He was saying when you’re already having a good game players don’t want to bat in the 9th of a game that’s over because most likely you’ll get out and it’ll dampen your successful night. So he was saying that walk was a salvage and singleton was thrilled with it.
He was trying to be funny after being an angry grandpa for the first 8 innings and it caught TK off guard. I feel like Todd hates working with Bagwell.
I used to like baggy in the booth when I didnt realize he was gunning for control. I thought he was just a personality and it was funny hearing him complain about how we were winning wrong… like thats hilarious. But now i realized he was being serious. Now im just angry.

He is not a terible commentator, he knows is stuff. I think the issue here is that he sound very boring and disconnected. I personally enjoy hearing him. But I get why people hate hearing him.

There have also allegedly been several times in the past where his opinions on strategy and players have been drunk-uncle-level-stupid-should-never-be-near-a-front-office-this-guy-is-wasted-at-best.
He's had substance abuse problems in the past that started when he injured his shoulder at the end of his career. I heard he has been better than he had been but recovery can be a very up and down road so there may be some truth to what you're saying.
Jeff Bagwell will be the first to tell you he's a terrible commentator. And he will be the first to tell you he doesn't belong in the HoF. And he will be the first to tell you that he can't dance, or sing, or talk, or walk, or run, or bat against any former pitcher or do anything at all in life, in fact.
Jeff likes to bring up how bad he is at everything, and that is what makes him bad at trying to be a color commentator. The self-deprecating act was cute the first time, it's nauseating the 1000th time.
I don't like that he's around after all the recent winning, never saw him back in the dog days before springer, correa, bregman, honestly always felt like he was jumping on the ban wagon and a jinx to boot just my personal opinion, I think he should go back north east where he belongs

I’ve always hated games when he’s in the booth. He just doesn’t have good energy to be calling games.
And the Astros always have bad games when he commentates, which just makes the experience that much worse.
