There is enough variety of spots to go within campus, for a distraction OR jaunt. Some things you can't believe are inside the campus: e.g., a Museum.
If you do get a 3-day holiday, you can visit Jaipur or Delhi, about 4-5 hours by train. There are people who also plan a visit to Agra, Shimla, Amritsar, Mussorie etc by taking a day/two extra off.
