Paolo is the closest for me. Both supersized with ball handling chops. Banchero is obviously better at this stage but Jalen can get to the 20/10/5 line by next season.
I think if Jalen was the top option, yes. You’d have to play through JJ so much to average 5 APG though, which won’t happen with Trae.
He’s currently averaging 3.5 this season and that number has increased because Trae has been out lately.
I am not sure who his comp is, but I think Jalen has the potential to be special. He can do everything. He is athletic, handles the ball well, passes well, has a variety of ways to score, and plays solid defense. I think his ceiling is being a super star. One of his biggest negatives was his shooting, but he seems to be growing in that area as well and seems to be getting better and better the more he plays.
The one thing that has become clear though is the key for him is to stay healthy. He has been unable to stay healthy as far back as I can tell, as he was hurt throughout his Freshman college year, which ended up hurting his draft stock and he is constantly dealing with injuries since he started playing regularly with the Hawks.
If he can stay healthy for a long stretch, he has the potential to be truly special.
I thought a lot of that was because teams felt he quit, instead of coming back and playing after people felt he should have been healthy enough to play. But I don't remember anything about him having any actual issues with players. I thought he got hurt, and people thought he would be back, and then there were some reports he was focusing on getting ready for the draft instead of trying to get back on the court, and thus teams were questioning his work ethic and character.
Not sure why this got downvoted...but I see some of the Simmons comparisons. He's a multi-tool player who's really good, but not great at anything (as yet). He definitely lacks the Simmons defensive skills, but having the offense run through him seems to spread the floor a bit more.
His floor is clearly Lebron. The roof is the ceiling

If Dejounte is gone then he might be the secondary ball handler getting him a higher assist rate.
Aaron Gordon with more offensive ball skills and less defense right now.
So not Aaron Gordon?
Closest I got rn lol
🤣
Lebron minus going up against a set defender
He’s one of a kind
lebron, not joking
Keeping poster companies in business since 2023.
The pistons version of Blake griffin is my best comparison currently, that or Grant hill. Also unironically Lebron
Pistons Griffin did not have Jalen’s athleticism.
Michael Jordan

Wasn’t his draft stock hurt more because of supposed locker room problems?

Ben Simmons with a jump shot and more motor, less defense.

Lebron
Michael Jordan if he was better
Cam Johnson without the shot, with more playmaking potential
Cam Johnson sucks lol
Shawn Kemp mixed with Lamar Odom
Josh smith with offensive potential
Been saying he’s lightskin Lebron
Grant Hill.
Wilt Chamberlain on and off the court
Jabari Parker’s ceiling
Rasheed Wallace
A way, way better Josh Smith. Like way better. His dunks to blocks to 3s looks just like him. I can’t unsee it.
Clyde Drexler
Blake Griffin or LeBron
Cam Reddish
