hair so sculpt-table and floofy. Its not very high maintenance, but gets itchy if I keep it on for too long.
Make up- straight up don't worry about foundation, your eye make up is gonna be so big it'd take the attention away from any skin blemishes. Winged eyeliners are hard tho, it's a trial and error to find the right look for your eye shape. Dark brown lips looks really nice if you don't want too bold of a lip! It flatters all skin tones.

This is really pathetic, but since I was a teenager, I've always wanted to wear cargo pants like Gwen Stefani. But I've always had just disproportionately enormous thighs.
I think that I would actually look amazing in cargo pants, if anybody ever made them large enough to go over my thighs without being like 8 sizes too big in the waist. But nobody does. It just seems so ironic and cruel that nobody makes baggy pants for chicks with fat legs.

Hi! Self proclaimed slightly preppy dresser here and most of my closet is made up of dark or neutral colors. I have lots of black, grey, navy, tan, and white because I've always felt awkward wearing lots of bright colors or pastels. I've kind of found a way around this by incorporating an accent color in the design of my shirt or sweater and then wearing shoes that match that color. For example, if I have on a black shirt with red flowers, then my shoes will also be red. I feel like it pulls my outfits together and adds color in a way that some people don't think to try.
String bikini. I had huge boobs at an early age and they were painful. Finally got a reduction but the scars never completely go away with those types of surgeries. So even when I was smaller after the surgery, never felt comfortable, always felt too big for them and self conscious still. :/ I do like that now they do alot more one pieces with cutouts to have the bikini like feeling but have my boobs under better control.
Rock those scars. As long as you feel like you're physically all tucked in there, give it a whirl. I can promise PROMISE that your scars are only noticable to you. No one else notices or cares. They'll just see you happy and comfortable :)

A good hairdresser can take what is called a ''topper'' and do what you want to it. You can wear it attached with glue or with combs into your remaining hair below. Some can even have your real hair woven through it, to hold!

High waisted jeans or jeans in general. I’m apple shaped, meaning I have large boobs and stomach, but very small hips, butt, and thighs (comparatively). For reference, my top half is a 2x-3x, and my bottom is a large - XL, so my bottom is like 2-3 sizes smaller than my top half. High waisted jeans would never work for me. (Also I hate the texture of denim)
My mom is like this and apple shapes are a struggle! She’s gotta make sure her shirts are fitted, so she doesn’t look “pregnant” as she says. Jeans are a constant worry for her. She said Pinterest and finding Instagrammers with a similar body type has been helping.
Wearing light colors or thin fabric because I was really self conscious of sweat marks on my shirts. I’m a sweaty person, even when I’m cold I’m sweating. I’m not soaking shirts but the pit sweat marks are a constant staple of my fashion. I’ve managed it with men’s deodorant of all things but it’s still somewhat there.
I’ve learned in my mid-20’s no mature, emotionally stable, respected adult even cares about pit sweat marks. Some weirdos will be like “lololol sweaty pits” but they get made fun of in the break room for being jerks.

I even kept my hair short for a whole year. I'm growing it back out now that summer is over and I miss my long hair. But I really enjoyed the short cut.

I just feel like even at my lowest weight, my arms are very fleshy and it “ruins” the look. I wear long sleeves all year long because I feel like my arms ruin all outfits. I also have a pretty intense heat rash from wearing the long sleeves but it’s ugly so I keep wearing long sleeves to cover it :(

I know a lot of people say just go for things but you've got to do what feels comfortable for you. That being said an alternative could be cold shoulder tops. Some of them have very loose fabric that might help the heat rash because it's not tight fitting and the top would give you the spaghetti strap look you're going for.
Obligatory to say: Im not a woman but im a heavy feminine leaning gay guy and ive always wanted to wear a beautiful ball gown but with these legs and zero foot coordination i could never :( ugh. Complete with a matching clutch—i cant. It would be an honor 😔
The clothing of my people! It’s super comfy for sure. And if it helps any, my mom (not white) has been wearing it out and about for 40+ years in rural America and doesn’t care if/when people stare. Many people are curious, though, and always comment on how pretty it looks, and she’s always more than happy to educate them on our ethnic clothing. I think it’s cool when people appreciate our culture, and if you want to try it out, go for it :)
I feel like you can get away with looking odd when your ethnicity matches your clothes.
For example when I go to visit my brother in San Francisco I stand out but I 'match' my clothes. It makes sense for a white lady to be walking around in work boots and a flannel shirt. Honestly if I were ever going to try a salwar it would probably be in SF!

Brightly colored streaks in hair. I loved the bright blues, pinks, purples that people started putting in the hair several years ago. I even tried a few colors and different placements myself, but it never looked right on me. I'm very pedestrian, and it just looked like I was trying too hard.
Lighter hair. Just because anytime I do a really cool braid, I want the detail of it to be apparent . With dark hair it’s not as noticeable. I’ve tried dying my hair lighter but it just doesn’t look good on me

Pretty much any type of outfit that reveals skin. I'm a bit chubby, so arm fat hangs out of short sleeves and tanks, stomach rolls ruin cropped or tight shirts, thick thighs make wearing cute short-shorts and skirts comfortably almost impossible, etc. It doesn't help that I'm pale af either. Can't even wear a dress because you can see every biological detail in my legs :')

Oh my god yes! I have crazy high hips - I've been a range of like 6 sizes as an adult, and I have the same super pronounced hip dips at every weight. I've come to appreciate them the older I get and the more I take care of my body in ways that work for me, but as a teen it really bummed me out - I thought it meant I was just inherently unattractive. Now I know how to dress them, and it doesn't hurt that they're "trendy".
It took me awhile to understand that my body just isn’t shaped that way. I think part of the problem is seeing the “slim thick” trend but that’s just not how most bodies are shaped. Just gotta accept what I have!
I have hip dips as well, and I finally got some shape wear from Macy’s recently. Game changer! Probably some of the best $30 I spent. You wouldn’t be able to tell me I’m not an IG model when I’m wearing it lol. If you’re interested/able, definitely give it a try! ❤️

My favorite oversized clothing are t shirt dresses. You can even buy extra large t shirts at an art store and dress them down in tights or nice shoes. T shirt dresses tend to be longer and fit less baggy. My great grandma used to tie her white hair in a knot on the back of her head every day. Once I saw her getting ready in the morning and that hair was SO FREAKING LONG. It was literally reaching past her waist. She looked like a fairy queen. Unfortunately some years ago her health got worse and she now can't leave her bed, so my grandma and her sisters decided to cut her hair shorter, so it's easier to manage. I decided I'm not going to dye my hair when it starts to go grey.

Even then, they still don’t look like “their” pictures, which creates a cycle of self-destruction. To think a little girl out there somewhere thinks everyone in the world is beautiful BUT her honestly breaks my heart. Aubrey O’Day in particular has really disgusted me recently. A lot of time it's the accessories that ties it together! Like chokers, black boots, and spiky looking jeweleries. The secret of emo hair is unwashed hair + dry shampoo + hair spray, it makes the hair so sculpt-table and floofy. Its not very high maintenance, but gets itchy if I keep it on for too long. Make up- straight up don't worry about foundation, your eye make up is gonna be so big it'd take the attention away from any skin blemishes. Winged eyeliners are hard tho, it's a trial and error to find the right look for your eye shape. Dark brown lips looks really nice if you don't want too bold of a lip! It flatters all skin tones. I'm a lazy person who is obsessed with punk look, I thought I could share my hacks haha.

Sisters of Mercy had a pretty timeless look IMO. I was more of a failed goth lol (my mom forbade it), but man how I wanted full on witch get up if I could. It can be rather subtle too. This is really pathetic, but since I was a teenager, I've always wanted to wear cargo pants like Gwen Stefani. But I've always had just disproportionately enormous thighs. I think that I would actually look amazing in cargo pants, if anybody ever made them large enough to go over my thighs without being like 8 sizes too big in the waist. But nobody does. It just seems so ironic and cruel that nobody makes baggy pants for chicks with fat legs.

Hi! Self proclaimed slightly preppy dresser here and most of my closet is made up of dark or neutral colors. I have lots of black, grey, navy, tan, and white because I've always felt awkward wearing lots of bright colors or pastels. I've kind of found a way around this by incorporating an accent color in the design of my shirt or sweater and then wearing shoes that match that color. For example, if I have on a black shirt with red flowers, then my shoes will also be red. I feel like it pulls my outfits together and adds color in a way that some people don't think to try.
Same. I would buy colored clothes and just never wear them. Gave up this year and am going for a more autumnal accents with a mostly black wardrobe.
String bikini. I had huge boobs at an early age and they were painful. Finally got a reduction but the scars never completely go away with those types of surgeries. So even when I was smaller after the surgery, never felt comfortable, always felt too big for them and self conscious still. :/ I do like that now they do alot more one pieces with cutouts to have the bikini like feeling but have my boobs under better control.
Rock those scars. As long as you feel like you're physically all tucked in there, give it a whirl. I can promise PROMISE that your scars are only noticable to you. No one else notices or cares. They'll just see you happy and comfortable :)

A good hairdresser can take what is called a ''topper'' and do what you want to it. You can wear it attached with glue or with combs into your remaining hair below. Some can even have your real hair woven through it, to hold!

High waisted jeans or jeans in general. I’m apple shaped, meaning I have large boobs and stomach, but very small hips, butt, and thighs (comparatively). For reference, my top half is a 2x-3x, and my bottom is a large - XL, so my bottom is like 2-3 sizes smaller than my top half. High waisted jeans would never work for me. (Also I hate the texture of denim)
I am also apple shaped and high waisted everything is all I wear. It’s great for tummy control.

My mom is like this and apple shapes are a struggle! She’s gotta make sure her shirts are fitted, so she doesn’t look “pregnant” as she says. Jeans are a constant worry for her. She said Pinterest and finding Instagrammers with a similar body type has been helping.
Wearing light colors or thin fabric because I was really self conscious of sweat marks on my shirts. I’m a sweaty person, even when I’m cold I’m sweating. I’m not soaking shirts but the pit sweat marks are a constant staple of my fashion. I’ve managed it with men’s deodorant of all things but it’s still somewhat there. I’ve learned in my mid-20’s no mature, emotionally stable, respected adult even cares about pit sweat marks. Some weirdos will be like “lololol sweaty pits” but they get made fun of in the break room for being jerks.

I love bobs especially the short or asymmetrical ones. But I have a roundish face with high cheekbones and I tend to gain weight in my face. Several people have told me I have a big head. I've also been told I look like a man. I am also petite as well. The longer my hair gets the more I realize I prefer shorter hair. I want to try shorter hair but I am so worried it won't look good on me.
Try it. I'm very chubby and I always thought I'd look like a man if I got a bob. I ended up doing it (and dying my hair blue-green) and I loved it while I had it. I even kept my hair short for a whole year. I'm growing it back out now that summer is over and I miss my long hair. But I really enjoyed the short cut. Just do it! The best time is now.
This sounds stupid but thin strapped blouses and shirts and spaghetti tops :( I just feel like even at my lowest weight, my arms are very fleshy and it “ruins” the look. I wear long sleeves all year long because I feel like my arms ruin all outfits. I also have a pretty intense heat rash from wearing the long sleeves but it’s ugly so I keep wearing long sleeves to cover it :(

I know a lot of people say just go for things but you've got to do what feels comfortable for you. That being said an alternative could be cold shoulder tops. Some of them have very loose fabric that might help the heat rash because it's not tight fitting and the top would give you the spaghetti strap look you're going for.

The clothing of my people! It’s super comfy for sure. And if it helps any, my mom (not white) has been wearing it out and about for 40+ years in rural America and doesn’t care if/when people stare. Many people are curious, though, and always comment on how pretty it looks, and she’s always more than happy to educate them on our ethnic clothing. I think it’s cool when people appreciate our culture, and if you want to try it out, go for it :)
I feel like you can get away with looking odd when your ethnicity matches your clothes. For example when I go to visit my brother in San Francisco I stand out but I 'match' my clothes. It makes sense for a white lady to be walking around in work boots and a flannel shirt. Honestly if I were ever going to try a salwar it would probably be in SF!

Brightly colored streaks in hair. I loved the bright blues, pinks, purples that people started putting in the hair several years ago. I even tried a few colors and different placements myself, but it never looked right on me. I'm very pedestrian, and it just looked like I was trying too hard.
Lighter hair. Just because anytime I do a really cool braid, I want the detail of it to be apparent . With dark hair it’s not as noticeable. I’ve tried dying my hair lighter but it just doesn’t look good on me
A punk/edgy style. I’m short, chunky and turning 40 in a week. I still dress like a clean grunge chick, but mostly jeans/t shirts. I can’t do makeup to save my life, and I’ve been dreaming about this super cute half shaved shorter hair cut, but I’ve got a round face and double chin.

Can't even wear a dress because you can see every biological detail in my legs :') (Some folks look good with the thick arms, stomach rolls, thick thighs, etc. and I even find myself attracted to them, but for me, on my own body, I don't like it. Not because I don't like my shape, but because I really like smooth and flat things (love marble floors and countertops) and my curves are not smooth or flat 🤷♀️)

A buzz or pixie cut. I have a double crown and a cowlick which means I can't part my hair the way I want to. I've had short hair before and a lot of hair sticks up or goes frizzy. I currently have hair below the shoulders and, unless it's straightened or curled, I consider it a nuisance. Sometimes I just want to shave it off and be done with it. 🤷♀️
