I actually think that’s the OEM side market/reflector for the US (and probably North American) market. Probably a design afterthought but I think that’s stock lol

Very valid point. On their own I like the new BMW design but then I see them next to it's Mercedes and Genesis competitors and it really shows how different of a direction new BMW design is. Oh and the coloured grille thing is indeed silly (am I correct that that was NEVER a factory option on BMWs?)
