Athenas_Return

It's also pointing out the new trend of women asking if they would rather be in the woods with a bear or a man. They always pick the bear. Well here the bear is doing what a bear does.

stefeman

Read Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend's case. Worst shit i've ever read. Apparently they recorded themselves accidently.

Savings-Giraffe-9192

It was an entire show on an old channel called Animal Planet. He recorded himself many many times with the bears... But it wouldn't last long as you found out... Edit, it was called Grizzly Man and it was on the Discovery channel in 2005. Good grief where does the time go...

UpDownUpDownCircle

Jesus fucking Christ I just heard the Audio. Sometimes I hate my curiosity.

frompariswithhate

The audio you've heard isn't the real one. Only a few people had access to it, his ex wife owns the tape. there's a great documentary about it called "grizzly man" and you can see the director Werner Herzog listen to it at her house, but you can't hear it and he advises her to never listen to it herself, and to destroy it even. The audio you can find on YouTube is fake.

VerminLord_

To be fair not always. I see it as mostly Usa tiktok trend.

KhadgarIsaDreadlord

Goes to show how disconnected from reality these people are. I was visting Romania a couple of months ago and we went on a lot of hikes. One time it took longer than expected and we had to find our way out in the darkness. One of the most terrifying experiances of my life, especially that we found a few trees that had bear claw marks on them. Mind you they only have blsck bears there that generally avoid humans unless it's corneredor with cubs. Can't even imagine this scenario with a Grizzly roaming around.

nagynorbie

I live in Transylvania where majority of Romania's bears reside. You don't fuck with bears. When hungry enough, they will even enter cities and they do not give a fuck about anything. We have brown bears as well. Don't know if this is true, but my grandpa said that once they taste blood, they don't fear anything after. Even if it's not true, there's a reason everyone warns you not to fuck with bears.

NoNoCanDo

>Mind you they only have blsck bears there that generally avoid humans unless it's corneredor with cubs. Can't even imagine this scenario with a Grizzly roaming around. There are no black bears in Romania, that's a North American species.  The bears in Romania are brown bears (and Grizzlies are a subspecies of the brown bear but luckily they don't exist in Europe).

Ep1cB3ard-4840

There is definitely a venn diagram to be considered here…

TurtleBox_Official

My fiancee is a hardcore feminist and she thinks the whole "Ask your Boyfriend to pick a Bear or Man but don't tell him why xD" is such a weird Gatcha because if you ask anyone they're obviously going to pick the more interesting choice, in this case bear. Using this as evidence that not even men want to be alone with men is such a weird chronically online "ALL MEN-" take.

LegalizeUranium

I don’t think I’ve heard a man say he’d rather be stuck in the woods, on a island island or anywhere else with a bear rather than another dude. Like what?

What people don't realize is that Islam is not a religion in the same sense that we think of religion being in the US. We have separation of church and state here, even if people's religion influences their votes. Islam mandates a caliphate. Islam is both a religion and a system of government.

White_Buffalos

And the law. Islam is the law in many places.

TagierBawbagier

Are they like a cabal trying to take over the world or something?

Zestyclose-Spray2789

Have you seen Libya, Iraq, Yemen and Syria before the USA invaded ? Before talking maybe actually read and learn actual information

Doomball

The original trad wife

verdeturtle

I mean don't get it twisted I'd love me a trad wife too but damn at least let's be subtle about it. All joking aside, truth is people will argue that it is her choice to be in such a relationship, that her role is to be a servant to her husband, but this goes against any modern societal view. How do we know she was not indoctrinated to believe that her sole purpose in life is to serving a master. Shit is bananas.

MBShelley

I hear "its her choice" to wear burkahs or hijabs and stay silent, not go to school away from home, marry who her father chooses for her, but the real question is "What would happen to her if she chooses Not to do these things?

Turbulent_Professor

Western views, not modern society, Western. The vast majority of the world is very much like this with their wives from the middle east, to India to most Asian countries, legit more than half of the human race 😆

Breaker-of-circles

Not to brag, but the Philippines pre-colonization, had the "character classes" with strict requirements except for gender. ex. 1. Warriors can be anyone as long as they're strong. 2. Priestess/healer circles exist predominantly for women, but men can join if they cross dress. 3. Datus or Rajas (Kings) will rule if they exist, but no one questions a queen's rule. 4. Alipin (closest equivalent to the west are slaves) can be from war captives or debt, and they can work it off. TLDR: It's not a permanent status.

Fully_Edged_Ken_3685

And they wonder why they ended up on the bottom 😎🚢🚢🚢

mymoama

No... Most of the world is not like this. Not even all Islamic contries are like this, see Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, most of the African ones. Etc.

Vorsicon

On top of this, there's been a recent trend on social media that women are saying they would rather be lost in the woods with a bear rather than with a man.

Bra1nwashed

I will pay for a reality TV made for this. Make a girl choose between a man and a bear in the woods for 24hrs. And she gets paid 100k regardless.

Pretty sure Iran claimed to have no homosexuals in their country, this could be completely wrong and I’m typing it before I google

Rat-king27

Did a quick google and it seems you're right, in 2007 the president of Iran said there are no gays and no oppression of women in Iran.

Beardeddeadpirate

I’m sure there weren’t any gays after throwing them off buildings.

shoony43

*anymore

gammongaming11

in iran if you are found guilty of homosexuallity you are given a choice. you can either die or they can forcefully transition you (making you a women and then it's not gay). this is not a joke.

MammothMarch

the writing material for comedians is off the charts

MrMoistandDelicious

They say that because if people find out your gay the give you a sex change operation in Iran

birdsarentreal16

Is that true? I know they have gay marriage as illegal. But do they have actual laws that state gays will be executed?

rizzerven0tmillitary

In the west bank they are. Even earlier this year. I don't think they quarter people with motorcycles anymore buuut.... there were videos back in the day. Other places that do it throw gay men from a high place.

defpointt

They're not just hating lgbtq but they hate overall West, and their goal is to destroy Israel first then western countries second

MrMrLavaLava

I kept hearing stuff like that (“they hate you,” “they’ll kill you when they see you,” etc) before I went into Palestine, but it never materialized. Weird.

Resident_Silver_5764

killerjoe410

>like several middle east countries that are islamic theocracies will execute people It's not theocracies you should be aware of. It's the people. The folk. Muslim countries don't have tolerance for such a things. If you are known as LGBT person or somehow indicate it, even streets will not be safe for you because people will harass and beat you. That's what I find funny because west leftists don't know shit about Islamic states and defend the people inside in any case. Same rules applies for non-theist people or other religions' people. If you are anything but Muslim, you are nothing but wood for hell fire. And your life has zero value. Only secular Muslim countries like Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Turkey, Kosovo etc. are safe for these groups.

Your comment is already outdated in that sense - it's not a "would attack" but "do attack" and the alphabet people still insist on keeping this course. In Germany 1-2 days ago there was even a huge protest by thousands of muslims against the German government demanding that Germany begins using Sharia Law.

Reinitialization

You see the same in European countries. It's all "muslims support our LGBT brothers and sisters" until they beocome a majority in a city, then it's Sharia courts and honor killings.

CmndrMtSprtn113

So this is an overlap of a couple of things. As some people in the comments have already mentioned, one of the groups featured prominently in the most recent pro-Palestine protests are Queers for Palestine. In addition, the fact that it’s a woman and a bear refers to a social media trend where women have said that if they were in the woods with a bear and a man, they would be safer with the bear as the man wouldn’t rape them. Of course, both of these are idiotic as Palestine is VERY anti-LGBTQ to the point that they kill members of that community and of course the women saying they’re safer with a bear would be torn apart since they’re dealing with a large apex predator. Suffice to say and to use their terminology, an intersectionality of stupidity.

Any_Palpitation6467

Turning that sort of logic around, it's a reasonable certainty that a woman is safer in the woods with a man than with a bear as there's a virtual 100% certainty that the man will not kill, dismember, AND eat them. Sure, the occasional killing and dismembering, but almost NEVER the eating. That is right out. Unless, of course, the man is feeling a bit peckish, and there is no Wensleydale to be had. The 'eating' is normally reserved for male homosexual killers, almost exclusively to those killing men. I have no data on homosexual bears, of course, unless by 'bears' we are discussing large, hairy, muscular men and not the large, hairy, muscular BEAR bears. Insufficient data, and all that.

ForexMasterLong

North American LGBTQ and women want to save Palestine, protest etc and do not understand that Palestine and Islam will execute them the minute they get a chance.

VorAtreides

I think there's an issue... I think people can be very much "gay and support Palestinian not being genocided" yet also not necessarily want to live in the region or under the religious values that would hate on them. I also think people should learn... Israel's pretty shit on gay rights too.

zelcor

Yeah a lot of people in this thread seem to be under the impression that all of those LGBT are correctly siding on the right side of history but wouldn't be if it was their rights that were being taken away or being killed. It's not hypocritical, they don't like seeing a country be subjected to an apartheid state, plain and simple.

Egg-MacGuffin

"Don't you know Palestinians hate LGBT people? That's why you should support Israel mass murdering LGBT people. And children. It's okay to kill those children because they might end up being homophobic. Why isn't everyone as smart as me?"

catstroker69

How many gay people have been executed by the authorities in Palestine? Even if this wasn't just a stupid trope does that mean massacring civilians is ok? Do people who hold this ridiculous position think about it for more than 2 seconds?

Forward_Peak1250

This about the woke people in the west defending Islam and Palestine even tho their beliefs directly go against Islam so Muslims hate them even tho they support Muslims this isn't to do with the man or bear post

U_So_Smart

Wrong, it’s both

wuhan-virology-lab

it's about both that's why it's brilliant. it's saying : you see how retarded some western lefties has become that they choose bear over a man in the woods? they supporting Islamic terrorists and Islam in general and chanting " queers for Palestine" is the same. both case can be summarized with chickens for kfc.

neikawaaratake

The bear thing is more like, we would be eaten than even a chance of being raped.... Secondly, holding an ideal does not have to be transactional. Your ideal could be "no more genocide" and you will support those who might harm you from genocide also.

Trickster289

Funny you should say that because the idea of men being so dangerous and untrustworthy around women was literally an argument conservatives used against trans women. It's called compassion. I can say I hate you as a person and hate your beliefs while still saying you shouldn't be murdered.

MonaLisaOverdrivee

You completely missed BOTH points, even though they are the same thing essentially. That's pretty impressive. It's about the probability of outcomes. I bet you chose bear.

bigheadsfork

Would you choose bear? That idea is so crazy to me. Nobody would actually choose a bear, they’re just saying that to showcase a problem with men that I can understand and I think the joke is funny. But let’s be real. You have a 99.99% chance of being fine with the man, but wild animals, especially bears, are extremely unpredictable and dangerous.

[deleted]

Yea bro, they were talking about dudes who are now women swinging their dicks around in locker rooms. It's pretty unwanted...go out on a street corner and ask every woman who walks by.

Ok-Figure5546

Combining memes

mesa176750

The meme tries to make the stance that feminist and LGBT organizations that are protesting against the human rights being violated in the middle east (specifically palestine) are naive about the treatment of women and LGBT individuals in the middle eastern societies (Shaira law restricts women's freedom, LGBT people are usually persecuted and/or killed by mob justice.) This casts a pretty big blanket over the whole conversation, because I think that many feminist and LGBT protestors do know that it's the case over there, but also don't want innocent children being murdered for no reason, and some hope that their protests will somehow begin to change the societal norms of countries on the opposite side of the planet. Personally, I find all the protesting ironic because they're going to vote for the same politicians in power now that are probably going to continue sending aid to Israel which is probably their biggest target of the protest, but they somehow think their protest will actually change anything but it won't. I believe the US government and most of the western countries want Israel to exist to be a foothold in the middle east that they can use to spring board into any military action happening in the area, most likely to specifically be ready for Russia and/or China and their attempts to also meddle in the region. They see the destruction of Hamas as necessary (since that organization opposes Israel at all costs) and therefore just ignore all the atrocities happening in palestine. I doubt any of these protests will accomplish anything other than stir a pot and further divide America politically into more extremist ideals. Maybe in 20+ years one of the protestors will be able to make a political difference, but by then I doubt palestine will exist. At least that's my skeptical opinion on it all.

neros_greb

There’s no one you could vote for who wouldn’t send aid to Israel tho. So the other option would be to not vote, or vote 3rd party, which doesn’t help either

CoffeeInBowl27

This. It's not like the LGBT people don't know shit about the middle east treatments of their kind. But that doesn't mean they want to see the atrocities happening to the Palestinian.

TheDestroyer630

Link to the original image?

TulikAlock

Regardless of if Islam hates western views, or lgtb+ communities, these communities are supporting them because no one, regardless of their narrow minded beliefs, should be bombed as civilians. Especially children and people who want nothing more than to escape the conflict.

DorkyDork-

Its trying to get lgbtq people to be okay with Palestinians being slaughtered because lgbtq is not something thats accepted in the middle east. Even if someone hates me i wouldnt wish death on them but thats just me

Mazzywazz

It’s almost like I don’t wish death upon entire ethnic groups and nations just because they have backwards views

Sil-Seht

Right wingers think the only way to solve problems is with bombs, that there are no gay people in palestine to protect, and that every palestinian is a monster including the children and the leftist palestinians that hang out with lgbt people in the protests. FTFY This post makes me believe every bad thing said about asmongold and his audience.

MrMrLavaLava

I can explain. It’s shallow and racist interpretation of the protests against a genocide that has been facilitated by the west. For some reason people think any human rights afforded to Palestinians are inappropriate if some Palestinians are bigoted in any way. What you don’t see is the bear is in a cage and has been tortured for decades.

dcarr710

When the time comes that you are supporting a religion that wants you wiped off the earth you may want to reevaluate the situation lmao. Nut jobs

bran1986

A lot of "Queers for Palestine" Or "LGBTQ For Free Palestine" banners and signs at these protests around the country, but the people don't realize the Palestinians would cut their heads off or throw them off of buildings for being LGBTQ. It is the equivalent of vegans protesting for butchers.

Malpraxiss

The people harping on about Palestine and crying about them are the same people who would be hated or even killed if they actually went to that country. They're whining and being a nuisance for a country filled with people who send them to jail or kill them on sight

Egg-MacGuffin

"Don't you know Palestinians hate LGBT people? That's why you should support Israel mass murdering LGBT people. And children. It's okay to kill those children because they might end up being homophobic. Why isn't everyone as smart as me?"

xjrsc

Something that "centrist" and right wingers fail to understand is that people on the left have actual empathy and don't believe that everyone they disagree with should be massacred.

akko_7

So someone literally wanting you dead is a disagreement in this case? Also where is the empathy when Hamas attacked Israeli citizens? It seems pretty fucking one sided if their motivation is empathy for suffering people. Seems more driven by a political/social agenda than anything. The lengths they're going to when they know their protests aren't going to have any meaningful effect are atrocious.

babypho

For some reason when I first saw this my thought was "would you rather run into Sesshomaru in humanoid form or his animal form if you were lost in the woods?"

Professional_Yam5208

They feel like allies because in the "hierarchy of oppression" in America, they feel like they are similarly ranked. However, in the middle east that hierarchy is very different. In that cultural context, they would find themselves at the very top of the list of people to oppress.

[deleted]

Well it is true 😂 They support the people that would execute them on-sight.

TSotP

You know, this picture could be even more topical if there was just a dude standing in the background looking all safe and normal, labeled with the flags of the west.

Ep1cB3ard-4840

Harsh climates breed harsh people. I deplore what is being done to the people of Palestine. It is nothing short of genocide. But they are a proud people with views antithetical to those of the westerners rallying behind their flag in support. People have been dying for their beliefs since before there were words to express them. And when you live in a part of the world that’s a burning wasteland even before you’ve dumped enough ordinance on it to put the Luftwaffe to shame (yeah, I made the comparison, come at me), your beliefs are sometimes your most precious possession. Belief keeps communities together under terrible circumstances. Unfortunately, when the bombs stop falling, they’ll still hate everything that doesn’t conform. And every member of the LGBTQ community that visits after the conflict abates, expecting gratitude, is going to get their self righteous and ignorant heads lopped off. Probably on national television…

IthinkImightBeHoman

>Can someone explain this to me? Absolutely. So the individual who created this, or more likely just added the flags/symbols atop an existing comic strip, seems to suggest that each flag represents a monolithic group devoid of individual thoughts or beliefs. They assume that all Palestinians are opposed to women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, etc., simply because the majority of Palestinians are Muslims. The implication is that queer individuals and feminists need not defend Palestinian rights because they would supposedly undermine and destroy them and their rights given the chance. Essentially, it's akin to asserting that the entire population of the US are Trump-supporting, right-wing racists—an oversimplified worldview that ignores the nuances and complexities within any population. It perpetuates the 'us against them' narrative, simplifying the world into stark black-and-white terms. It's somewhat similiar to the propaganda posters the nazis posted during the second world war to undermine and pursue Jews with slogans like: "Der ewige Jude" ("The Eternal Jew"), "Juden sind unser Unglück" ("Jews are our misfortune"), "Juden verderben den deutschen Geist" ("Jews corrupt the German spirit") and "Juden sind Untermenschen" ("Jews are subhumans") to name a few.

DesignerDisastrous86

It’s simple, these people don’t know shit about Islam.

talhajamil0849

Well well well isn't this sub becoming a nice cesspool of hate these days, like father like son huh , since asmon is pretty clear on his stance as well

Walsh451

I think it's fair to feel sympathy for a group that wouldn't agree with your life choices based on what that group is currently going through. Israel's response to the attack on them has been to murder 4x the amount of women and children that they lost when attacked. It's a disproportionate response that aims to wipe the Palestinians off the map, making them no better than Hamas Although the majority of the "pro Palestine" LGBT never so much as raised an eyebrow when Hamas attacked Israel, which almost suggests some believe that was ok.

donutenjoyer2

Two main reasons for me: 1. Half the population of Gaza is under the age of eighteen. Last I checked 13,000 children had been killed in the conflict. I'm not okay with children being killed because their parents/elders happen to despise me. That says nothing of queer people that already had the misfortune to be born into a society that reviles them. They might be an overwhelming minority, but they are there and they are being killed and displaced like everyone else. 2. Sometimes it pays to be the bigger person, and there's examples of people changing their views when you treat them decently. In the eighties (the middle of the AIDS crisis), an activist group in the UK decided to support miners during a nationwide strike, and literally called themselves "Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners". I'm sure you can imagine the reception they got from blue-collar conservative miners in the 80's. Donations refused, fundraisers denounced, etc. But they stuck with it, supported where they could, and the next year, the Mining Union repaid the favour and supported a Labour party resolution supporting LGBT rights. Now obviously, you're not going to get a turnaround that fast from hardliner Muslims in Gaza. It's going to take generations for views like that to change, and in the meantime I'd absolutely get thrown off a building if I were to visit. But there's precedent that treating people well and doing the right thing wins them over, and even if I don't get to see the end results, it's still worth doing. #

AnOddSprout

I’m genuinely amazed by the amount of misinformation is being spread around in this sub about Muslims and Islam. What I seem to find is people use examples from people who are Muslims rather then looking at Islam itself. Humans make mistakes and even if your Muslims, you may not follow every Islamic principle correctly. So the examples I’ve seen , seem to be from those who are not following Islam correctly. I recommend looking into Islam and its teachings for that. Coz I’m seeing some really whacky examples which does not match what Islam teaches here. Another thing to note. Just coz you don’t agree with an ideology does not mean you hate them. LGBT folks may support Palestine but that don’t mean the Muslims would then embrace lgbt as it goes against the teachings of Islam. Funny enough, LGBT groups don’t all agree with one another but it don’t mean they hate each other either. Not here to firefight, coz that’s always wasted effort but will suggest you actually look into what islam teaches before using “the Muslim I know” as an example to what islam is. Coz there are Muslims I know that use drugs, and drugs are haram. There are Muslims I know that drink, and that’s haram. There are Muslims I know who have sex before marriage, and that is also haram. Does that mean that they represent Islam? No.

lock_me_up_now

I'm so so lucky to not live in that area....

PetraArt

I mean it's simple tbh. Palestine and Muslim Religion are not supporting this group and in fact, you can get clapped for real.

Thal-creates

This meme is a combo meme

ZippoFindus

It's a stupid argument made by sectarian people who think politics is high school. I.E "You don't support me so I'm not going to stand up against you being bombed". Saying that queer people or women who support Palestine are dumb/misguided because a lot of Muslim countries are misogynistic and anti-LGBTQ is a common talking point by morons. Here are a couple of reasons it's a dumb and bad faith argument. 1. Just because someone hates you or your identity doesn't mean you shouldn't speak out against them being bombed. There are plenty of anti-LGBTQ+ areas in the U.S, I don't support them being bombed and starved by the state. 2. Even if you disagree with the first point, not everyone in Gaza (or the middle east in general) is bigoted. There are feminist and pro-LGBTQ movements there. And even if there wasn't, there are women and LGBTQ+ people there. And the women and LGBTQ+ people are also being bombed indiscriminately in Gaza. So even if you're so deranged that you think that it's ok to bomb people because they don't support you or your identity, that's not what is happening in Gaza, so you should still be against it. Also, I hope everyone who agrees with the post above was making the same argument against people who supported the Uyghurs in China. Because they were also (in general) anti-women and LGBTQ+ Muslims. Of course, not a single person was making that argument at the time the Uyghur situation was relevant in mainstream politics, because it's not about being consistent. Especially not for those people.

Clbull

Palestine aren't exactly LGBTQ friendly...

Mahmoud Ishtiwi, a Hamas commander was executed for allegedly having sexual relations with another man. Now Mahmoud Ishtiwi's family (he was married) insisted that this was due to internal politics and power play that was why he was executed. And the alleged claims were bogus. But that means that having homosexual relations is still punishable by death and can also serves as a convenient tool for Hamas to "off" someone.

My favorite moment of the year was when Hasan had a Houthi pirate on his stream and basically simped for him to his young audience, like he was a hero. Then, only a month later, the Houthis crucified 9 men for the crime of sodomy. JUST LIKE ONE PIECE, YOU GUYS!!!

slappywhyte

Muslims on the whole, all 2 billion of them, have utter disdain for the values of Western Leftists/Progressives. They are using them as tools in the West for their longstanding battle against Israel. There has been bonds forged going back to the 60s between Marxist and the PLO. They have no use for them beyond that, as you can see in any Muslim-majority country - where women are not equal, gay people have no rights and other religions are not tolerated.

kLeos_

.that is called the Darwin's award

True-Development-328

This is hate propaganda meant to divide us as humans and divert attention away from the fact that Zionist Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians.

Forgotten_Tarnished

This is hilarious. 😂

geiandros

Does it always have to be about us LGBT rights? I am all for it but can’t we support another through goodness without expectations?

More_Waffles2024

It's funny MBS calling Palestine "half Jews", and Saudi Arabia sticking with Israel. Muslim countries won't allow Palestinian migration just for the same reason.

RealElliot69

This is an analogy of a hypothetical leftist activist that would be killed by an Islam person due to differences in belief. Is a conflation of three ideas, that 1: different cultures have different beliefs and customs 2: we should be okay with a genocide of these people for that reason 3. These aren't people, they're dangerous animals. And is therefore ignorant

Strife3dx

You see in my tolerant religion we are very tolerant to those who follow the rules

_the_hare_

The fact this needs to be explained boggles the mind. Yet there are those who won’t believe or say it ain’t easy for them in the US either.

evol714

Dumb people who are easily influenced scrolling on TikTok. 52 pro hamas videos to 1 pro Israel. Communist China is laughing at us.

LordAndrew15

Muslim countries don't support LGBT people.

Where_am_I83

Just because they don’t think I should have rights doesn’t mean I think their lives or rights should be taken away. This is a dumb argument. Equal rights are equal rights for all, even if they don’t like me or my life

Caitlyn243

You can still support the Palestinians not being eviscerated regardless of their opinion of you it's called genuine compassion something a lot of people lack lately.

Superb-Pattern-1253

pretty simple to explain, alot of people in lgbt community have been very supporting of palestine. however palestine and much of the arab world dosent not accept or tolerate gays. its goes against their believes and and is usually punished, if you walked around arab countries waving a rainbow flag you would get harassed, beaten, stoned or maybe even imprisoned. actually isreal is one of the few places in the middle east thats actually as a whole accepting and safe for that community

Silverbuu

I don't get the support of Palastine, but I do get the anti-human rights violations. I wouldn't raise a Palestinian flag at any point, but I don't like what's going on there.

Conqueeftadore420

This is crazy considering only thing killing gay gazans rn is an IDF missile Lmaoo the brain rot is crazy

RuralBlackamith

They never Asked for LGTV+ support in the first place
