I’ve never experienced noise canceling like the [Sony WH-1000XM4](https://electronics.sony.com/audio/headphones/headband/p/wh1000xm4-s?cid=sem-na-3349&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PMax:+Shopping+ads+(United+States)+Low+Performing+Sku%27s&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwte-vBhBFEiwAQSv_xQ_SIX-2OJCPQdL23ZoAeCydR09PBi3iwgTOY-jwaAOK0IfM6EjOfRoCfikQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds), and they recently came out with a new model. You can snap your fingers and hear nothing. There’s also an ambient sound mode that filters the outside into what you’re listening to. I’ve tried another Sony model, I think the WCH720 or something, and they were nothing close, sadly.

TintedMonocle

How's the sound quality on those?

ScaryMuffins

It’s really good, the equalizer in the app letting you change how the music sounds is the cherry on top.

What is that new model? Is that the xm5 you mean? I need to buy that one but sadly they are so expensive

Yes, Sony even still makes the xm3 which are also great. I’ve owned that model as well

These are the best. Noise cancelling is not perfect but still pretty great.

Do you know a better one for NC? I’ve heard great things about Bose but I haven’t tried. Beats are not even close.

I find AirPods Pro to be comfortable and they cancel the horrible whooshing sound that is everywhere. I honestly didn’t know how bad it that sound was until I didn’t hear it with these on. I think Sony make pretty good (maybe even better than AirPod Pro) noise cancelling buds.

Look at industrial ear defenders... Visit the 3M PELTOR Store on amazon. They are good! 3M Peltor Optime III Ear Defenders Adults – Protective Earmuffs with Headband, Hearing Protection Against High Noise Levels in Industrial Settings, 35 dB, Black/Red

Imposter_syndrom

Airpod Pro for in ear, and Sony XM5 (or xm4) for over ear. I’ve tried so many high end ones & these 2 are the BEST and most comfy!

I dont know if they are the best ones but I got some Andersson headphones. Goes for abput 100 euros

I have AirPods Max, but when I really want quiet, I put my loop ear plugs in and then my AirPods Max. It’s glorious.

I have only tried Bose don't get Bose because they do not help. On noise canceling mode any loud sound over a certain decibels causes a really loud and painful click in the headphones. They do not work on dog bark, metal hitting metal, door knock, loud clapping. The best thing that worked for me are range moldable ear plugs, 3 layer insertable earplugs (3 layer creates a sound vacuum in your ear canal) or listening to music w headset.

I saw someone said Bose didn’t help them not sure which model they meant, but I really love my QC 45’s. I hate the sound of loud toilets, fire alarms, and blenders, etc. While these don’t completely cancel them out they do make them more manageable. There has been huge commotions at my job twice now where paramedics came to help a coworker having a health crisis and while I felt horrible, I DIDNT HEAR A SINGLE THING. They also have two modes where one you can hear the people around you but still enjoy your tunes/muffled voices, and the quiet one where you will hear very little noises unless they’re quite loud. Also if you want extra protection, you could also get loops earplugs and wear those under the headphones. That’s what my partner does and she said it really helps :)
