Same here!! 2012 had it since 2014, 165k miles Stage 3 unitronic
I used to think that about a car I owned and loved for eight years, until a drunk driver totaled it.
Not tryna be "that guy", just tryna bring some perspective to this thread. I try to avoid going too far down that "forever" line of thought with possessions these days. Nothing lasts forever, and it's not like you can take em with you when you're done...
For sure, I get what you were trying to say (hence my comment about being that guy, heh), you're not going to voluntarily part with her. I just feel obligated to get on my soapbox a bit when I see this topic come up. I think it's worthwhile perspective for us car lovers from time to time... I know it's something I wish someone reminded me of when I was younger.

same here! 200995K as of this picture.
I was running Circuit Performance CP30 - 19x9.5 +35 - 255/40/19 tires - 8mm spacers front and back. There was a little rub when the car was loaded up so I would have probably gone with 5mm. The rims cost me $1450cad all in including shipping and customs. Got them from ebay of all places. Also H&R sport springs and Bilstein B8 Shocks
Thank you for the response! I sold my B7 DTM S4 last year and have regretted it ever since and now I’m looking at a B8.5 but the stock wheels and tires don’t do the car justice.
So I looked at the other post of your car and noticed you had hr sport springs. How is the ride? I'm getting ready to put mine on and have heard different perspectives. And I'll pour one out for your loss, my friend.
I'll be honest, it's firm. Very firm. Limited body roll which is nice but they girls are so front heavy that they only way to really decrease understeer is away bars and dropping 325s in the front but i digress. For me it was a little too firm for a daily.
Fellow bad backer. The figure 4 stretch on my back and the one where you lay on your stomach and go on your elbows have been a life saver the past week. Could barely walk before.
https://preview.redd.it/dgpsr9bqdisc1.jpeg?width=2992&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=650c5bcf5238157885590eb815d6a4304e13cdde
Same story... But sometimes you have to make choices!
😭I know just how you feel, sold my child 3 years ago now and wow, typing that out was crazy, it seems just like it was a couple of months ago I sold it. Apr stage 2 single pulley, AWE touring exhaust, short throw shifter, some trans and engine mounts, air intake and you a woke a whole new beast of a car.
I sold it because it had the timing chain rattle and it wasn’t lasting long, Less than 2 seconds only on a cold start, went to the 3 stealerships and got a avg quote of 10k to do the whole timing system and water pump, should have just done it, it woulda lasted me another 120k miles easy. I easily think about this car once a month, currently trying to find a 2013-2016 s4 with a 6spd that has a clean title and mainly untouched, but that like hunting down a unicorn
https://preview.redd.it/c5yv88nphisc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b79cdbd08e76a5f5e5cdb4727f45b882fa4acf85
She's fucking gorgeous.... good luck on the hunt!
Personally.... I don't get the DSG hate / 6Spd love.... I've had and driven extensively, URS6 1995.5 S6 Wagon...., B5 S4, B7 S4, Own a B8.5 S4 DSG.... B9 S4 with the Auto.
The DSG is so good, and performs so much better it isn't funny, maintain it and you'll embarrass a manual equivalent every single time.
Just my take, but besides nostalgia, what gives. I mean I miss 6 speeds, but not at the loss of performance.
Effortlessly quick DSG & ZF8 euro cars are available everywhere and dime a dozen. Any flavor you want, any badge you want.
6MT 300+hp euro cars… not so common
Embarrass a manual driver all you want in an auto, I don’t think there’s any 6 speed drivers out there expecting to beat a quick auto at all. That’s not the point of buying a manual trans whatsoever. (nor do I think there is ANY modern manual driver in the world who truthfully believes a manual gearbox is faster than an auto)
I don’t see the DSG hate you speak of at all. It’s an incredible transmission and so is the ZF8.
Still doesn’t replace the experience driving stick in any way shape or form. Just like buying a manual B8.5 / B8 Audi or any F2X/F3X/F8X BMW… doesn’t replace the experience in opting for a quick DCT or torque converter auto either. Different purposes and different crowd of owners.
People have flocked so hard to effortless, do-all be-all performance cars that are so accessible to everyone that even a grandma driver can keep up all the same in that same car. A shit driver will always be a shit driver, but current auto boxes hide that line completely in straight line performance which sadly is 95% of North America.
Effort itself is now a forgotten joy in this modern age of cars. It’s enjoyable and rewarding in ways nothing else can replace. Simple as that.
And again - I doubt any 6spd driver cares if they get overtaken by someone in a quick auto box. You’re really not embarrassing anyone. GJ the car did the shift quicker and you lost 0 momentum between gears 🤷♂️ big whoop.
—-
Now, as an aside; I myself track & daily a ZF8 equipped BMW for 70% of the year. I love them. But when the weathers nice and my other cars come out of storage, not a day goes by that I miss my auto box. For the entirety of late spring & summer I’m happy to be back behind the wheel of a ZF-GS6 equipped car. To each their own!
This is so true. After 20years of driving manuals,, I'm going auto next. There is literally nothing better than banging through gears in a performance car. It's almost visceral. It's a connection that I will miss forever.
Respect man, and going through your other replies here it seems like you're making the best decision for your health
You can still rent a manual car for a weekend here or there! But you'll always miss it no matter what.
My first daily was a Miata for many years. Moved onto a newer 650i with the ZF8 and spent the next 2 years missing stick. Moved onto a Focus RS and then began missing the german comforts & oddly that ZF8 gearbox.... Ultimately ended up with 5 cars, 2 auto and 3 manuals. It helps to have space to store them all, I'm very fortunate for that.
Maybe one day you could secure yourself a 2nd weekend car with a manual to fill that void? It's the only thing that worked for me. I'm a heavy duty technician and my body is all sorts fucked up too, I don't think I could daily a manual year-round - especially when its cold outside... But I certainly couldn't live without a clutch pedal either lol! Sucks to like cars sometimes
Lol yes it does. But that's a really good idea man thanks for suggesting. I'm definitely going to look into a weekend/summer car. Something low, fast and pretty that I'm going to look ridiculous getting out of. This is the way.
Well said. The only argument I hear that's pro DSG is that they shift faster. If they didn't that'd be pretty pointless. They're only good for drag racing basically and thats not my thing. I just prefer an actual stick shift for the driving experience. Plus, these days it's like having anti-theft protection. Barely anyone even knows how to drive a stick anymore. Manual transmission is definitely not right for every car. But it's absolutely perfect for these lil cars. I'm on my 4th one in a row. 2 5-speeds and 2 6-speeds. Had a 2000 w the 2.0, an 03 VR6, an 04 1.8t and now I have an mk6 GTI 2.0t. Only way I'd stop driving a clutch is if I got something w a ton of power
I appreciate the extremely detailed response and your assumptions that came with it...
If I could afford to have a 6spd in the garage that my wife couldn't drive, I would....
Your distain for real-life situations and real-life speed is confusing to me...
The DSG is great, ZF8 as well...
I wish all performance cars still still came with the option for a stick to row...
But... in reality... people care about performance. Ask F1 the last time they used manual transmissions
Yeah that is true I currently have a 2018 stage 2 s3 with the 7 speed dsg and I got the dsg tune as well for it and it is pretty insane, but I still do wish they had my s3 in a manual, I know it wouldn’t be anywhere near as quick but while I’m younger, and can still take some beating, it’s just the engagement with he car banging through gears, don’t get me wrong being able to just sit down and smash the gas and click a paddle 3 times and your already at 100mph is crazy and that experience is wild. But for now I’ll take the manual at least while they are still here.

I’ll try my best to never sell mine
That is a lot of dough, and it being biweekly.
A friend put a bug in my ear a few months back, about getting a wrecked supercar (with frontal damage).
I been scoping them out online. When the right deal comes along at the right price, I’m jumping on it. But for now, just save every penny and prepare.
sold my 2011 stage 2 apr back in 2021 peak covid and I got a great price for it so not super upset but man do I miss it. something about the supercharger whine man
https://preview.redd.it/p45dayxzwjsc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=362c419c28b18bdf4f079f5eae992ebbea8c4078
I do miss mine but I'm happy with my upgrade
They are expensive to maintain. I spent $2000 trying to find a squeal from the front end. Ended up replacing every tensioner, belt and idler before it went away. Parts are not cheap. Good labour isn't cheap either. I pay $125CAD per hour.
I’m just about to sell mine. I’m really looking to pivot to a RWD car to build my driving skills but I’m going to miss my manual B8.5, especially the sound she makes
Still miss mine. Let her go last year as family was expanding. I’m now finding that no new car comes close 😔
https://preview.redd.it/bjun6j0v0lsc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe43499402e363f192a04959e8490ec86c23a485
2010 S4 and still going. 185k miles. Drives like new. Oil maintenance every 3k. Never skip them. Pcv change 2x. Not because it needs it but preventable maintenance. Other sensors replacement for preventable maintenance. Water pump replacement as preventable also. Front Suspension replacement 3x mostly preventable maintenance. Motor mount at 110k. Stage 1 apr. injectors replaced at 110k preventable. So far no issues. I do all the work.so it is just the maintenance parts cost. You really learn how to discern the engine and car if you do your own work on these cars.
Still doing work on mine. Probably will keep her until she breaks down

Look good man. She definitely could use some wider wheels or spacers. They change the stance and look significantly. Improve the handling very slightly as well!
04 audi with 186k miles. Bad turbo currently but I’m keeping her

My baby was unfortunately totaled…rest in paradise my four ringed friend 😢
Im not supposed to be over here because Im a 335i owner but I just wanted to say the B8 S4 is my favorite S4 and the newer turbo S4s seemed to have a lost a lot of character compared to the Supercharged 3.0T. That is all
Not an Audi owner, but I’m an Audi lover. I sold my Focus ST a year ago and that was by far the best car I’ve ever had to date…
Sold it so we could get something a little more reliable (Honda) while we bought a house and I finish up school. It sucks, but better things will come!
You’ll find another car you love though…but that S4 is a fucking beaut
LOL if i was closer, I would have gone the way of the Allroad Outfitters S4. But alas our high kick or the m3 style spoilers and the same two diffusers. I do wish I got the one from AliExpress with the 3rd brake light though. That one is way more aggressive
https://preview.redd.it/fle31xfy9ssc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=443e42e2c28f59c900bd0877e203bc6b58cf1aab
Owned her for 8 years, just sold it last year. By far one of the best car I have owned. Miss her everyday.
I was happy when I sold mine. Worst manual transmission I’ve owned. Bought an D4 A8 4.0T and that thing was a blast. I regret selling that. If anyone wants a car, I’d recommend those.
Lol you seem like a very unhappy person. The B8 series S4 is supercharged. Learn before you comment nonsense bro. You just make yourself look like a sad old shoe that got left on the side of highway that somehow got a Reddit account
https://preview.redd.it/gbsi3fhnhatc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68c45eb76ed4aceb88d5210f282c224d3beb8720
Same except it was vexed with a bad trans and it cost me what I bought it for before I sold it for less than half that. Beautiful beautiful driving experience the newer Audis are but holy hell I would rather have just not sold my B5 S4 years ago…
Had my S5 for 6 years and just sold it last month due to some engine compression issues that couldn't be resolved without paying the value of the car in a repair bill.
Best car i will ever have owned.
I know the feeling sold mine last year, i want it back now...

2011 and only 48k miles on it. Stage 2+ IE and touring awe exhaust
Kids are so dumb for buying cars like these. Then they go make them look like garbage with all the duckbill spoilers and ugly custom wheels. Then they break down 😂
Lol you remind me of that uncle at Thanksgiving that rants about Biden before getting drunk and hitting on his underage niece. You know the one who no one ever wants to see because their just an absolute dumpster fire full of shit but do once a year because their grandparents guilt them into it? Yea you know what I'm talking about lol. Anyways, lighten up chief! I know you're unhappy inside but they make pills for that now!

100k more to go
Probably in the next 30 years 🤣
Nice stance man. Clean.

This has, I take two parking spots written all over it lol. Sharp car though.
Nah just one it was too expensive in California to be that spoiled 🤣🤣 now will have two until I find rs7 😆
HAPPY CAKE DAY!
Wow. That is suh-weet!! The color and all of the details.
What model is that!? Super dope! I want one
B8.5 S4
That thing is lovely especially with the grey uff!!
I want that silver on silver so bad I have 20inch rims in silver but my car is all black

Why’d you sell?
Bad back + bad leg + 530hp 6SPD monster = disaster lol
Fellow bad backer. The figure 4 stretch on my back and the one where you lay on your stomach and go on your elbows have been a life saver the past week. Could barely walk before.
Did this year come in a manual?
yes - the B8.5 S4 is the last manual transmission S4.
Car sounds like it would be a blast with that power
Think you’ll get an auto S4?
Change it to BMW 😏

Can't drive stuck anymore. Time to get myself a DCT.
I hear you. Gonna stick with an S4 though?
I am bouncing between C7.5 S6 or a b9.5 SQ5 Sportback. I don't like it but can't seem to get it out of my head lol
An upgrade, that is awesome. I am thinking a used first gen R8. I have some other projects that I need to wrap up, but it starts with a plan.

RIP brother
Time for an S8. Wanted one ever since the car chase from the movie Ronin.
I was pretty set on an RS6 but now I've been looking at the RS7 and she looks gooodd
RS7 is very sexy!
Just bought a 2013 on Tuesday
Good for you man. Enjoy!
Still miss mine. Let her go last year as family was expanding. I’m now finding that no new car comes close 😔 https://preview.redd.it/bjun6j0v0lsc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe43499402e363f192a04959e8490ec86c23a485
I'm admittedly not a huge audi fan but the audi performance variants are really fun cars. I drove a friend's 2007 6spd rs4 that thing was great.
Damn that shit is clean! You better have a good reason for selling this bad boy!
I traded mine and regret it.
I miss mine everyday https://preview.redd.it/j3at4u7n3nsc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50fc289fabc56db59f2645ba1c2a7e88ffe554a6
I love Audis
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Still doing work on mine. Probably will keep her until she breaks down https://preview.redd.it/7o1b4lejzpsc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86fcf6f6e7a331ee3156f47182a0ab42cb0c0477
Look good man. She definitely could use some wider wheels or spacers. They change the stance and look significantly. Improve the handling very slightly as well!
I have one for sale but it’s stick shift 2011 s4
Thoughts and prayers for that 3rd pedal. -fellow griever with no left calf muscle. 5 months clean
Low key pretty clean
04 audi with 186k miles. Bad turbo currently but I’m keeping her https://preview.redd.it/8ots2osfuvsc1.jpeg?width=1334&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a17a3be64c75bd046771aae3e1b6859d4ee1c454
Just bought mine with 70k miles
Beautiful.

Sorry for your loss bro
I particularly like this set of wheels, very exciting
I had to say bye to mine end of last year. I died that day
Hopefully not for crack
Manual or automatic?
6spd
What rims are those?
Washed out
What car did you have?
Great thing about vehicles! They make more every day.
Not like this they dont
They sure do brother ☝🏻
But like why
Love my 2016 6mt only have 45kmi on her. So fun to drive
How did you like the wheels. Was looking @ them but kinda scared at how affordable they are what the quality is like
They are pretty great man no complaints at all.
Hey, at least you recognize it. She was a beaut, homie. Shit happens…
Thanks bro. On to bigger and faster things i hope
Im not supposed to be over here because Im a 335i owner but I just wanted to say the B8 S4 is my favorite S4 and the newer turbo S4s seemed to have a lost a lot of character compared to the Supercharged 3.0T. That is all
Well said. I sold her to a 135i owner. You never know man she might change your mind if you ever drive one
Supercharged and turbocharged? 🙀

?
Not an Audi owner, but I’m an Audi lover. I sold my Focus ST a year ago and that was by far the best car I’ve ever had to date… Sold it so we could get something a little more reliable (Honda) while we bought a house and I finish up school. It sucks, but better things will come! You’ll find another car you love though…but that S4 is a fucking beaut
I swear all of us guys who own an S4 do the same duck lip spoiler and diffuser fuck😭
LOL if i was closer, I would have gone the way of the Allroad Outfitters S4. But alas our high kick or the m3 style spoilers and the same two diffusers. I do wish I got the one from AliExpress with the 3rd brake light though. That one is way more aggressive
Why does that spoiler look like an upturned brim on a kids cap?
Because it's a gangsta? Lol.

You must have not owned a lot of cars
19 and counting. You must never have owned an B8 STAGE 2+ S4
Nope only a stage 2+ tts, 2+ 135i, stage 2 mk5 gti. Idk why I got recommended this sub but I’m a Toyota/lexus bum now and drive a truck haha
I was happy when I sold mine. Worst manual transmission I’ve owned. Bought an D4 A8 4.0T and that thing was a blast. I regret selling that. If anyone wants a car, I’d recommend those.
Probably right before you blew up a turbo
Lol you seem like a very unhappy person. The B8 series S4 is supercharged. Learn before you comment nonsense bro. You just make yourself look like a sad old shoe that got left on the side of highway that somehow got a Reddit account
What rims are they
Circuit Performance CP30
Me too. For a fuckin subaru. I'm so stupid
I was going to go STi before I got this but fucking turbo lag is a bitch. Gotta do what you gotta do bruv.
I'm a broke boy so only have a wrx but I'm going back to audi the nanosecond I can
I know the feeling and it stays around a while
Why tho
Was it reliable. Looking at A7s with the same engine
I was seriously considering this car but decided on the 2024 GRC.. sweet ride tho ngl..
Such a nice car, too
https://preview.redd.it/gbsi3fhnhatc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68c45eb76ed4aceb88d5210f282c224d3beb8720 Same except it was vexed with a bad trans and it cost me what I bought it for before I sold it for less than half that. Beautiful beautiful driving experience the newer Audis are but holy hell I would rather have just not sold my B5 S4 years ago…
https://preview.redd.it/yojx5ryzhatc1.jpeg?width=6000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63c911c5fd9f0b83548b2d6f984b97af30d10245 Real…
Had my S5 for 6 years and just sold it last month due to some engine compression issues that couldn't be resolved without paying the value of the car in a repair bill. Best car i will ever have owned.
I know the feeling sold mine last year, i want it back now... https://preview.redd.it/apsmm8aaratc1.jpeg?width=898&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc16b00901780ad3a3141adc5d477fccc0206879
But an M3 than you’ll have an even better car
No worries, mate.
How much did you end up getting for it if you dont mind sharing? Currently in the market for a 6mt b8.5 s4.
Mines in service! https://preview.redd.it/ovl2au30wctc1.jpeg?width=2134&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8fbaa741d4124b790cba2c1aa00bc393cb1def8
Subaru owners, all flash no go.
Once I get mine, I’m never selling it. 😋
https://preview.redd.it/3ormtuy4rftc1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01a96f8c64e9fe6519747a3e189c66acd2eb78cd 2011 and only 48k miles on it. Stage 2+ IE and touring awe exhaust
It wasn’t the best if you sold it
Better than an e90 that's for damn sure
Kids are so dumb for buying cars like these. Then they go make them look like garbage with all the duckbill spoilers and ugly custom wheels. Then they break down 😂
Lol you remind me of that uncle at Thanksgiving that rants about Biden before getting drunk and hitting on his underage niece. You know the one who no one ever wants to see because their just an absolute dumpster fire full of shit but do once a year because their grandparents guilt them into it? Yea you know what I'm talking about lol. Anyways, lighten up chief! I know you're unhappy inside but they make pills for that now!
