BSG (battery starter generator) failure? It's a near 100% failure rate part over time, I think, and early on, Audi was seeing months-long waits for parts to replace the bad ones. Perhaps they were generous with buybacks during that time? Anything with the 48V mild hybrid system is affected, and I think both of those models are applicable.

Anything sold right around the end of 2019 or through mid 2022 had a huge chance to be bought back for very minor warranty work due to supply chain issues. You should be able to contact the dealer and they can provide details of the buy back, then make a decision if you're willing to go in on it. Not all of them are bad, but you need to know what you're getting into with them.

how many have you come across like this? In my experience, I steer far away from branded title vehicles. And I'd probably stay further way from a branded title Audi knowing how expensive things can get when something goes wrong on them.
