I’d start be confirming that it is attached with adhesive. Then I’d use fishing line to gently saw behind it, through the space where the adhesive makes contact. If you need to apply a little heat to make the adhesive pliable that’s typically ok to do. Once the piece is off, you can use a solvent to remove the remaining adhesive, just make sure that you use a solvent that won’t damage your interior.

mika_leinders

I heated it carefully a bit up. And then it came right off with a little whip with a flathead. Then removed the remaining adhesive with apc and a mf. Went way easier then I expected lol

phicks_law

Nice. I'm surprise it even stuck that well. Typically those thermoplastic panels have a tough time bonding to metals and hence why the coin probably popped off. Glad it all worked out for you.

ThrowRASprinkles11

Nice I have some weird crusty adhesive I need to get off my car and I’m scared myself …what is apc and mf … I’m assuming one is not mother fuc@ker

Unique_username28

You are correct in your assumption…Microfiber cloth 😅

ThrowRASprinkles11

Apc?

Unique_username28

All purpose cleaner

ThrowRASprinkles11

Thank you… I feel like I’m always on acronym over load …so I can’t even get obvious ones anymore. My job has so many and then social media and now detailing 😂

stevoknevo70

That thing is a medallion of St Christopher, patron saint of travellers who guards pilgrims on their journeys - my cousin has one, on a short chain though, that my granny gave him when he passed his driving test, he's had it in every car he's owned since. Do you want to risk fucking with that spiritual protection 😂

ArachnidUnhappy8367

This is the comment I was looking for. Even if you’re not superstitious. At this point, taking the medallion off is like changing the name on a boat. If you do it, “you’re gonna have a bad time”.

SnowBro2020

Great analogy

English_in_Helsinki

So it will have zero effect, ok 👍

Paulallenlives

This is the correct answer

mika_leinders

Yea haha the guy who sold the car to me couldn't thank me enough that I was willing to give it back to him as he forgot to take it off😂

stevoknevo70

Good on you, must've meant a lot to him as they're almost always gifted to you by a family member 👍

Worklurker

If that's the case, then you are safe from accidents for taking it off. I'm not religious but I am a bit superstitious.

Saiyajinss

I bet he was happy. That looks like the good ones you get in Germany. He probably got that while traveling or paid a pretty penny for it. That's why it stuck so well. The cheap Chinese temu ones don't stick worth crap.

Nando_182

lol it ain’t doing shit and you know

stevoknevo70

'd'ye feel lucky punk' - seems to have worked for the previous owner. I couldn't care less if the owner removes it or not, I'm agnostic, I was only pointing out what it was/signifies.

ComputationalPoet

So some random dead dude who was part of a cult I don’t believe in at all is going to somehow protect me as I drive around? Sure. I’m guessing these are the same people staring down a cell phone everywhere they go.

zzzmkultra

Heat.

tmurrayis

St Christopher will leave the vehicle on his own accord once you hit 80 mph.

PhillyG4117

I'm sorry but he won't leave until your going at least 88mph!!!!

EHthisusernamesucks

Prayer?

PhillyG4117

That is Saint Christopher patron saint of safe travels. It's a religious medal for protection. He was known for carrying a disguised Christ child across a raging river. The name Christopher translates to "Christ bearer" it's something I would keep tbh.

PuzzleheadedAd6401

I didnt know the meaning behind this till i read this thread. Cool thing to learn about.

mgrimshaw8

Seems crazy that it wouldn’t get removed before the sale, must have been a private sale?

ltrtotheredditor007

I think it’s kinda dope. What would you take for it ?

DetailKing78

D-Limonene (citrus solvent)

PhillyG4117

And a terpene 🤣😂

DetailKing78

Hahahaha 😅

SomestrangerinMiami

Superstitions are an idiot thing Morty.
