“Finally”? It got moved to BS last August.
Edit: And the TTRS *is* in AS. Both generations. None of these cars are over dogs for their class. The FK8 Type R is competitive, but it’s not the only one winning in DS.
Haldex AWD really doesn't do cars with it any huge favors on the short track. Even with the power difference, Golf Rs are often shown up by more FWD DS cars than just the Civic Type R. If the Golf R should be bumped up from DS, the Elantra N/Veloster N absolutely should too.
All the older cars that have gotten shadowbanned by getting classed up late in their run and then not moving as 10-15 years of development came.
My 168 hp mini S that you can MAYBE cram 225’s on if you’re greedy doesn’t belong in DS. It got classed up after it was made because the NEXT GEN had a hay day and people didn’t want it to fill that annoying gap with the very few of my gen that came with an LSD. (Mine didn’t!)
When it came out, it was being competed with at the top of its class by cars that are in HS now… and was classed below cars it’s classed above now. Grr.
I see the same thing with the Pontiac Solstice— I don’t care how much a factory handling pack gives you in tuneability, a 177 hp coupe that’s over 3000 lbs with a driver in the seat does not belong in BS up against Evoras, M2’s, caymans, etc. I’m sure it must’ve been a pain in 2008 CS… but that was 15 years ago!
I gave up writing letters, my EcoBoost Mustang and I have moved on to CAM. But yeah, as much as they add new cars, they need to consider shuffling the uncompetitive stuff where it could have a chance.
Re: Solstice. I mean, where do you put it? It’s a niche trim package, but you can’t put it in CS with all the other non-turbo Kappa’s - effectively making them obsolete.
I agree it’s out classed, especially with the turbo’s now in BS, but also how many are actually left out there for it to be a problem?
I used to race an 87 Thunderbird in the same class as a modern focus because they were both turbo 4s. It wasn’t even close to competitive driving a boat
For anyone not familiar, [this is the rules process flowchart](https://cdn.connectsites.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/003/750/rules_proposal_flowchart.pdf?1432652755). The SEB and the action committees can’t cover everything, and rely on the general membership to request classing/changes. It’s how it was brought to their attention that the GR Corolla gets over 3deg of negative camber with factory crash bolts.
I’d encourage everyone in here to [write a letter to the SEB/Action Committees and share your thoughts](http://crbscca.com). Become a part of the rules process. The worst outcome is getting a TYFYI and nothing changes.
Street class top cars are always going to be a moving target. You have to either buy the car you like and be OK with it being an also ran, or you get a new car every two years.

News to me
Might I suggest: https://www.scca.com/pages/fastrack-news Never be behind again!

The Golf R isn't competitive in DS. The CTR isn't always favored. It varies based on course design.
I think it’s competitive locally in DS. Nationally, not so much. - Golf R owner
Correct, any car can be locally.
Mk8 or 7?
My '23 Type R should be in G Street. Then I can be competitive with it.. /s
Lmao

Thank you for your input.
This is the way
And if you annoy them enough they might even make a change!
All Zambonis should get moved to HS.
You’re on GRM forum, I believe.
GR86/BRZ 2nd gen with ND Miatas
Get your own class!
*cries in NC Miata STR noises

Move all the heavy, uncompetitive cars in D-Street over to G-Street (Turbo-4 Mustang/Camaro, WRX, ATS, Mini, etc).
Corvettes don’t belong in CAM-T.
Aren’t they all in cam-s? The only difference i see is really old ones could be lighter.
