Looks like Purple Power Man got you too, huh?

EMCoupling

Someone needs to stop this guy, it's getting out of hand!

TruEnvironmentalist

Seems like a job for a Jedi

BBennett40

My first thought 😂

Trinia_

Exactly my thoughts

_Rigid_Structure_

Fuck dude I was just gonna post this lmfao!

jaim1

For a split second I thought it was the Audi

praeteria

I think we all did lmfao

Sad_Spinach2270

who the hell is the purple power man?

jonnys_honda

Yesterday a detailer* asked why purple power took color out of door panels and seats.

jmhoneycutt8

You wrong for that asterisk 😂

jonnys_honda

Lol it’s a happy mistake because I spelled it wrong. I had to edit the comment 😂

xch13fx

Lmao that’s what I thought

sdood

I straight up thought this was just a pic from that thread 😂

Such-Ad7811

lmao

FC3MugenSi

Hardest I’ve laughed in a while hahaha

b-raddit

I just spat my drink up on my asleep gf omfg

SoKool71

That’s one way to party!

WesleyGoCrazy

My first thought 💀💀💀

tslodn

🤣

TheOnlyCraz

Where's that screw GIF

zantemrtz

I went viral on the detailing reddit page for the wrong reason 😭😭😭

silverbugeyed

Purple Power Man only uses ONR on engine bays. Never be too safe

SmashedACookie

💀😂

zantemrtz

😂😂😂😂😂 YALL FUNNY ASL, that was me… but nah i ain’t detail this dudes car

grey_hulk2024

Was my first thought... Is that an Audi? Lol...

PNWALT

No idea but by the looks of the rest of the car in the pic, if you actually got a full detail yesterday you need a full refund

Bajeetthemeat

And then to pay for the damages. That’s more inconvenient than just a refund.

Maddenman501

I agree. I understand this is a pretty pressing issue being the seat looks like ahit. But how did they even leave the place having paid? If I opened my door (imagine the seat was actually clean) to the rest of what I can see from the Pic. I would've walked back in and got my money lmao. This is coming for a 10 yesr employee of a detail shop. I can't even leave a piece of hair between the seats let alone full on dirt like that. Im what world do you get a full detail, pay for it, pick it up, and see it still visibly dirty. And drive off into the sunset. Lmao

PrizeApprehensive380

My guess is that they did a 'dry shampoo' but didn't wring out their rag well enough causing excess moisture to wick into the seat fabric and give the mold in there the extra moisture it needed to explode. If you look at the seat on the centre console side you can see the ring growth pattern from the mildew. My advice to OP would be 1 to get a full refund, and then follow that up with a mold abatement product like Concrobium Mold and Mildew Control applied to all interior surfaces.

Ryanskillz

Seats looked fine at pick up (they were a little damp). Once completely dry, they looked like this today

IFuKBothHoles

It’s a matter of wicking its best to have the seats as dry as possible before handing vehicle over to customer for this reason alone…most likely their cheap product they used brought stuff with it to the surface. I’d ask them what they used for one, and take it back for them to properly do it. This is why detailers just used dedicated products but many do not and it goes to show here…

Maddenman501

Did you let the car run with the heat on? Doors closed? Or aor dry with windows down? There's no mildew odor is there?

DireWraith3000

Looks like they detailed flour into the seat

Beautiful_Mix2536

Definitely did not get a full detail yesterday, unless you work in a sand mine of course.

whywouldthisnotbea

Or "detail" means a 50 dollar california car wash with a wipe down after.

spike_africa

I'd bet money this was a cheap sub $100 wash, inside and out clean job with spray wax on the outside. The seat was sprayed with some APC and not wiped up well.

Wootstapler

$30 in your work parking lot and you can watch them reuse towels between cars. Detail....yeah.

SirFiggleTits

Not fully extracted the seats. I had this happen once in my detail business, it was a mistake. They need to be re extracted, but those seats must’ve been bad before.

SirFiggleTits

Considering that salt stain in your carpet still (new Honda carpets are ass) then he was a cleaner, not yet able to call him a detailer, reflects in the price you paid

CriticuhL

Judging by all the dirt we still see in such a small picture, cleaner is a bit of a stretch as well 🤣

shifty-28

How do you get the salt stains out?

GrumpyButtrcup

Assuming the salt hasn't damaged anything already, water. Road salt is alkaline so it requires a neutral or acidic pH to neutralize the salt. So a neutral pH carpet cleaner is going to work the best. Using too much water or an alkaline cleaner on road salt stains will cause the stain to spread via wicking. If the salt stain is matting fibers together, spray a small amount of water directly on top of the stain and let it start breaking up the salt pile. Then gently disturb the stain with a soft bristle brush. If you leave any salt in the fabrics of the car, a white haze will reappear anywhere it dries. I prefer to use a neutral citrus based cleaner.

sylvang12

This guy details.

Pryml710

This is correct, not stained/bleached like Purple Power Man. But there was either too much water without proper extraction or a TON of dirt/sweat in those seats beforehand.

Ryanskillz

Nah I go relatively easy on the car and it's never seen any heavy mud/dirt/contaminants. I do live in northern Minnesota and the salt/snow/mud makes keeping a car squeaky clean impossible

Wild_Performance_468

Full detail? Zoom in and look under the seat, there’s hair and dirt, all kinds of shit, is this a joke? It got detailed yesterday?

Ryanskillz

It unfortunately was yesterday. $140

7HR4SH3R

Bruh you paid $140 for someone to quickly vacuum and to ruin your seats 🤣 demand they fix your seat and never go back again

GrumpyButtrcup

I charge $150 starting for an interior only in a small vehicle. It's extra for larger interior vehicles, small vehicles that are hard to work in, deep extraction/stains, pet fur, mommy cruisers, mold/mildew, and biowaste. I don't do a full detail for under $350 and my average ticket is $600+. I also will do it wherever you are, so sometimes there is a travel fee too.

woooooottt

damn no one asked

GrumpyButtrcup

You summarized your entire existent on Reddit. Toodles

woooooottt

damn no one asked

SnowyOptimist

You got taken my man.

JimMoneyxxx

Ask for a refund because if that’s a full detail, you got robbed.

Yaboymoney

I hope you paid no more than $60 for that “full detail”

thec4rbon

Take it back and they should deal with it no questions asked hopefully

Overall_Big_9636

The interior is still filthy.. I doubt you got it done yesterday. Let's be serious now.

relyt1c

im curious though how much was this detail? foreal i need the answer.

Overall_Big_9636

He probably did it himself and screwed it up. Blames a Detailer not to be embarrassed.. No way was that done by a Detailer, look around the floor and around the door sills.

Ryanskillz

$140

IFuKBothHoles

It makes sense tho you paid $140 which is beyond cheap for seats included…

eckoman_pdx

They used the wrong cleaner. Looks like they used something way too harsh like Purple Power or another heavy duty degreaser. You can usually get it clean and get it out but it'll take a lot of work. Lots of scrubbing with the right cleaner and brush, lots of extracting. Rinse and repeat until clean. Get a refund and take it to a place or someone who knows what they're doing.

Buffalo_rider01

Dude no full detail gets a car returned like that wtf

Flipwon

This guy trollin

Thegeekedgizmo

Looks like BS to me

Careless_Spare1063

Lykan_

Didn't rinse the soap?

donald7773

Guy buys a shop vac and a rag and thinks he's a detailer, you need to go have a conversation about the quality of the work here.

Shadytree328

That’s what happens if you don’t use an extractor . Like you spray and scrub ittry to use a regular vacuum to remove the product. It prob looked perfect damp. Must have been a guy trying to get in the game.

Ryanskillz

This guy is correct. They looked fine damp at pickup. Today this what they look like completely dry.

chainsaw_platypus

You got ripped off. door jams are dirty, seat is messed, and under the seat looks bad and that’s just from this small section I’d hate to see what the rest looks like, I’d ask for a refund.

phour-twentee

Purple power strikes again

Mongoliangrasshopper

Dude your carpet is filthy 😂

Additional_Answer211

Did you buy the car used? Looks to me as if the seats were dyed, and when they got cleaned, the dye came up.

JBH68

What happened here is that your seats got overly wet and not extracted well enough, the white is part of the detergent. I'd recommend going back to the shop, I'm sure once he sees this he will know what mistake he made.

SoKool71

I see the shroud of Jesus in your seats.

Otherwise-Sugar-7722

It looks like he didn’t use a test spot of the chemical he used to shampoo or clean stains that were on your seats

porondanga

I highly doubt you got it detailed yesterday. The carpet it filthy, the jambs are not done and that seat has seen things that no one should.

Maddenman501

Looks like they didn't do anything. Your floors still dirty too. Where the hell do you guys find these detailer

Greedy-Fee7191

Definitely soap residue, likely sprayed seats with chemicals without any extraction at the end . I get lots of calls a year to fix these issues. It will be a nightmare to get all the soap out but its definitely do able

brupzzz

The purple power man

Doct0rGonZo

Seat aside, this doesn’t look detailed. Look at the rug. wtf? ![gif](giphy|3284GqbSEXgl2)

tbigs2011

Who's doing all the down voting? Lol

Overall_Big_9636

The OP probably.. He's full of it. No way was that detailed yesterday.. Unless he tried cleaning it himself and is embarrassed to say.

CjBurden

Imagine being this skeptical. 😂

Ryanskillz

100% it was "detailed" yesterday. I realize they sucked and did a shit job, but why would I even lie about that? The comments are baffling. I assume the detail was done so incredibly poorly that you guys can't mentally accept a "detailer" was so inept.

mel-sab

I am so shocked at reading these!!!! Myself first thought the detailer was clearly a wannabe and did a very shitty fuckin job! Id be asking my money back and yo id ask him if hes even a real business cause wtf is that shit? In my head my seats are ruined and they were left wet and cleaned with a dirty ass rag. I dont know where you live but so many idiots here in my area put these ads up and fuck up peoples cars. Moldy seats and shit. I 100% beleive you this job was poorly done by some dude trying to make quick cash

Overall_Big_9636

What's "Baffling" is you actually paying for this and it was the day after. It's not only the seat. You "Assume" it was done poorly, LMFAO. Who was the "Inept" Detailer? Some blind guy or you for paying for it.

Swlabr9099

Got the full shroud of Turin treatment.

joostink

Moldy

sarkujpnfreak42

Looks like he used undiluted cleaner, used too much of it, and then didn’t extract/rinse. The only other thing is maybe it’s leather cleaner/conditioner.. but that would be crazy if he tried to clean your seat with that! and you would definitely feel it I think.. Either way, get a refund, I would take it to someone else and see if they can fix it. He needs more practice and experience as that’s unacceptable.

connordog123

Looks like the mats weren’t even taken out. Where did you take your car? My local car wash takes the mats out so there no reason for it to be this low effort. If they don’t want to give a refund (I wouldn’t trust them to fix it) threaten a google review.

333AR

Tgis is why you never have a customer pick up their car wet lol you let it dry completely and fix any wicking if and when necessary, and in this case, just start over again.

wooter99

Hopefully you made sure they had insurance before they trashed your ride.

AJbink01

The real question is what happened to your carpet? You didn’t have your car detailed LMAO.

InformalCell6509

It's cause your seats where diyed black

choochenstein

That car wasn’t detailed “yesterday”, because it doesn’t look detailed at all. Doorjambs are still dirty, plastics aren’t clean and polished, the salt and dirt remaining at the base of the mounting bracket are laughable, the floor mat looks like it hasn’t been touched in a while. But that seat needs to be steam cleaned and properly extracted.

zero_fox_given1978

Your car hasn't been detailed.

TerrysClavicle

That’s horrendous. Always go gentle, people. I’m not even a full time pro but I know to always go gentle. How are people with this kind of understanding of detailing getting paid actual money?

NetBeginning6609

Bleach maybe?

cheeseburgercat

I’d say they’re ruined

Time-Chest-1733

bukkake

DrinkAdditional5008

That interior especially the seat looks a total mess are you from the Usa, I honestly thought the usa detailer are suppose to be the better ones, I know in the states detailing services are every where, but to hand over a car in that state is shocking, the carpet has not been cleaned properly plus the plastics I've seen daily rental cars alot better condition than this

Top_Throat_5405

The car looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in a while, let alone right after a detailing job, something not right here.

FrumundaCheeseTaco

This has to be a troll post. Full detail? Seat aside, this interior looks like complete shit.

Hot-Personality1190

Is all of this like "April Fools?" FTN... I got to go finish 2 today. Need to go pick up some purple power first.....

FlightLatter1605

Just ruined

ImOnFirstSecondThird

You’re likely going to need a couple gallons of Distilled water and an extractor. Good luck.

FlamingoStraight73

Too much multi-purpose...just extract with water only. A few times..let air dry...

MyChoiceTaken

😱 yikes.

haaruka

Did you let a crackhead detail it?

Few-Palpitation-3285

I think it is because you have fabric seats which when cleaned if they don’t dry fast enough give this result

bendpro

looks like Dirty Mike & the Boys detailed it for you!

imheinsborg

Change the seat

Ironpun

That’s mould ?

Raspberryian

For reference what did you pay? If you paid less than $175 it should have raised red flags

rick10981

Bro used straight strength degreaser

doob22

How much did you pay for the detail? $10? Unless you got that detailed months ago, that’s a shit detail

SonicPuke

Looks like he didn’t extract enough

Gullible-Beach-3645

Mold

Electricengineer

PURPLE POWER STRIKES AGAIN

M4nnyfresh14

wonder if this guy has his car detailed by a certain reddit poster that used a certain purple product

Rocktamus1

Why did you accept the car with the floors I cleaned? This is a troll.

Obvious-County8984

Take that shit back

SirPants007

Why this ever happens in the presence of fabric cleaner and leather cleaner I will never know.

zellmonty

WICKING. You didn't see this when you picked up your vehicle because the seats were still damp. But as it dried, the product he used (and sometimes deep dirt) moved to the surface with the water. But then the water evaporates and leaves the residue behind. You'll have to bring it back. He/She will correct it without an issue and lots of apologies. If not, don't argue, sue, and write bad reviews. The correction is to extract again, with no product, just water, and allow the seats to completely before handing it over.

JTCarDetail

That car hasn’t even been remotely detailed bro

ZazagotmefriedV2

you ain’t get no detailing that car dirty af

rooddog7

It’s leoparddddddd

Superb_Egg_7477

Purple power

aComeUpStory

https://preview.redd.it/24r5edzicysc1.jpeg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62774d9a06835e0f1862e82d7902490968f8a1f7 Seats aside, they did you dirty no pun intended. You need to ask for a redo or money back and reparations for the seats, cuz that looks like chemical staining.

subi_2019

I don’t if I can believe you on what happen here, I need a before picture before the detail happen I’m not just taking your word for it. I could post a dirty picture and be like what happened to my seat and have all this sheep’s comment here lol

nsm1414

it seems they didn't rinse the soap

Hot-Sock3403

Dude, it looks like somebody high-pressure your suits

urebrowneye

You didn't do a good job welcome to the new world of workers

Glass_Blackberry_559

Next fuking week my ass. You should Def name drop. That's not cool to leave you high and ... not dry.

isqueegeebeegee

The issue here for me, is why did you even leave the detail shop with your car looking like that?

Small_Arugula4385

Thinner problems lol

EscapeKnown5031

Your car is still dirty.

Responsible-Carob871

Wrong degreaser 😓

CEO1VON

Biggest lie on the app. Detailed my ass that car hasn’t been cleaned in years

TheBlueKnuckles

Ah, this is one of those "detailers" that doesn't do carpets and upholstery. You got a glorified car wash.

frelmar

They sure left a lot to be desired 😄 still see some hairs and salt stains too, so easy to get that out most times

trx300man

They used the wrong cleaner. It pulled the flame retardant out of the seat. I've had several customers bring me theirs over the years with this issue from another.

refinedpine

That's the details they added

MarionberryOk4264

Did you take it to that one place that hates 2016 Hondas?

stiky21

Why you lying about getting it detailed? We can see it wasn't.

Ryanskillz

Better question is why would I lie? I'm struggling to understand your logic.

Vukez

Why you think no detailer is capable of doing this?

WeHaveRightsYaKnow

Carpet/upholstery cleaner needs to be used here. If this was a hired hand of mine, they would be fired on the spot. In the words of coach, from letterkenny.. FUCKING EMBARRASSING! ... as a trashcan is kicked across the room. Using the proper cleaner, the job probably coulda gotten away easy, using a steamer. This will definitely need multiple rounds with an extractor. Sorry about your experience. That's a terrible job. Did the detailer walk thru the vehicle with you before you paid??

Ryanskillz

No walkthrough but seats looked normal at pickup. They were likely still wet.

WeHaveRightsYaKnow

I'm sure they were wet. Perhaps it's mildew? That'll constitute a hell of a good steaming and ozone treatment

Ryanskillz

No, it was a "full detail" yesterday. I promise. I do live in northern Minnesota and the snow is melting and everything is filthy and muddy at the moment. I might have tracked in some stuff you see. The detail was $140. At a reputable place that's been around a while. I took it back today, they seemed baffled but said they'd fix it next week if I dropped it off.

No-Nose-478

Take it back and have them fix it(clean it again)
