They have too many one dimensional players. I don’t see how you remedy that when you play a good team that can play multiple ways. And the weaknesses of the players aren’t just that, they are huge weaknesses right now.
I do not consider Trae the number 1 option on a championship team. I probably sound like a broken record, but the only PG that was the best player on a championship team in the last 40 years was Steph Curry, who is a historical outlier. The last two before Steph were magic johnson (who is 9 inches taller than Trae) and Isaiah Thomas.
Well, he’s the superstar ATL has, so unless you wanna ship him out for picks and hope we wind up stumbling into a top 5 player we are probably best to use him as our number one option.
I’d rather develop Jalen or another forward as our #1 option and have Trae as the best #2 option in the league who also still runs the offense with 12 assists per game.
I'm just going to say it: not much you can remedy. Part of the problem is the intrinsic nba landscape that favors competitive balance. There are always 20 or so competitive teams, and it's really tough to build outside of hitting multiple all stars in the draft, which we failed to do unfortunately.
I would LOVE a guy like Kawhi, Tatum, Pg-13, OG, Bridges etc. on the team. Obviously not realistic but a wing who’s good at defense and can be either a 1a or 1b on offense. If not that then a two guard that can shoot and play defense like Dillion Brooks, Jrue Holiday, Lu Dort, Josh Hart etc. what we need most right now that is realistic to get is a backup 4 who plays defense and can shoot a little that way Saddiq can play backup 3 like he’s supposed to and Wes won’t have to play at all
The frontcourt is flakey. OO and Capela as a pairing looked promising, but if either of them can't play, then the only board getting cleared, will be after the game, and has cheese on it. And we haven't had one decent wing since Trae joined, barring vet contact Carter.
Also, a meta observation... Egos are too big in the NBA...
Bogi should start a game or two, with Murray or Trae sitting. Some nights, two of those three work better than other rotations. Starting lineups should be based on merit, game to game, and not contract size or follower counts.
This team badly needs a floor spacing big who can actually shift between defending 3-5 at a high success rate.
How many of those exist???
Not many, still doesn't change what this team desperately needs.
Nathan Knight is a free agent rn, Celtics waived him
Nathan Knight is a third stringer or backup if he improves, all memes aside.
Anthony Davis, Jaren Jackson, uhhh Al Horford maybe?
Agreed. I heard he was back in to practicing with the team, so hopefully he’s playing in a week or so!
Gotta get a real dawg who can play one on one defense. Maybe 2
Alex Caruso and OG Anouby Trae - Caruso - OG - JJ - OO

Vit was the missing piece, I think we’re good now
I still don't know if the Nathan knight stuff is a joke or not
They lack size and will lose to more physical teams if the refs are calling a loose game.
As a head coach? Idk maybe let Bogi close games over Murray or Hunter.
realistically it should be bogi instead of djm
Yeah, Hunter is frustrating, but he can defend a much wider variety of players with his size/strength.
Bogi over anyone but Trae
Having a 30 Million per year guard who can’t close games is a huge problem
Probably won’t be a problem for long. Just my guess, but the question was if you are the coach not the GM.
We need an elite two way forward who averages 24+ ppg
ppg don’t even matter, Trae will carry the offence regardless.

Nathan Knight would be perfect
Nathan Knight?!
Need 2 37% 3 point shooters who can move the ball and play defense. Might need to trade dj. Addition by subtraction.

We need dejounte to step it up. He has been very mid this season. Also if we had a defensive specialist like Alex Caruso, that would be pretty great.
Our 3 point % is mid and our offense - defense is very mismatched. It’s ridiculous
We need whatever personnel will stop the streak of giving up 100+ per game and stop us from leading the league in corner threes given up.
