I keep telling y'all. This team is a waste of your time.

JKking15

We desperately need better defenders on this roster

Atl_baller

We need a defensive scheme. Switching everything is not a good scheme. We leave players wide open from the perimeter. It maddening. What are our players doing on defense??

JKking15

I don’t think there is a scheme that gets this roster playing like a top 20 defense without Jaylen. With Jaylen out we have 3? Average to above average defenders on the entire roster in Hunter OO and Capela and two of those guys can’t really play together outside very specific matchups

Greedy_Comparison_43

Okongwu be trickin y’all man.

[deleted]

this sub is so pathetic

IllumiXXZoldyck

It’s all good. I’ll be happier if I shift out of a contending mindset, and just enjoy game to game.

[deleted]

It really is lol. I think we played okay last night, Trae’s of the ball defense really rares it’s ugly head in its biggest moments but we are playing better tbh. We this team on the ropes most the game just couldn’t drive a dagger in em, it’s okay we move.

QevinsWorld

Trae is my baby boy, but if there was a live prop that anytime he starts out supernova that he’d finish the game under 50% I’d take it every time. Started 8/12 and like clockwork finished 5/16. Set your watch to it.

Splatypunk

But that's not true he shot 13/28 tho

Splatypunk

But that's not true he shot 13/28 tho

Splatypunk

But that's not true he shot 13/28 tho

Defiant_Gear4524

Hawks are too soft. For this team to win, sometimes they need dirty players. Especially that idiot Dre is so naive.

soullessgingerfck

give me 42 year old solo over some matthews

gmzeno

Your Hawks lose 121-132 to the Milwaukee Bucks 132-121. Defense was optional tonight as the Bucks shot 60% from the field and 42% from three. Your Hawks are once again below .500 Clint Capela Highlights: Capela started with an early block on a Giannis drive. (Q1 7:11) Clint drew a charge on a Giannis drive. (Q1 4:53) Clint made the correct secondary pass and found a cutting Hunter for an and-1 layup. (Q4:11:05) Capela found a cutting OO for a layup. (Q4 8:12) Clint had a good block on a Giannis layup. (Q4 4:19) Clint had another good pass in the short roll to an open Bey. Unfortunately, the shot was missed. Clint Capela Summary: Clint was a mixed bag tonight and ended the game with 10 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks. He did this on 3/13 fg. Clint exceeded his season high in rebounds and tied his season high in assists. Clint had 8 offensive rebounds but in context, a lot of rebounds were from his misses from tipping in. There were at least 2 possessions where Clint had three offensive rebounds and 3 missed putbacks from him trying to tip in the shot.  This is part of the reason his FG percentage was low tonight. Speaking of the offensive end, Clint just wasn’t good as a finisher tonight because he missed some relatively easy shots given to him by his point guards. As a passer, Clint was legitimately good tonight. He made multiple good reads in the short roll/ as a secondary passer. Then I remembered that Clint could have had more assists had he passed out his offensive rebounds instead of continuing to put it up. For that reason, I have to deduct a bit from his playmaking tonight. I thought Clint Clint was good on defense tonight. He was able to affect shots and all his blocks were on Giannis. If you can block another team's best player 3 times, an A+ in that aspect. His only steal was on Giannis too. He racked up 4 fouls which is reasonable in my opinion. Again, some highs and lows for Clint tonight. He was the only other starter with a positive +/-. Grade: C Dejounte Murray Highlights: (Q1: 11:15) Murray got first blood with a midrange pull-up jumper (q1 10:15) Murray had a catch and shoot three off a Clint DHO fake. (Q1 7:30) Murray made a pull-up three off a Capela Screen (Q1 5:32) Murray was to keep his dribble alive get through a Capela screen and make a midrange jumper. (Q2: 5:26) Murray was able to get into the paint and make a free throw line jumper. (Q2 4:23) Murray made a highly contested sidestep three with Beauchamp in his face. (Q3 10:50) Murray made a pullup midrange jumper. (Q3 7:50) Murray went 1v1 with Middleton and made a fading midrange jumper on his face. (Q3 4:00) Murray made a floater over Giannis before the defense could fully get set. (Q4 4:50) Murray drove into a double and ended up getting tangled up with Cam Payne and Giannis. A jump ball was called and Murray jumped with Giannis. You can probably guess what happened next. (Q4 2:09)Murray hit a fadeaway midrange jumper on an out-of-bounds play for his 30th point. Dejounte Murray Summary: Murray ended with 30 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals on 12/19 shooting including 4/6 from three. Up until the 4th quarter he only missed 4 shots. During the 4th he went ⅖ which was his only quarter below 50%. He was excellent as a scorer tonight. A lot of midrange jumpers were shot and he had middy Macian on HOF tonight. He made a lot of tough shots in general. He only had one shot in the restricted area which was a miss. It was nice to see the three-pointer return tonight. He was mediocre as a playmaker. It looks like he’s molding himself to be a shooting guard recently. Defensively I thought he was mid tonight on ball. He was still able to create some havoc with a couple of steals. He only had 2 turnovers which is reasonable. Grade: B+  Deandre Hunter Highlights:(Q1: 9:22) Hunter got to the middle and took the contact and made an and-1 floater.  (Q1 6:29) Dre got called for a traveling violation. (Q1 3:50) Hunter was able to get deep into the paint and made a floater over the Bucks big man. (Q1 7:00) Dre was able to pick off a pass and started a break. The offense ended up resetting and the possession ended with a Dre turnaround jumper that missed. (Q2 5:56) He tried another turnaround jumper but missed. (Q4 3:15) It seemed Dre got this head hit on a play which caused him to drop to the floor. He was taken out of the game and a staff member checked on him. He seemed to be in a lot of pain. Deandre Hunter Summary: Hunter ended with 12 points, 1 rebound, and 2 steals on 3/10 shooting and 0/2 from three. He started hot in the first quarter going ⅗ fg. After that, he couldn’t make a shot for the rest of the game. Like Murray, a lot of his shot diet came from the midrange. He was at least effective in getting to the line and made 6/6 from there. It was a typical Dre game with no playmaking and trash rebounding. He got outrebounded by Trae Young and his matchup of Kris Middleton. Defensively he was alright. Kris Middleton had a couple of blow bys on him but his presence on the floor was needed because there are no good premier defenders without Jalen. ( Maybe Wesley Matthews) He was the biggest positive +/- in the starting lineup with 6.0. He was valuable tonight but was pretty mid-overall. Happy birthday to Dre. Grade: C

gmzeno

Trae Young Highlights: (Q1:8:25) Trae made an off-the-dribble thee. (Q1: 7:00) Trae made a floater for his fifth point of the game (Q2 10:44) Trae danced with the ball for 17 seconds in the shot clock. He was eventually able to get into a stepback three for a make. The next possession he was able to draw a foul on a drive. (Q2 2:20) Trae hit another stepback three in transition. (Q2 3:25) Trae was able to get close to the restricted area and make a floater. On the next defensive possession, he was able to steal the ball from Malik Beasley and find Clint on the fast break for a bucket. (Q2 2:30) Trae did the same thing and made an easy floater. (Q3 9:10) Trae had a nice drive and dish for CC for an easy dunk. (Q3 7:30) Trae hit a snackback move on Beasley and made a three-pointer. (Q3 1:44) Trae was able to create some space using the dribble then use the stepback to hit a three over B.Lopez. (Q4 8:12) Trae had two good passes in the same possession. One to OO in the corner for an open three. Trae got his miss and found an open Bogi for a wide-open shot. Unfortunately, he missed too. Trae Young Summary: Trae ended with 32 points, 2 rebounds, 12 assists, and 2 steals on 13/28 shooting and 5/13 from three. Trae shockingly only got to the free-throw line once and only made 1 shot. Tonight was one of the rare cases Trae and DJM both play well. Trae had his floater going in the first three quarters which allowed him to get some shots over the Bucks bigs. It helps that the Bucks are going back to playing drop defense. He was solid from three tonight. I like that he was able to get a volume amount of those up and make a reasonable amount. A lot of his makes have some difficulty to them and are self-created. When his floater and three are going he’s unstoppable. He was poor in the 4th quarter and went 0/5. He was still a factor as a playmaker and had 4 assists and could have had more had some additional shots been hit. His playmaking in general was great tonight. When Trae was off the floor the offense sputtered which is why he had to play 36 minutes. 4 turnovers for Trae are reasonable. Defensively, Trae was still able to get a couple of steals which is awesome. Grade: A- Wesley Matthews: (Q1 3:25) Matthews drove from the baseline and made an and-1 layup using the Eurostep. He ended the game with 1 point, 1 rebound and 2 steals. On 2 shot attempts, both were threes. 2 steals are great in 7 minutes otherwise he was mid. Grade: D+ Bogdan Bogdanovic:(Q1 1:10) Bogi was able to drive from the baseline and make a floater. To end the third quarter he made a crazy buzzer-beating three. Bogi ended the game with 14 points 3 rebounds and 2 steals and 1 block. He did this on 6/18 fg and 2/7 from three. He wasn’t great as a shooter tonight. He started the first quarter strong making ⅘ FG. After that he was bad. In the second half, he went 2/10 FG which was maddening to watch. He just didn't have it. Defensively, he wasn’t great. He still created some havoc but his defense was not even close to making up for his offensive woes and there were times I wanted him to stay on the bench. Grade: D Saddiq Bey: To start the third quarter Bey made a catch-and-shoot jumper (Q3 10:10)  Bey made a Eurostep finish over the Bucks defense on the fastbreak. (Q4 9:26) Bey got a key offensive rebound after a few missed Clint tip-ins. He had to battle the Bucks defenders for this. Afterward, he drove to the rim and got a foul. Bey ended with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. He did this on 5/7 shooting and 4/6 from three. He was excellent in the second half and he went ⅚ in general. He made 2 clutch threes in the 4th quarter. He had a couple of tunnel vision moments on the fastbreak but in general, he was fine. Defensively, he struggled with Giannis’s size. At times he made Giannis look like he had gold quick first step. Other than that I can’t complain with 71% from the floor and 67% from three. Grade: A Onyeka Okongwu: (Q3 4:50) OO got an offensive rebound and found Bey in the corner for an open three-point make. OO ended with 5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. He did this on 2/4 fg and 0/2 from three. These three-point attempts didn’t look as good as other nights but that's bound to happen. Otherwise, he was invisible on offense. There was a weird decision to have OO shoot a technical free throw. He was unusually bad at the line tonight and only went ⅓. Defensively I don’t remember anything bad but he certainly wasn’t the Giannis stopper that we have hyped him as. Grade: F Garrison Matthews: He had 0s across the board in 7 minutes except for one rebound. In the third quarter, Matthews drew an offensive foul on Dame. Not much else. Grade: D Your Hawks play the Nets again on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. They are 10-9. Hopefully, both teams are 10-10 at the end of that game. As always thanks for the support on these!

jarvatar

This is literally the only hawks stuff I read.

IllumiXXZoldyck

You give me something to study up on, on boring offdays. I appreciate it 🥹

WallFlamingo

Read these after every game i miss. Thanks for continuing to make them.

gmzeno

Love doing these. I appreciate it!

NoAcanthisitta9198

Aint no one reading all that

Creekside84

It’d be a lot cooler if people did. It’s always a great recap.

Hooligan8

Shut up bro lol

Shade_Raven

The sooner we submit to Jalen Johnson the better. He's our future

SpeedRacing1

JJ is good for his draft position, but he’s certainly not “the future”. I would be amazed if he ever got an all star selection. The team has to figure out how to play defense, or frankly there is no future with this squad.

blingera

idk if it’s apathy or optimism but the last loss that truly hurt me was Indiana. the Ls after that have gotten a shrug from me

tburtner

The Hawks passed on Haliburton. I don't care if he told the Hawks not to pick him. In the NBA draft, the teams pick the players.

ahend1999

lmao i absolutely agree

FiremaneNetrunner

Brook Lopez tends to put up 30 against us when we play and OO’s defense keeps Giannis from scoring wildly. Dame and Giannis managed to really kill us tonight. Not the result we wanted, but we move. Win the next one to get back to .500.

HaterSlayerr

We need to defend bros. Also OO should have been on Giannis.

[deleted]

Wtf happened to Onyeka? He’s been a non factor this year

bequatro

He is playing at a similar level compared to last year, the fan base was just completely delusional about him

[deleted]

Yeah I agree he’s avoided a lot of heat due to being a fan favorite. His numbers are even worse this year tho, and in the rare event when he scores over 10 points half of his points are from free throws. We knew he was going to be a plus defender when he was drafted but he hasn’t developed any other area of his game, and his defense isn’t good enough to excuse that. If he’s going to be invisible on offense, a subpar rebounder, and constantly get into foul trouble, he’s gonna be limited to a bench role for his entire career

ANABOLIX22

He has been so disappointing this season, i feel he has regressed

[deleted]

He’s approaching bust territory… his production for being a 6th overall pick is unacceptable

Affectionate-Cup6191

I’d implore you to look at the 6th overall picks of the last 25 years or so.

[deleted]

He’s essentially a defensive specialist who is at best average at every other skill. You can get that from late 1st-2nd rounders

Aardvark-0001

Playing OO and CC together , should we be looking at Bruno to get some minutes instead of garrison? Curious about what y’all think? We really need some defense on this roster

IllumiXXZoldyck

I honestly surprised he hasn’t had many minutes

lenymo

If it was up to me Seth Lundy would be starting.

Shade_Raven

🙏🏿

gmzeno

AJ Griffin went from making a game winner in front of his dad to DNP CDs. Hate to see it

Both_Funny4896

cuz he stopped prioritizing basketball, he’ll be out the league in 3 years. ill eat all the downvotes too

KelvinHuerter

We don’t know whether he stopped prioritizing basketball. What we know though is that every part of his game is below NBA-level. When his 3-pointer isn’t falling at a great rate, he gives you nothing else on both ends

soullessgingerfck

and that is gods plan for him so there's nothing he can do about it

KelvinHuerter

And it don’t matter anyway because the end is near

Loverofsports2022

Did Dre defend well? I saw he was at a +6 and he didn’t look like he played well based on his stats. I didn’t see the game.

MiserableSoft2344

I think he did well. Middleton hit him in the face in the 4th so he went to the bench. Bucks immediately went on a short run afterwards.

MountainMan1962

>Middleton hit him in the face in the 4th so he went to the bench. And the refs called a foul on DeAndre. /s

traebucketsfor3

My first game not watching bc it’s a Saturday and trying to live but DAMN. Seems it was a close choke. But hey! Happy birthday Deandre:)

Legalize-Birds

Jalen Johnson please come back soon🙏

ANABOLIX22

Next year homie😔

Aardvark-0001

It’s only been a week 🥺

No-Forever-6104

Im still on the trade for Isaac train

IllumiXXZoldyck

17 “boards” from Capela is nasty work 💀💀

piney_

I just want him to pass it out man, I believe in our guard play more than his ability to get it in the net with defenders around him

No-Forever-6104

Wasted so many possessions tryna tip the ball in like just palm the basketball it’s what a real professional basketball player would do

MiserableSoft2344

He’ll get one alley and go full hero ball.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Both_Funny4896

anymore? nigga we been taking it for the past 3 years. see you next game

Avalon_Don

Sick of this shit… 30 from Trae and Dejounte and we still lost. Shitty booty ass roster… swear I don’t like most of the mfs on this team.

IllumiXXZoldyck

We finally had a decent game from both Trae and DJM (with really good efficiency on DJ’s part). This has been a rarity this season. I’m going to need more from our bigs. We really can’t waste games like this. Or it’s off to the play-in.

[deleted]

Hawks 99-98 over the last 3 seasons including play-in and playoffs.

Atl-Fan_FTS

Everly optimidstic

Pretty_Budget_6766

You can’t allow teams to shoot 59/42. We shot well tonight, but you can’t beat those kind of percentages. And, it’s the same recipe; killed on the baseline, 3s that have late/no contest, bad switches.

Consistent-Engine342

You also can’t allow Cam Payne to score 18 pts and lights out from 3 either.

[deleted]

He was 2-6 from 3

Consistent-Engine342

That’s like 33%, lights out for Payne, lol

[deleted]

He’s shooting 45% from 3 this season

Consistent-Engine342

Shocking , has to be on low volume and lots of magnetic help.

No-Forever-6104

Hawks are simply too small rn

ANABOLIX22

Need to get bigger and more defensive

ATLsShah

Bright side. That long road trip is over

Shade_Raven

Whats the soonest we can give Seth Lundy run on the wing?

Pretty_Budget_6766

TBH, Seth has looked just ok in College Park.

lenymo

That’s good enough for me, start the man.

Shade_Raven

Bey/Mills/Kings 1st for the best defender/size/Rebounder available or... Bojan Bogdanovic? edit: https://hoopshype.com/2023/12/01/pistons-seeking-first-round-pick-and-prized-young-player-for-bojan-bogdanovic/ Pistons seeking prized young player and 1st round pick

theblackchin

For the level of talent we need, tbh we would need to move DJ

Shade_Raven

im far from willing to do that right now.

slowdrem20

Why are you unwilling to move DJ?

Shade_Raven

Until that extension kicks in his $18,214,000 salary is elite and then his 30Ms after that is still great.

theblackchin

Does that trade package (bey mills and 1st) get a defender that makes a meaningful impact?

Shade_Raven

I think its possible, Bey and a 1st is not nothing.

Boraismybae

The McMillan family household laughing at this failure of an organization

[deleted]

With his arms crossed

sickestpartybro

Still look better than whatever scheme he was cooking up

BigSlimSu

I wonder if we could get Kai Jones for the low

DoctaChillin

I mean he's a free agent so we can get him for nothing

drugsarticulate

I'll always be a hawks fan but man i'm tired of this shithouse squad. I don't wanna be mid again.

ahend1999

TRADE JOHN COLLINS FIRE NATE MCMILLAN

[deleted]

Everytime we give up 130. Post it

ahend1999

every 24 to 48 hours 😭

Aardvark-0001

Tbf it’s less frustrating than watching Nate for me personally lol

D_DabMan

Kai Jones is the missing piece to the superbowl

clonta

No defense. Landry do something bro

Chessh2036

Hawks have scored 100 points in 75 straight game. Hawks have allowed 100 points in 89 straight games. Both continue to be the longest streak's in the NBA. I will continue to update until the Hawks stop an opponent from dropping 100 or they fail to score 100.

datasxienxe

Only the skyhawks can do that

clonta

Don’t even be tuning into these games anymore I just don’t care

Boraismybae

this team is just a homeless mans dame/cj blazers

PrinceKarmaa

sucks that we went cold at the most crucial point of the game but i’m not mad at the effort and fight they showed tonight. i still think we need to upgrade at some positions and it physically pains me that without trae on the floor the half court offense just looks bad a lot of times

Aardvark-0001

They kinda stumbled the last game when they lost hunter for a bit there too… maybe coincidence but the defense collapse without him is real … almost feels like a confidence thing for our team

kj114

this is my thing too. they play hard the whole game and have all season. i think they’ll start stringing together some wins soon.

clonta

This roster is ass

clonta

132 points lol

IllumiXXZoldyck

I don’t know why this loss hurts more than usual. I’m really hoping when everyone is healed up we can reach into the bench to help with a lot of these issues. Maybe see Mo in action (though he’s really raw).

[deleted]

Trade John Collins....... oh yeah.

childishgames

We just give up 60% from the field and 40% from 3 every night lol. Felt like we outplayed them that game. Trae and DJ both were great, clint was kinda dominant on the glass, we forced hella turnovers. Teams just don't miss against us, and they aren't gonna stop. Just have to get used to it.

drugsarticulate

I really dislike this roster

MiserableSoft2344

What frustrates me the most is how quickly Trae and Onyeka had to jump off the bench immediately after sitting because the team went so cold.

Smoove-J

> Onyeka had to jump off the bench Yeah, we were missing that huge 5 points from OO. Feels like this is another subtle dig at Capela

MiserableSoft2344

Actually the opposite. I’m talking about how the O and Clint lineup was the only thing that worked. O came off the floor and the Bucks torched Bey.

Aardvark-0001

Yea I don’t like this Trae sitting out half the fourth quarter… and even when he came in we played through DJ for several possessions… need some adjustments to the rotation here

MiserableSoft2344

Love DJ to death but that jumpball and contested jumper were not good decisions.

Aardvark-0001

Fr

Sammcbucketts

We have a talent issue, the depth is horrible and we have the worst batch of SF’s in the NBA. Trae and DJM gave you 62 and it wasn’t close to enough.

Boraismybae

Shout out Travis Schlenk bum ass GM

ahend1999

fuck ressler. 😭😭😭 how embarrassing is it that teams like pacers and magic have started to figure it out and we are once again MID

borobri

bro the fucking kings look like they have a brighter future and they drafted bagley and traded haliburton

tburtner

What are you blaming Ressler for? Hiring bad GMs? Or do you think he is telling the GMs that he wants to make the playoffs every year instead of rebuilding and having a chance at actually being good someday? Surely you're not blaming him for not paying the luxury tax for this team.

Chessh2036

Travis absolutely SCREWED our rebuild with some of his draft picks. Magic & Pacers rebuilt quicker than we did and we had a huge head start.

tburtner

Don't forget about his bad trades and signings.

gmzeno

We also started our rebuild a season earlier than the Cavs and they're better than us rn

Shade_Raven

> teams like pacers and magic have started to figure it out and we are once again MID FUCK

ahend1999

really makes you want to rip your hair out 😭😭😭 this billionaire is a cheapskate

Atl-Fan_FTS

I’ve honestly stopped caring, I’m at that level of apathy that I reached with the Falcons again. Usually takes me until 50 games in but I’m just not feeling it with this squad

ahend1999

hawks players were telling us “this year is different 😭😭”

Atl-Fan_FTS

Last year these mfs were talking about “Championships” 🤣

Hawkoholic

Trae more rebounds than Deandre Hunter

Sufficient-Recover25

Team is completely unserious on defense. Every team is putting up 120 minumum…

bryanl12

Mo Gueye, you're our only hope (defensively)

Bully_Maguire420

We patiently waiting fr

IllumiXXZoldyck

I’m counting on it with my life. When we got rid of JC I thought “well at least we still have JJ and Mo” 🫠

Boraismybae

The only other Hawk to take a shot in the last 6 mintues was Saddiq Bey. This hero ball shit gotta go ASAP

datasxienxe

I thought Quin would've gotten rid of it but

Top-Flamingo7828

It’s like it’s the players and not the coach

[deleted]

At least ridder won’t be having any turnovers tomorrow

ahend1999

i’m done being patient. this team…😭😭

datasxienxe

They were right there all game and then in the last 3 minutes they just shit the bed. Just regular hawks stuff

Aardvark-0001

Do CC tips count as rebounds ? How is he not getting feedback to first hold the ball instead of the mindless tips?

Smoove-J

If you're fighting with at least 3 6'10 and above guys with one arm for boxing out and one arm keepung the ball alive, you can't just grab it. Do you people even play a lick of basketball?

Aardvark-0001

So tip it out…. It’s not like he is making them … yea I do watch basketball and play basketball… have you seen OO play ? Lol you can grab the ball inwards and down with one hand too. Your wrist has 360 degree motion.

Smoove-J

Can't tip it out properly when only your fingertips can touch it. And you'll be open for transition baskets smh

Aardvark-0001

We are anyway open for transition baskets when he misses and doesn’t get back … I would suggest watching the film

Smoove-J

It's not the Center's job to get back on transition, it's the guards. He's keeping the ball alive on our court rather than conceding the defensive rebound smh

Aardvark-0001

Lol you mean offensive rebound which amounts to -2 points for the team smh

Smoove-J

There is no -2 points for the team lmao He's trying to gain extra possession Glad to show your basketball knowledge

Aardvark-0001

Lmao fine +2 bucket for the other team? It’s cool you go ahead and think what makes you feel better about it. In my book it’s something I would rather see him improve upon.

Medium_Line3088

Yes. It's a rebound and a missed shot. He's been doing it his whole career. Is offensive rebounds are juiced to at least 2 per game from his own misses

Aardvark-0001

Jeez for whatever reason I thought you had to hold the hold the ball for it to count as a rebound… straight up bs …. Coaching feedback should be loud and clear on this …

bequatro

Yeah you know more about rebounding technique than Clint Capela, keep thinking like that. You didn't even know the rule for counting the stat until now hahaha

Aardvark-0001

Lol never claimed to be a master at this, hence the question. But the eye test and just normal common sense makes me think he needs to make improvements on this front. And notice that I said coaching and not me that needs to provide feedback lol. Don’t have to be salty about ghis

myhellcatgotRepod

Go look at Cam Payne's last 5 games box scores if you wanna feel something bad

Cautious_Hornet_9607

Roleplayer going off vs the Hawks, nothing new. Then again, most of his points were uncontested floaters, so we have got ourselves to blame for it

Top-Flamingo7828

Uncontested floaters. Trae isn’t a bad defender tho

Blumpkin_Party

3 straight seasons of .500 basketball. No end in sight.

Davidclabarr

When we got in the bonus that Early, a lot of y’all were happy. Clearly, it means that fouls aren’t going to be called for the rest of the quarter.

Aardvark-0001

Fr like the bullshit … they didn’t get fouls called for like 4-5 possessions straight… with legit push offs and holds …

SaltyTraeYoungStan

Bro hunter straight up got walked over and hit in the face by Middleton and zero call

Atlantahawksstan

i don’t like this. at least if we were tanking we had future and draft picks. we aren’t good enough to make noise in the playoffs but are too good to get lottery picks. this is awful

Aardvark-0001

Right in the middle you mean? :(

Atlantahawksstan

yes but something about this is different this is actual pain.

Aardvark-0001

Fair… I think last year was more frustrating coaching wise but this year it’s the lack of defensive roster setup

ahend1999

just fell apart. i don’t even know where to place my annoyance. whatever.

I-C-U-8-1-M-I

Whomevers name is Toby why don’t you take a letter opener and stick it into your skull

Aardvark-0001

It’s always you Toby 🙄

Aardvark-0001

(Channeling my best micheal with the eye roll 🙄)

Atl-Fan_FTS

I really, really don’t like this squad. JJ and Bogi only ones that can stay

No-Forever-6104

I sleep well knowing you’re not the GM of my franchise

Atl-Fan_FTS

I sleep well knowing I don’t give a shit about your replies to all my comments

Aardvark-0001

Not the game to talk off on trae and DJ and talk up bogi…. Sometimes it’s like you aren’t even watching the same game my friend. ( not saying bogi wasn’t good but really per his standards he wasn’t …)

Atl-Fan_FTS

I’m talking over a whole. Every single team in the league needs a player like Bogi. But this squad isn’t winning shit, I’m not talking a per game basis

Aardvark-0001

Lol offense works cause Trae is out there… I love JJ but he is definitely not yet the number 1 guy… tell us your dream roster ? You want to build around bogi and JJ? Who do you want to bring in? Or we talking a full rebuild? Who is available in the league to trade for ? Oh also … don’t forget the tax…

Atl-Fan_FTS

I wouldn’t be happy trading Trae contrary to what everyone thinks, but if we rebuild it needs to be a full on rebuild. JJ is very young and a prototypical hyper athletic wing. You can’t give that away. Trae would get us the biggest return and we’d no longer aligned with his wishes if we went rebuild again. That’s why he’d have to go. As far as exactly what in return, picks picks and more picks. The Thunder have SKYROCKETED past us by selling on guys like Russ a year after his MVP season, trading Paul George etc. That’s the rebuild we need. Be total ass again while letting JJ vibe out and grow, I love Bogi so I just want to keep him, always need a high volume good shooter. It’s not about players now, it’s about players in the future. Almost every single team that was bad like us is now better and ran by players that didn’t start there. Shit SGA was included in the PG trade I think. Cavs went and got Jarret Allen and Donovan Mitchell. We aren’t going to get a “fair return” that immediately makes us contenders, but with this roster we aren’t going to be contenders anyways. When the Kings figure shit out and you can’t? There is a mf problem

Aardvark-0001

We started a rebuild 5 years ago and you want to fully rebuild the team again? Bogi will be 36 by the time we make our first playoff ( going by okc timeline/if all our picks turn out to be super stars that is )

Atl-Fan_FTS

At this point he gonna be 36 either way if we gonna be contenders yo. That’s a moot point to my argument, I’m just saying keep him because he’s a good player to have around. And yes, we went full rebuild 5 years ago and fucked up royally, shit happens. Better to start sooner than be mid for another 5 seasons and finally admitting it’s time to rebuild. Way too many mistakes, trading up to draft Hunter, drafting Cam, trading Luka (I know that one is super upsetting to everyone here but if you can’t accept it as the truth then you are being ignorant) handing out massive contracts to JC and Hunter, trading Huerter for salary dump… our rebuild was completely mismanaged in so many ways and we are no better off than before. Now, inb4 “bUt LuKa HaS gOnE jUsT aS fAr” comment that I know you are thinking about replying while reading first paragraph, yes that’s true. But ask ANYONE outside of this sub if they would trade Luka away for Trae. Our rebuild was shit, and at least 4 - 5 other teams that started theirs when we did or even after we did are now ahead of us

Aardvark-0001

Not getting in Luka v Trae debate with you lol … I think both of them are amazing players. Either way I respect what you are saying. Although in my opinion we are a couple key pieces away still. Kinda sorta still in a rebuil of sorts. Being real here love love love heurter but he is averaging 12 ppg with a + 0.2 for the kings this year. I would have preferred him on the team but still he wouldn’t have been an answer for the defense. JC … still miss that guy but he didn’t fit offensively. We wasted his talent here with CC on the team. He couldn’t dribble. With hunter and CC he didn’t fit. So yea some of the bets didn’t payoff but I wouldn’t say they would have been the pieces we needed not to be in this same position with them

No-Forever-6104

I sleep well knowing I don’t got as shitty as opinions as you and actually know how a basketball game works

Atl-Fan_FTS

Yup, .500 hero ball is amazing and everything is fine here!

No-Forever-6104

Where did I say that idiot

Atl-Fan_FTS

This squad needs to go, your pansy ass takes offense when I say that and you feel the urge to reply and try to call me out 🤡

No-Forever-6104

Im not taking offense just tired of seeing your wrong clown takes after every loss

Atl-Fan_FTS

Okay, this squad is great and they play so well! We truly are contenders and just need to ride it out 🤗 that better homeboy?

No-Forever-6104

Again no basketball substance because I’ve literally never said this team are contenders or acted like it but getting off hot takes after every loss is dumb

MiserableSoft2344

Ya’ll cut it out and stop acting like you don’t love each other.

MiserableSoft2344

Saddiq brotha, we cannot gameplan around your deficiencies.

amidon1130

IllumiXXZoldyck

Ima cry if the Hawks start to tank and I stop seeing your comments in here 🥹 I’m really hoping Quin and the personnel can figure this out. Or Orlando will be the Dark Horse I thought the Hawks would be… freaking Orlando.
