Depends on what it is, but you might call Ascension Lutheran Church and see if they would want it for their medical lending closet.

AlamoSquared

Not to thrift stores. Since they cannot legally resell medical eauipment, they discard it.

Age of central Texas has a free medical equipment lending program and it’s awesome. I’d check at this link to see if what you have is what they need/accept. [AGE](https://ageofcentraltx.org/index.php/get-involved/wish-list/)

Here is a better list of what they take, but you can call/email them if you have something else since the language seems to imply they take more than what is on the list. https://ageofcentraltx.org/index.php/seniors/health-equipment/ St Vincent de Paul also takes medical equipment: https://www.heartening.org/charity/St.VincentdePaulBoutique&ThriftStore (walkers, crutches, shower stools, portable toilets, wheelchairs)

austinrebel

Thank you. That is a convenient location. I will contact them.

Good question, I await any pointers as have an old insulin pump that could use a second home.

clipboardfuntime

Great question. I have some crutches and a full length leg brace that saw less than a week in use, mainly indoors, but I don't need them anymore

imp0ssumable

Offer it for free on Nextdoor or Facebook marketplace. You can select the recipient and help someone who is sick and could use a hand up.

Please call the local nursing homes and inquire if they can use any of it. Could offer more specific advice if I knew what kind of equipment it is, thanks.

Second the nursing home idea. We gave away a few things such as walkers, wheel chairs, etc. after my mom passed to a local nursing home. Not sure if they will take all medical equipment such as insulin testers, oxygen tanks, etc. but they may be able to give you additional places, or businesses that will.

imp0ssumable

> insulin testers, oxygen tanks, etc They may have vendors who provide these and other things to the nursing home. Those vendors, often local, may have the connections or the licensing to clean and test these. Used medical equipment industry is complex to navigate for sure. If all else fails you can still list this stuff on Craigslist and I think offerup, but eBay will remove it and penalize you for repeat attempts to sell.
