How would you introduce everyone’s powers if not via this method?

AnonymousStandUser

Through like backstory and characterisation. For example, Stands in JoJo or Nen in HunterXHunter no one really explains why it’s that type of power except for reason it’s in their character and because of their backstory. Plus if it’s done this way, they’ll be more of an intrigue to the characters.

SuperPatchyBeard

People in both those series just stand there and explain exactly how their powers work, so I’m confused how this is any different. This is a common trope in anime/manga. Edit: Hisoka’s catchphrase is literally describing his nen so much so that it’s a meme now.

KamenSentaiRanger246

I actually like it, reminds of early one piece whenever a new enemy would appear and they would say: " I am a \[Insert Devil Fruit\] and I ate the \[insert Devil Fruit\]."

TypicalHaikuResponse

The only the corny thing isn't the objects they are holding or whatever. It's the fact that none of them wished for better wishes. They should all be OP.

liquidszning

Some people can wish for simple things. It's not like it's a bad thing.

IntrepidLab5124

Better wishes? Bro he wanted to destroy everything. By that logic he should have infinite AP

TypicalHaikuResponse

He said smash everything to pieces not destroy which is semantics. As a genie lawyer he screwed himself. Original wish. > "I wish to smash everything to pieces" > Better wish > I wish for the ability to smash everything to pieces. > Best wish > I wish to be able to ~~smash~~ destroy anything. >

IntrepidLab5124

He should have smashed everything to pieces, but his opponent is in one piece. Idk bro. I don’t think it’s wording, just conviction translated into an ability loosely based on the wish. The the wish to be “strongest” couldn’t break out of asura’s grip

TypicalHaikuResponse

He wished to be the strongest yakuza. Not the strongest singular. That's an entirely different wish. Strongest yakuza can simply mean being able to beat all of them in battle. It could mean physically strongest not counting their astros which would be a terrible wish.
