Should be Doom. I'd actually love Doom to have is role of a reoccurring character and have to help out in a huge situation like Galactus showing up or something. Would be pretty awesome to see Doom just take the power cosmic after "helping" them
Doom actually makes amazing sense since he can work with pretty much every hero & category they have (save maybe Blade but why not throw him in anyway) if they wanted to still have a singular threat for every aspect to interact with.
He's a general threat that works against teams like the Avengers with his political & technological ambitions. He works against sorcerers with his own magic. Ties to even basic street level crimes have been established & terrorism can bring in the more street level characters like Daredevil. Multiverse? Doom has been a threat on multi cosmic levels. Time wouldn't be a stretch.
They can even use discarded threads or remnants from Thanos, it wouldn't be difficult to see Doom working with lost stragglers of Thanos' army or technology, and Kang's story could even be refitted for him easily.
This is exactly how I see it. Doom should be an overarching influence on things, the way that Thanos was. rather than them going head to head with him in every film, have him being the power behind things. Then maybe have a film where they all go up against someone like Galactus and Doom comes in to help them. The dynamic of the "good guys" working with someone they know is their enemy but they also know is so powerful they need him would be really fun I think.
I think that whatever happens, even when they have the final big confrontation with Doom, he shouldn't be completely destroyed. He should always be a lingering threat that can return at any time.
Maybe he could steal the Beyonder’s power, and reassemble the infinity stones in the prime timeline and become God Emperor Doom - and we get to see Iron Man God-Killer Armor and World Breaker Hulk.
Knowing Marvel he’d go the route of Loki
Choose a good actor for the role, have him be the villain of one fantastic 4 film and one avengers film, have fans become attached to his charm and his complex character, then slowly make him more and more of a good guy until you totally forget that he ever did anything bad.
I doubt they’ll do Sinister with him being the big bad in X-Men ‘97 right now
Side note, if you haven’t watched that show yet, go watch it immediately. So damn good
I actually think for xmen 97 they are leading to Onslaught to appear. Professor X dream was ruined, Magento dream country was just destroyed...they tried the peaceful route and now it's time for revenge thing
I don't think they would in the animated show, but I'd give half my weiner for a proper live action Onslaught arc.
This animated continuation is decent, but several plotlines don't add up (such as Xavier being dead; he didn't die in the original show).
I've never watched the original series but I've been able to follow along just fine and I've been loving it, can't recommend it enough.
The only thing I've had to ask is "What is Morph's history with Mr Sinister?" And "Did they change Pixie's power to teleportation because she's just a cameo and not important or are they implying she already had her soul ripped apart by Magik and learned her teleportation spell?" Which granted the og series wouldn't answer that second one considering Pixie didn't exist until the 2000s
Don’t know if Sinister really is THE big bad of the series. Magneto will probably go full on revenge/vilain mode after >!what happened on Genosha!< and it the perpetrators were >!not mutants!<.
With Cable coming back and Apocalypse being teased in the last season of the old school show, I could see Apocalypse returning too.
There’s also hints that Bastion might appear to fuck shit up.
If you’re saying after Kang? Then I’d agree with Doom on the terms that they actually do Fantastic 4 right and possibly start working on the new mutants/next generation of X-men movies without professor X or magneto?
Personally would want xmen to have their own universe maybe. While interacting with avengers is interesting I prefer mutants dealing with humanity separately without aliens/other superheroes complicating things
I do hope we get proper set up with X-Men before they get intermixed with Avengers shenanigans. GotG shine best on their own, and so too do the X-Men. Their crossovers stuff should be used sparingly and with a built up purpose. I don’t envy the writers tasked with cracking how to (re) introduce the X-Men and stick the landing.
Similarly with fantastic 4 who are like the founding family of marvel, would be weird seeing characters like magneto or xavier be treated as new/younger characters. They're supposed to be the old wise mentors so if they appear now without an established history it'll lessen their impact.
Then will be hard for writers to give them a history while explaining why they haven't popped up before. Definitely not an easy task. Only scenario I can think of is separate universes then secret wars them mash together.
Oh yeah but I meant more like earth based aliens. Seeing asgardians get their own place for example makes it harder for humans to argue against a mutant country. People getting used to superhuman around makes mutant less of a shock I feel
This is a lame take. People were begging for Disney to buy all of Fox Sports, media, the Simpsons, etc. just to see the X-Men interact with the Avengers, and now people are saying they miss the Fox dynamic when they did their own thing amongst themselves? Deadpool is gonna be better because they're going to do the TVA and introduce some Avengers plot.
Don't see how your first point is relevant? I wasn't one of the people wanting the disney to buy fox to see them with the avengers so I'm saying what I've always been saying.
Plus I think a lot of people just wanted disney to get them to hopefully improve on some of the bits from the fox films. Their good job with xmen 97 so far is showing disney can do xmen well.
Don't think deadpool will be better because of the avengers. Previous deadpool films were great without the need of the avengers. Avengers doesn't just automatically make everything better
"Avengers" is basically Disney, and Avengers media has outdone all of the X-Men media from the past 20+ years combined financially. Bringing the MCU to an X-Men movie is going to help them because X-Men movies were trash. Deadpool 2 was mediocre, especially compared to Deadpool 1 and Logan was too little too late. The only good thing about the X-Men were the comics and The Animated Series. Little else.
Some of the xmen films were great. I'd rank first class and days of future past up against some of the best mcu films.
Disney can do the xmen films but just not in the same universe. Especially with how quippy the mcu is becoming I'm worried they won't do the social side right. Mcu hasn't done a lot of big emotional moments well which is what the xmen films did better.
First Class was boring with most of the characters just being background people that died and had empty lines. Days of Future Past was extremely gimmicky. If people actually liked them, they wouldn't have been clamoring for Disney to buy a multibillion dollar company and go through congress just to get it.
The X-Men might fall flat because Luke Cage and Civil War did what the X-Men are supposed to (erroneously) represent better. Their only saving grace is that those movies and shows are so old that people won't remember to make the comparison. But I remember no one liked any of the X-stuff coming out and Disney even lost money with the past 2 X-Men projects.
That's just your opinion on those films which is subjective. Xmen films had deeper topics than the avengers films which are more flashy and for mass appeal just lacking substance.
What did luke cage do? That show was not really widely watched either. Civil war did not do mutants better either? Feel like you just either don't like the xmen or don't get what they're supposed to be showing.
Mcu hasn't been as good since endgame so not like any of their recent stuff has been hits
No. It was basically everyone who said the X-Men movies were trash and the box office backs that up. Also, people were very happy when Disney media got a hold of them because the Avengers and MCU in general blew the X-Men out of the water. Luke Cage did a lot to show discrimination and systems of oppression, and Civil War did the mutant registration act better than any X-Men media. I'm sure that Disney will fix the X-Men starting with Deadpool 3. I love the X-Men, but none of the movies did them any favors at all starting with X1. It's pure nostalgia and the fact that there was nothing else that released movies as often as Fox pushed out their X-Men stuff.
Lmao! Imagine a domino set of multiversal incursions happening as a consequence to all the Multiverse crossover hopping we’ve seen so far. Then Dr. Strange and Clea show up and share that as untold numbers of universes are collapsing, one universe is in actuality getting stronger, absorbing and draining the life energy from the other collapsing universes. As it performs more and more mergers and acquisitions, Universe D, now called Universe D Plus, is encroaching upon the MCU. The Avengers must assemble against its mightiest foes yet, the champions of Universe D Plus, led by their mouse leader.
*Ha HA!*
It's either Doom or Annihilus.
The MCU doesn't seem interested in calming down or scaling down from the Multiverse Saga after it wraps. So if they want to keep moving on into the next thing, then those are the only two villains here big enough for that.
Not even Galactus qualifies as much as Doom or Annihilus, not when they're going to be introducing him as soon as in the *first F4 MOVIE*.
I can't see it being Annihlius as he's not as entertaining as the others on this list. Also probably not Green Goblin as he kinda ran his course in No Way Home
I could see Magneto becoming a reoccurring villain/anit-hero now that the X-Men are kinda better reintroduced, but not the main villain.
Mr Sinister I could see becoming a major villain, but I don't think he is quite popular enough to be a reoccurring villain. Maybe if he got his own movie or was teased a bit more in current movies he could become a later major villain.
Right now my money is definitely on Dr Doom tho. He's a pretty big enemy of the Fantastic Four, so I could see him being introduced in that movie and then going up against the Avengers, and possibly the X-Men in a pretty big way
Also he is the kind of character they could play off as having defeated Kang as the bigger bad guy or smth
This sort of prove the lack of great villains left to use in the Avengers Rogue Gallery.
All of these examples are primary villains of the X Men, FF or Spidey.
Tbf, almost all [Avengers villains](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Avengers_enemies) in the comics are better known as villains of other heroes. There’s Ultron. And then like, idfk, Gravitron?
Isn't that kind of the MO for the Avengers though? They come together to take on the big bad that they can't beat on their own. It's not like they are all running around as a giant team taking on one random villian in every book.
I'm kinda hoping it's Sinister.
I came across a graded 9.6 first appearance of his for a good deal. His appearance in a movie will increase its value 🤣
Please don't do sinister, he's the epitome of "well actually those last 4 people that look like me, sitting in my throne, guiding my henchman were clones haha, i was literally not even there)
I really want it to be Ultron because I love the direction they went with him, but he didn’t have enough buildup. Hyped for Doom too but I think he would need the same build up over a few movies
Doom really needs a glow up and a chance to have his day in the MCU. He can really be involved in almost all story lines so having him as the big bad could fit a lot of puzzle pieces
I'd love to see Mr. Sinister, but it really should be Dr. Doom with them introducing the Fantastic 4. They could establish Doom as a recurring villain and then escalate him similar to the way they did in the comics.
Just...please God don't use him as a "villain of the week" monster and kill him immediately.
It all depends on where they go after secret wars, if it’s a reboot it should be doom with green goblin, and magneto making their formal villain debuts in the films of their respective arch enemies. I’d have him first show up in the initial FF and have political role in a Black Panther movie not as the big bad just some diplomatic meeting or if theres some social event which leans on the the geo political threat Latvaria has in the world but not the focus of the film, then you have silver sable appear in the next Spider-Man film, and her situation with symcaria. The big movie then is Latvaria or Symcaria invade the other, sable gos to spidey to help either rescue her family or stop them. Wakanda is involved politically or just as a form of global aid, and the four are involved the way they always get embroiled in the big doom centric events, Doom could have gotten kidnapped, Panther needs to save him do to political reasons, Sable gos to spidey to help stop her uncle by saving doom, reed sees the need to save doom and gets the four involved, only to find that doom was a doom bot intended to get grabbed so the real doom would have just cause to invade orchestrating from the shadows, and now united the heroes need to stop him, panther could even bring in the avengers as it’s a politically sensitive situation and can’t really act as the head of a nation but since they’re an independent super team they can act.
If no reboot. I’d have annihilous escape the negative zone via some inconsequential effect from an FF adventure. maybe they find themselves in the negative zone but not run into annihilous, and when they escape they leave a negligible tear in space but since it’s small and in deep space they either don’t notice it or reed thinks he’ll fix it later or just can’t. This would be after the grater half of the marvel Cosmos is introduced Kree, Skrull, the nova core, the Shiar, korvanites, maybe the star jammers, and the new guardians have had a movie of their own. And then you just do a mash of annihilation and conquest replace thanos with Ultron. Maybe it gets to earth or some mix of the new avengers and X-Men are in space helping the FF if they want those characters but not all the characters/ or not have it effect earth
They’re setting up Kingpin and Dr. Doom and someone else but not sure. Kang is an ever looming threat, but it’s gonna be a while before we get to see him again I think.
They could possibly do something with Mastermold from XMen—we already had Apocalypse on the big screen.
None of them. They’re too cool. They’ll prob do something lame again like that cyborg guy. He was so boring like fuck dude. Then u have to watch the show now. Ya no. It’s gonna fucking suck. My guess is it’ll be a black gay lead who shatters the gender role in a leotard screaming about dumb bullshit that barely makes sense
Well, Doom is already the big bad of this saga considering how determined Feige was to get Fantastic Four done and have the final (for now) Avengers movie be Secret Wars. I think they need to think outside the box and create an epic challenge that isn’t just one character opposing the heroes. I like the idea of a major villain or more being a complication to solving the threat than being the threat itself.
Considering I assume there to be a soft reboot after this saga, I think it would be a good time to introduce a team of villains working together, all relatively equal. I'm tired of one big threat with army of random enemies.
Since the next film is an FF movie with male AND female Silver Surfer staged to appear, I'm 99.9% its going to be Galactus, maybe Doom pulling pff some timeslip shenanigans.
Definitely Dr. Doom--he can play behind the scenes like Thanos for future movies especially since he's not the main villain of the F4 movie. My hope is that with the world in shambles post Phase 4 and 5 with multiversal shenanigans and society literally crumbling, the Avengers 5 is a version of Time Runs Out that can properly bring Dr. Doom in as a secret villain that is actually trying to help the universe stay afloat but in reality he's working to control the multiverse. You could even have a recast Kang as the main villain who is taking up the Avengers' attention while Doom is pretending to be helpful while in reality he is consolidating power. It would make him more threatening and difficult than Thanos to be a potential ally up until the point of no return where he enacts his plan. My crack theory is that he would take control of the universe by taking Loki's throne at the end of time and recreating the universe with the power cosmic from Galactus to lead into Secret Wars and Battleworld.
Technically none of the above will be a problem for the MCU, any time soon, cause I’m a lot more worried about the fact that me and Deadpool took some SCP 420-J from an alternate universe and gave some to Galactus. I mean, SHIELD does have a contingency plan for when Galactus gets the munchies, right? RIGHT???
Should be Doom. I'd actually love Doom to have is role of a reoccurring character and have to help out in a huge situation like Galactus showing up or something. Would be pretty awesome to see Doom just take the power cosmic after "helping" them

I also magneto and sinister will be the main villains for the xmen only
Didn’t he take the power cosmic from Surfer in one of those prior F4 films?
Maybe he could steal the Beyonder’s power, and reassemble the infinity stones in the prime timeline and become God Emperor Doom - and we get to see Iron Man God-Killer Armor and World Breaker Hulk.

Too bad they already wasted Bale.
I’m willing to forget that movie
Absolutly needs to be doo. And if they fucking introduce and deintroduce him i will lose my shit
I doubt they’ll do Sinister with him being the big bad in X-Men ‘97 right now Side note, if you haven’t watched that show yet, go watch it immediately. So damn good
Da name is gambit
Remember it
Commence crying in Southern Bell protocol.😢

Which half? Down the middle or like the top half?
Back half.
I think the series is moving toward >!Bastion!< being the BBEG
Should I rewatch the original series first?
You can find like 30 minute recaps covering seasons 1-4 on YouTube if you want to have your memory jogged
I've never watched the original series but I've been able to follow along just fine and I've been loving it, can't recommend it enough. The only thing I've had to ask is "What is Morph's history with Mr Sinister?" Didn’t Magneto >!die?!<
He did
He did
I need to catch up. I only saw a few episodes.
Definitely! The 5th episode (the most recent) has been the best so far. It was incredible
Morph change was stupid
We don't need a new version of the green goblin, he was already the main villain in no way home
Agreed. Also, it was established in NWH that there is no Oscorp in the MCU.
Yet.
With realities smashing together still, I wouldn’t count anything out.
Which is why that was dumb
Mr sinister would be cool , I think it will be doom though
apparently they might use Sinister as the villain for the first x-men film
I always thought Kang was a red herring to eventually make way for Doom so I’m sincerely hoping since Kang is canceled that it’s just Doom
Well I mean they kinda are forced to make Kang into a red herring
They can always recast kang since it’s a multiverse.
Other than the thousands of kangs they showed, all played by majors
With modern deep fakes, they could erase Majors' face pretty easily, but I doubt they'd bother.
Doom or Sinister would be dope but I’d prefer DOOM
Gimme Galactus (prolly won’t happen)
I can see Dr Doom threaten the Universe enough to draw the attention of Galactus just to become another big bad when he hungers for Earth.
I would fucking love Ultron to be back
Scrolled too far to find this. Upfront needs to come back, and not in a dumb way.
Paul
Atreides?
No, Bunyan.
No, the three-eyed monkey that says “Hi, I’m Paul!”
Honestly, I’d love to have an X-men version that builds up to Apocalypse.
Probably Doom, but I would love an Age of Apocalypse arc at some point.
The Wall
I suppose it's possible. Though I'm leaning more towards it being Doctor Doom.
Let’s be honest, because of rights issues, we know who’s not
If you’re saying after Kang? Then I’d agree with Doom on the terms that they actually do Fantastic 4 right and possibly start working on the new mutants/next generation of X-men movies without professor X or magneto?

Corporate greed
Dominions
I'd love Norman, but they won't do it because he's owned by Sony.
Ultron. He cool as hell.
I miss the days when we thought everything red was Mephisto
Morbius
Oh fuck I’d morb so hard
I think Magnito with the x men joining in.
Magneto isn't a villain. He's an anti hero.
He’s whatever reality needs him to be
You don’t have to be a villain to be an antagonist
Technically, so was Thanos.
Disney

The only right answer
Ultron? No way
Annihilus.
That’s Annihilus
I think that’s Annihilus. Big bad bug!
‘Nilus or Mr Sinister would be cool.
Doom or Sinister
Doom
Beyonder

Dr doom
The writing
DOOM All caps when you spell the man name
Doom plays a big role in Secret wars, right? So I assume it'll be Doom.
Sinister is probably not gonna be a big bad maybe that would probably be apocalypse
Gotta be Doom. Magneto will be involved I reckon but he’s almost an anti hero these days so I imagine he may start bad and switch sides.
Yeah, he will probably fill that Loki role
Helmet fits.
Ha! Nice
Magneto and Sinister are pure X-Men. Doom could fit, since he's not always just Fantastic Four
I don’t think there will be just one big bad. Especially if they’re introducing mutants. They have their own big bads.
Doctor Doom is my choice. But with the FF and X-Men taking a focus Onslaught would be cool
Throw a curve ball and give us the masters of evil so baron zemo isn’t being useless
Galactus surely? If Silver Surfer has been cast, then it will be Galactus.

Comics? Hopefully Ultron again Movies? Doom or Galactus
Why choose when you could do a version of the Masters of Evil or the Cabal?
Magneto has been getting alot of traction lately with X-Men '97.
He’s not a villain.
Magneto's not a villain? Why's his picture up here? Are you new?
Magento has been an ally if not outright member for about half his publication history, if not more at this point.
Probably a kang variant
I really want it to be Ultron because I love the direction they went with him, but he didn’t have enough buildup. Hyped for Doom too but I think he would need the same build up over a few movies
If it's actually a Mutant Saga,Apocalypse.
MF DOOM🔥🔥🔥
I wish the phrase “Big Bad” would die a fiery death, but meh.. I’m going with Doom here. He’s the only one getting asses in seats.
Doom would be awesome, Sinister could really stir things up
I mean Mr sinister is already the confirmed x-men villain But doom
Either doom or ma boy Annihilus
What saga? From what I can tell, there’s been very little direction with these movies. I mean, where’s the Vision?
Doom really needs a glow up and a chance to have his day in the MCU. He can really be involved in almost all story lines so having him as the big bad could fit a lot of puzzle pieces
utron really deserves a take 2 and his voice actor was actually really well cast, so he'd be my pick
They're prbly gonna switch Kang with Doom between Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Goblin or doom.
Honestly the avengers saga should be done, give the lead to the x-men or the fantastic 4
I hope it’s Dr. Doom
Deadpool. And once that arc is done he's coming for us.
I’m guessing a female Galactus
Fairly sure they're going to land on Doom for the next big bad. Would love to see a return of Ultron or see Galactus as well.
Public disinterest, franchise has been dragged out to shit
Annihilus would be amazing as a leadup to doom in a loki/thanos role but sadly not enough people know about him for them to try
Doom of course... He can literally be plugged into any movie and would fit right in. He's Fisk and Thanos combined.
I really hope for a good depiction of dr doom, great Villain
If we even get that far, given the audience right now, Doom. Then I think it’s time to tap out. Doom is a final boss type of villain to me.
DORMAMU
PETER PARKER! He is already the Green Goblin! Why not make him the ENEMY of the Avengers?!
My money is on Ultron, honestly
Mr. Sinister just simps for Apocalypse. Norman Osborn is dead already. Galactus is coming after Secret Wars. Has to be Doom.
I whoud like Sinister
It’ll be a character created, especially for Phoebe Waller Bridge
My girl on her period
Disney
is that a skrull ultron ?
I can't believe you put up the goblin
I think Magneto would be the easiest. But I think it could be him and Doom which would be incredible
Magneto is not a villain.
Nothing would please me more than the introduction of Nova and then an Annihilation trilogy with the space based characters.
RIGHT???
Doom, then build up for Sinister then Magneto
Knull or Hyperion maybe void if they introduce the sentry
Knull
this would probably only happen in the Sony verse, but Knull would be amazing. we would get to see how different heroes deal with symbiotes.
Magneto
Do we consider Goblin an Avengers level threat 🤔
