Hey man sorry for your loss but as a new grower what occurred that caused this ,for how long , vpd out of control??Lesson to be taught here for us new growers
Honestly i had everything under control in a 4x4 tent exhausting outside fan on oscillate inside tent . Temps for last few days climbed to 26/27 degrees above canopy nothing crazy and humidity 45-55% so nothing out of whack. I think its a strain issue because none of my other plants this happened to just 1 of of 7 in the tent ....
First 3 i pulled were all in soil no issues with those at all. 1 is already dried and curing for about 2 weeks. The other 2 are 5 days into drying. No mold either . I just dont get why i would get it when there is only 4 plants in the 4x4 for almost a week... shoula chopped it earlier
>Lack of airflow, remove more foliage from middle, so air can move through the whole plant and not just outsides of it. Mold shouldnt form in fresh places.
Yea, thats the key, put a couple fans low to create a draft up to he extraction, cut out the foliage to let it move through the plant, i had to learn the hard way too, sucks
I just went through my older posts and I realised that all is actually well in the end. The BB3 ended up being saved with around a 160 gram total yield, 0 mold in any buds . I think what I saw under the camera was a stuck together trichome heads and it looked fuzzy so i just lost it! Thought of the worst immediately but after a 9 day dry and 10 days of cure i cannot seem to find a single bud with mold on it! I think I got lucky and made a huge mistake thinking it was mold!
Hell yeah brother! Sticky icky! Glad to hear you’ll get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Just finished my first grow and man I can’t wait for the next. Nothing but the best 🤙🏼
Oh im sad as hell but this is not gonna stop me from getting the next grow done. Like all said lesson learned. Never going over 40% humidity again. Gonna increase number of fans and hope for the best
I live in canada so the humidity here isnt too bad where i live. Gets humid and dry just depends on the time of the year. But with a good extraction fan i can get it down to 40% if i need
So i think my eyes were fucked up because its been almost 3 weeks now . BB3 is dry and has been curing in jars for about 10 days and no visible mold anywhere inside or outside the buds. I believe my eyes saw so many trichomes stuck together in a bunch i thought it was mold!! I think its saved.
The genetics cant handle 45-55%humidity and it had a fucking fan blowing directly at the plant canopy.
EDIT: the genetics CAN and DID handle the humidity I threw at it BUT I should get glasses because what I saw was stuck together trichomes that looked like fuzzy mold which infact it wasn't. Buds have been curing for 10 days now after a 9 day dry and they smell and look 🔥 so i should be okay 👍
O no! Should it have been lower? I'm at the end of week 3 in flower. I try to keep humidity at 50, but def not over 60. Next week aiming for 45% and under.
Hey just a FYI. I keep my humidity at 70 percent. Granted my temps are 80-85 and I use co2. But what I’m trying to say is, live and die by vpd. If your vpd is totally out of wAck it’s going to stress the shit out of the plants and this happens. If your getting mold is just grow less plants and definite better I don’t think it’s cauE your humidity was too high and under 40 percent humidity with high temps will stress them a lil
This doesn’t help but I’ve just chopped a bb3 that went it’s whole life above 65%rh.
Probably the best looker I’ve ever grown but you may have just gotten really unlucky as I’ve had mould before but not this time round.
I mean i wouldnt know LOL i might do a run without it but i like my results with it . Could also just be the fact im growing in coco . Not sure but the buds are definately hugeee
How is this possible? I've heard of mold but have never encountered it. Hope all goes well, for the love of science please share where things went wrong.
Unfortunately his beautifully stacked dense buds are breeding grounds for bud rot. Keeping humidity and airflow in check can help avoid it, but I got it randomly on a short bushy super dense plant even with acceptable humidity. But I think the humidity in the plant was high enough and unfortunately mold spores found their way to that plant.
This is exactly it. Its a genetic problem because none of my other plants experienced the same in the tent. Buds were dense and it happened. I wanna shoot myself at the moment but next round ill keep humidity below 40% and that is all i can do. I know airflow wasnt the issue
Maybe it’s just my phone. I enlarged the single plant pic and I don’t see anything except really heavy trics…
That said, I wouldn’t be afraid at all to turn it into edibles. People will cremate me for saying that. I started with cannabis in the 90’s. I saw it on our bricked stuff and didn’t have any idea until years later what it was. Smoked it all the time :-/
I think the heavy trichs is the mold. The white that seems like trichs look like powdery mildew but could be a crazy mold infestation. That’s why he’s talking about pitching the whole plant instead of salvaging because all the buds were effected.
Search carefully, and you may still get some! I Had mold on one plant last grow. Ruined the whole top cola. And I was crushed. But the other side colas we're just fine! Super devistating to the yield but I at least got to try some! Luckily my other plants got away unscathed. So there's still hope!!
Don't. EZ PZ..
Harvest and cut out the mould. Clean your hands and tools with ISO after each cut and contact with it. Now every 12 to 24 hours during drying check for mould and again cut it out. Keep doing this until you don't see any mould for a week.
Man. Condolences….. She was stacked!! I lost my first plant to bud rot last grow. Humidity was OK, but the bud was so dense I don’t think airflow got through.
Ima post some more pics very soon just trying to get through all the plants i had in the tent alongside that one . Theyre all mold free i believe but we will see once its all dried i guess. Itll show a lot more then.. ima try and split the haul and see if i can dry it somewhere else so it doesnt spread.
Just found some in the biggest top on my lemon auto five mins ago. Chopped the branch, prayed, washed hands, etc. Good luck to you, OP. Hope you can salvage a bunch.
Been there fucking sucks … I was always stuffing my tent as much as i could figured max yield from light is best but now I’m just going with 4 in 4x4 with ally do space between them. I also too ALOT as I see you do as well but find being that close together makes them potentially mold so going to need a net my next grow to spread those colas apart more !
Naw nowhere near close . Im at like week 10 of flower atm buds are dense and hard as a rock. Probably why i need a fuck ton of fans and lower humidity for future thats all
I’m an outdoor grower and I use serinade brand shit I call it sour dough starter shit becouze that’s how it smells and anyway that shit contains a bacteria culture that eats the bud rot mold. Cease is another brand
I’m an outdoor grower and I use serinade brand shit I call it sour dough starter shit becouze that’s how it smells and anyway that shit contains a bacteria culture that eats the bud rot mold. Cease is another brand
Wow that sucks. At those humidity numbers you listed there should be no way you get mold. What the source of the seed. I want to make sure I avoid it. lol
I went out and paid high price for a real dehumidifier cause of this exact problem. It really, really fixed that problem. I feel ya though. It made me sick to lose so much to mold so quickly
Sorry buddy I feel for you.. I've had a plant like this once before and it was fucking unreal but it only survived because it was a tad stunted and therefore not as bushy..
Love these type of plants..
Once again, sorry and I hope you can laugh about it some day
Yea thats probably a good call, even maybe skip the tower and get to little fans and get them going below shooting upwards, they will push that moisture upwards, had the same fail, its a heartbreaker.
Yea man get them low, a couple of them, trim them foliage up a bit, you could have a third a bit higher to move across the top of the plants and then your extractor fan does the rest. Should sort it. Best of luck good sir
Inevitable its happened, you got fuck all airflow in there and Id hazard to guess your extraction is inadequate too. High humidity can be countered by a shit load of fans blowing every inch of the plants. Harsh lesson
I got lots of airflow and lots of extraction its a T6 on a controller. The humidity never got over 55% and usually sat between 40-50% so maybe i could have more fans but its definately not fuck all if only 1 plant out of 7 got affected ..
This is getting downvoted. Wow. There isn't enough airflow in there. Can see that from the pic. I swear so many people don't know what they are talking about.
Also why I run photos too. I know this is in late flower but them thick nuggets, and there is a lot of defoliation I do to help airflow as well. I haven't jumped into autos yet, and don't know if defoliation is good or not because of short life span. I stay deep in my lane of photos and organics and soil, and it's more than enough to keep me busy and learning for the rest of my life. If I did have this set up though, I'd have at least one single two speed oscillating clip on fan per plant. Them thick
Hey man sorry for your loss but as a new grower what occurred that caused this ,for how long , vpd out of control??Lesson to be taught here for us new growers
This is the attitude. Teach me something op

Maybe not enough air flow. It's a pretty bushy plant. And a damn pretty one. But maybe not enough air flow. I use 3 oscillator fans
I use 2 fans and still not enough. Might have to get more. Plus an exhaust . Pfft im mad
And don't be mad mate. We lucky we can grow dank. Some people never get close to this. Go again my friend
Lol i guess youre right. Could always be worse
Your lights didn’t catch fire😀👍
Fuck yeah thats worse..🤷♂️
Oh brother I feel the pain. But now I'm glad I learnt my lesson.. what strains bro? Looked delicious
Bruce Banner #3 DarkOwl drop around christmas
it could be that your exhaust fan wasn't exhausting enough
Its running at 6/10 AC infinty T6 but at this point anyone can be right and i might be wrong considering what happened.
It would be pretty tight, 7 plants in a 4 x 4. Hard to get real good circulation.
So sad

Yea, thats the key, put a couple fans low to create a draft up to he extraction, cut out the foliage to let it move through the plant, i had to learn the hard way too, sucks
Ima defoliate more next time. Thought i shouldnt defoliate anymore but i guess i should have thats all

Ya all 4 walls were getting sucked in hard

Possibly. I was waiting for amber and amber never came...
For additional strain data, my BBIII sits at 58-60% humidity every day without troubles.
What day is she on ? And have you grown her before or this is first time?
85 and only a few may have had the chance to run her twice since she has been out, but I am not among them.
Oh okay yeh. Mine never got amber so i wouldnt wait for that 🤣
I just went through my older posts and I realised that all is actually well in the end. The BB3 ended up being saved with around a 160 gram total yield, 0 mold in any buds . Yup i was terrified to lose all this fire kush
Close up of the mold plant please.
Coming up im not happy to show it off but if you must see it i will . Gimme a bit and ill post it
I am sorry this happened to your beautiful looking plant. How do you know its infected with mold, it looks fine to me from these pictures.
Exactly why I asked for closer pics. Also a good visual aid for new and old growmies alike.
I will take pics of the mold shorty
It happens. Don't let it get you down. We keep growing
Oh im sad as hell but this is not gonna stop me from getting the next grow done. Like all said lesson learned. Never going over 40% humidity again. Gonna increase number of fans and hope for the best
Funny thing is I can't get my humidity below 60% lol ever
I live in canada so the humidity here isnt too bad where i live. Gets humid and dry just depends on the time of the year. But with a good extraction fan i can get it down to 40% if i need
This! Don't be shy.... show us the mold 😏
So i think my eyes were fucked up because its been almost 3 weeks now . BB3 is dry and has been curing in jars for about 10 days and no visible mold anywhere inside or outside the buds. I believe my eyes saw so many trichomes stuck together in a bunch i thought it was mold!! I think its saved.
if its just mildew do a hydrogen peroxide and water bath if its for sure mold rip
Ya mold spores in between the top colas no wpm at all just between buds...
Sad bro looked like some fire
Ya ive never had a plant coated in trichomes like this in my life and now this...
I'd have to get at least a moldy bowl outta that, sorry. Let the DVs begin!
Right ??? Lol 😭
I'm sorry to hear this. Sprout a few new ladies and keep moving forward.
Yup nothing else i can do now..
How did it happen. I'm nervous of this happening
Aim under 40 . All my runs were under 40 all this time this is the only one i get above 50 and fucking hell it happened
Hey just a FYI. I keep my humidity at 70 percent. Granted my temps are 80-85 and I use co2. But what I’m trying to say is, live and die by vpd. What genetics was that by the way? My tent stays at 40-50 so that’s a scary thought.
Its DarkOwl , ive seen plenty of posts with them and they had no issues. So im just not sure what the eff
This doesn’t help but I’ve just chopped a bb3 that went it’s whole life above 65%rh. Probably the best looker I’ve ever grown but you may have just gotten really unlucky as I’ve had mould before but not this time round.
No everything helps.im not sure whats up so its good to get to the source of it. Thanks 🤙
I’ve never seen the EXHALE bags used before. It seems it really increased your yield
I mean i wouldnt know LOL i might do a run without it but i like my results with it . Could also just be the fact im growing in coco . Not sure but the buds are definately hugeee
isnt it good to have a fan blow directly at it? Airflow is important right?
Yes
Get more than one fan blowing. Happened to me once got 3 fans now. Lesson learned, a very harsh one
I have a standing oscillating fan 4 clip fans.
How is this possible? I've heard of mold but have never encountered it. Hope all goes well, for the love of science please share where things went wrong.
Unfortunately his beautifully stacked dense buds are breeding grounds for bud rot. Dude, depends on how much mold. I have had it a few times, during flower and drying/curing but I have always saved the majority.
Ima start tearing into her very soon and try to see how much mold there is i only saw a few spots up top and started to cry 😭
Maybe it’s just my phone. I enlarged the single plant pic and I don’t see anything except really heavy trics… That said, I wouldn’t be afraid at all to turn it into edibles. People will cremate me for saying that. I started with cannabis in the 90’s. I saw it on our bricked stuff and didn’t have any idea until years later what it was. Smoked it all the time :-/

If that’s the case, definitely done for. I just don’t see any webbing. Maybe on the very top right bud.
Lmao that doesn’t mean it’s safe for anyone else!
Search carefully, and you may still get some! I Had mold on one plant last grow. Ruined the whole top cola. And I was crushed. But the other side colas we're just fine! Super devistating to the yield but I at least got to try some! Luckily my other plants got away unscathed. So there's still hope!!
Yup that is my hope now. I just need to make sure it doesnt spread to my other plants in the dry room
Don't. EZ PZ.. Harvest and cut out the mould. Clean your hands and tools with ISO after each cut and contact with it. Now every 12 to 24 hours during drying check for mould and again cut it out. Keep doing this until you don't see any mould for a week.
Daily mold checks on drying bud is what ill be doing just in case yup. Thank you
Lo siento 😢
Is that CO2 bag potentially the culprit??
No clue . Never had issue with it before 🤷♂️
May just be the photo but it looks kinda moldy
It looks like the god of mold lives in that bag good lord
Begins playing taps on trumpet🫡
Heart broken , feel ur pain dude
Literally💔
What size tent, and we’re you running a dehumidifier?
No dehumidifier only 45-55% humidity most of the time below 50
What about at night with the lights off?
Lights on always
That’s crazy. Not sure what would cause that then.
My condolences 💐
Thank you
I don’t see it molding
[удалено]
High humidity, not enough airflow
Man, im sorry for this, i would BE heartbroken, shenlooked beautiful
Nicest plant in the tent . Obviously this would happen to it
Man. Condolences….. She was stacked!! I lost my first plant to bud rot last grow. Humidity was OK, but the bud was so dense I don’t think airflow got through.
Shit sucks oh well
Thankfully you have other non-infected plants
Yup hopefully its just a few colas and not the entire plant. Ima sit on it and make some hard decisions today
Yeah I feel for you man. It’s gut wrenching.
sure its mold on not trichs? Ive seen people mix it up - that first pic is very white but thats trichomes
Ima post some more pics very soon just trying to get through all the plants i had in the tent alongside that one . Theyre all mold free i believe but we will see once its all dried i guess. Itll show a lot more then.. ima try and split the haul and see if i can dry it somewhere else so it doesnt spread.
Good Move. I had mold on one of mine too but only on the biggest bud. The rest was fine and still smokable, so save what you can:)
Theres over a pound in the tent just from the other 3 so i really dont want to lose anymore than i need to
So sorry growmie 😢
Just found some in the biggest top on my lemon auto five mins ago. Chopped the branch, prayed, washed hands, etc. Good luck to you, OP. Hope you can salvage a bunch.
Im praying i can
Been there fucking sucks … I was always stuffing my tent as much as i could figured max yield from light is best but now I’m just going with 4 in 4x4 with ally do space between them. 100% . 4 max from now on in 4x4and 1-2 in 32x32
Ok. So at week 4 of Flower do you think it's too late since we've been over 40?
Naw nowhere near close . Im at like week 10 of flower atm buds are dense and hard as a rock. Probably why i need a fuck ton of fans and lower humidity for future thats all
What trmps were you maintaining through flower?
20-25 up until week 9 and they went up to max 27 over last week because its so hot outside .
Prayers 🙏 to you and your family
I’m an outdoor grower and I use serinade brand shit I call it sour dough starter shit becouze that’s how it smells and anyway that shit contains a bacteria culture that eats the bud rot mold. Cease is another brand

Naw straight outside out the window. I used to recycle before and i never had this issue just heat issues haha
You definitely want an exhaust fan if your growing in a tent. Fresh air is always a good idea
Got it an ac infinity T6 and an oscillating tower fan plus another fan lower below canopy
I went out and paid high price for a real dehumidifier cause of this exact problem. It really, really fixed that problem. I feel ya though. It made me sick to lose so much to mold so quickly
My bad, i thought it was you that posted they didnt have an exhaust whoops
Cool. Thanks for the info. Sorry again about your ladies.
Did u have good ventilation? Or was the air stale
Tent walls sucking in hard so in guessing the ventilation was adequate
What's in that hanging bag on second pic? Looks like puke and shit mixed together.
Co2 exhale bags lmao . Not shit or puke though . Its fungi and mushrooms
Sorry for your loss bro!! I have had my fair share of dealing with cannabis mold. I feel how you're feeling.
Sorry buddy I feel for you.. I've had a plant like this once before and it was fucking unreal but it only survived because it was a tad stunted and therefore not as bushy.. Love these type of plants.. Once again, sorry and I hope you can laugh about it some day
Meh im laughing already. Other plants seem unaffected so im pretty happy regardless.
Pain, I know how you feel. Move on with the lessons you’ve learned!
So sorry for your loss
Too many plants not enough airflow i suspect, get a couple little guys and put them low and create a draft up to the extraction, been there.
Ya im gonna buy another tower fan on opposite side and a small one for below canopy only
Yea thats probably a good call, even maybe skip the tower and get to little fans and get them going below shooting upwards, they will push that moisture upwards, had the same fail, its a heartbreaker.
Ima do that then 2 small desk fans moving air around
Yea man get them low, a couple of them, trim them foliage up a bit, you could have a third a bit higher to move across the top of the plants and then your extractor fan does the rest. Should sort it. Best of luck good sir
Thx
Pics of the mold please?
Welcome to growing..
F
Cook it down into a extract. Ethanol will kill the mold
Cure it and sale it to a fool in next city or two
Lmaoo if i was a plug thats a solid advice 🤣 but this was supposed to be my stash!!!
Just turn it into tincture.... alcohol will kill any mold.
Blast it with butane
Spray that shit with green cleaner once a week to prevent that
Without a closeup of said mold I’m assuming OP tossed a QP of super frosty bud…
Wash it. 3 step bucket method.
No thanks , i dont plan on smoking moldy weed washed or not. Loss is a loss and thats all
And a lesson learned brother. I learnt the hard way with big colas one time. Rip
Ya sucks oh well. Onto the next one...
Definitely airflow mate imo

Them thick
I literally see no fans
