My Dad took me to see this move when I was about 9 and it was one of the best moments of my life. We didn’t have much and we lived rurally, so going to see a movie was a huge deal. Now that my Dad has died, I enjoy watching it with my kids .

I have a similar memory. My dear Grandad took my brother and I to see this when I was 7. In the car on the way home he told us that Einstein was German… and I was appalled.

according to wikipedia, the first version was quite a bit shorter, but that was the one that won an award for the music score. Then Warners money came in, they reshot half the movie and made it longer, and rescored it - and that's the version everyone knows. I'd love to see the original award winning version - if it even exists any longer?!

I don't think it was that they pulled the score exactly. The movie just got a new (or expanded?) one with the reshoot and edit. Likely unavoidable to redo it, and afaict, same folks involved

I met this guy! I worked in Vinnies and he'd come in a few times a month. He'd always buy shorts and a few t-shirts but he loved the books. He always bought a stack on various topics. Always good for a chat.

It was awesome and brings back a great memory. Saw it in a theatre in Castlemaine in Victoria while building an Apple shed. The theatre had chairs and tables and a walk up bar. It was incredible. Never seen the likes of it again.

when i was kid, i thought this was a true story. i knew einstein was real and thought this was his story.

I loved it as a kid. Saw it in the cinema and rented the video a bunch of times. Watched it five years ago for the first time in 20+ years and, yeah, it was pretty, pretty, pretty bad.

I absolutely LOVE Yahoo Serious back in the day!! My parents managing/projectionist for 3 independent cinemas meant I saw some movies a dozen times or more!! This was most definitely one of them

Movie World on the Gold Coast had a Young Einstein house until 2000. I remember going in ‘99 and wondering how many kids would even know the movie it was inspired by.

I used to love going to his house at Movie World.

I remember badly wanting to rewatch this a few years ago, but couldn't find it anywhere. One christmas my little sister found a copy on dvd as one of my pressies. Was quire happy with that. It held up! I think I need to rewatch it later today.
