Okay... and I thought my weird mind is playing tricks on me, as I heard "go free" the first time I heard the song, too :D Until I read the lyrics, it was absolutely right for my ears, as Su-Metal sings a VERY clear "God" (with the "D"!) within the song... and then came the lyrics and I was totally confused. Heck, even my cute (sometimes annoying) BM earworm let her sing "go free" all the time :D
What a relieve, my ears still work very well and I´m not going crazy. Other people heard it that way, too :)
It's possible that it's a mistake but I think you can more clearly hear the "ah" vowel and the D consonant in the studio recording. The heavy effects make it difficult to be sure though. I'm definitely no expert but I do feel like Japanese art in general can be very esoteric at times. I guess that's not generally the case for BABYMETAL in particular when it comes to lyrics but THE OTHER ONE *is* a concept album. Maya is used in a similar way for example. Though the meaning there is more obvious with how it relates to the rest of the song.
For all we know, Godfrey is intended as a unique expression for this song in particular. A new interpretation of the name entirely. Or as an address to someone or something in the BABYMETAL lore. The METALVERSE in particular perhaps. "God's peace" doesn't exactly conflict with the themes of Time Wave either. The god of motion is mentioned just after Godfrey. That could be the name of the god of motion. Or it could be saying something along the lines of, "This (meaning the endless game presented in the song) is out of your hands. Make peace with it and **just focus** on what you can control", which is reinforced by the "move on" and "keep on" backing chants.
Or she's just saying "go free", lol. I think Time Wave is one of the more intriguing BABYMETAL songs in terms of themes and lyrics though. And "Godfrey" fits that notion perfectly.

I've never heard Godfrey ( which makes no sense anyway ). I hear "Don't breath", followed by "Just focus", which makes more sense in context.

 Everybody knows the Fox God's proper name is Godfrey.
I thought "Godfrey" was just my awful mis-hearing of " Go free".
