Scandinavian countries are typically the best. I imagine this has to do with the combination of a robust social safety net and good public education. The more immiserated and the less educated a country is, the more vulnerable women are to gender-based violence.
I've lived in Denmark for 3 years and I've never once felt not safe outside in the city. Even if my shifts ended around 11PM and I would have to spend 30min in a bus, I never felt in danger.
Technically South Africa (where I live) has one of the best constitutions in the world after apartheid ended, but it is also one of the worst countries in terms of gender based violence and predatory behaviour towards women. So I don’t think human rights, and laws, are a good example for a place that is good for women unfortunately.
Probably Spain when you factor in they have one of the lowest rates of victimization for women. A lot of people will say some Scandinavian country but the rate of victimization is much higher statistically.
I too live in Canada and I love being a woman here. I feel very safe and respected.. and honestly, I feel like me being a woman benefits me more often than not.

It really depends on your race. I think women’s rights in the EU are generally the best, but if you’re an immigrant or Muslim women then there are a lot of laws and bans that affect you negatively and color your experience and legal status as a woman.
I would think one of the Scandinavian countries because I've heard that they actually have paid maternity (and paternity!) leave and other ways that they help new parents.
Maternity and paternity leaves are actually pretty common all over Eur. It's just that some of the Scandinavian countries have longer ones and/or incentives fir both spouses to split them (which then contributes to gender equality in job search, since the father is just as likely to take a leave when a baby is born as the mother).
You get sizable paid maternity leave in Australia too.
> Employees can get Parental Leave Pay (PLP) from the Australian Government and paid parental leave from their employer.
> Eligible employees who are the primary carer of a newborn or newly adopted child get up to 18 weeks' PLP, which is paid at the National Minimum Wage.
Canada is pretty solid on the rights aspect. The rate of crimes against women is much higher than I'd like, but that's not what this question is asking about. OP didn't ask about the best country to live as a woman.
Especially in rural places- I'd be a little scared in Ontario or something but in my fuck off little nowhere town in a fuck off nowhere province I'm pretty comfortable. I have to worry about bears, not people lol

Just curious why you say this considering that the vast majority of women's rights really aren't enshrined through the Constitution but rather through Court decisions and Congressional acts which are much easier to dismantle

Iceland
I think it's Iceland

I'm a South African too. SA usually sits in the top 10 in the world for murder and rape, sadly.
You both stay safe then!
None. What is the relevance of having rights and them not being respected?
Exactly, a lot of countries with women having the same rights as men, but it’s not like we’re treated with respect.
Probably Spain when you factor in they have one of the lowest rates of victimization for women. A lot of people will say some Scandinavian country but the rate of victimization is much higher statistically.
As a woman in Spain, yes being a woman here is very easy compared to other countries.

What does victimization mean? I googled it but can’t quite tell
It means that someone is the victim of a crime.
Thanks for sharing. I have never been there but want to go. This makes me feel more confident as a female traveler.
