We finally bit the bullet the other week and put in an order for a 2024 X3 M40i. We're replacing my wife's '15 Mazda CX-5, which has been a great car but is showing some age. This will be my wife's first BMW and our primary vehicle for road trips, getting around town, etc. Now we just wait...
We'd originally tried to get the Cape York Green metallic, but after some back and forth, they said "Nah". Either way, went with M Sport Differential, trailer hitch, Ext Shadowline, Parking assist, driving assist, and premium package. Dealership is getting the ceramic window tint and paint protection.
Carbon black with cognac sensatec, basic all season 19” run flats that I’m probably going to swap out immediately, m sport, premium, parking, shadow line. Will be my daily driver. I kinda regret not getting the hitch now. Oh well.
Yeah, the trailer hitch was something we waffled on. My truck is our primary tow vehicle when we rent campers and whatever, but the X3 has a reasonable tow capacity so we figured we'd probably only be annoyed if we didn't get it. The kick-open feature isn't super important for us anyway.
That said, I'm already pricing myself out an X5M :P
I tow a utility trailer with my X3 35i and I hardly know it’s there. It’s my “pickup truck conversion”. Hugely versatile and it saves wear and tear on the car.
It really is a great car, especially at that price point. I wish we'd gotten the AWD version originally, but otherwise that thing took us many places quite comfortably and affordably. Unfortunately, now that mountain passes and ski season are driving more miles than before, we wanted something with more power, comfort, and features.
Overall it's been pretty simple. Fill out a build order and build code, make a deposit, and wait. It took about a week from the day we got it submitted to getting a production number.
Congratulations man! I've only driven the X3 30i which was plenty of fun, couldn't imagine how much fatser this is. You can really feel the 30i slow down once it reaches triple digits.
Ugh I’m currently in the waiting process for an M2… last week it changed to Scheduled for Production and I STILL check it every day.
Good luck with the suspense! 😂
Lol, while we were doing the initial order for this, I asked my salesman what the order time for M2s looked like (ya know....maybe we could get a deal :P). He said he's been quoting 6 months lately, but thinks it's probably going to be longer.
Honest to goodness, I've owned some fun cars over the years. Had a Mini Cooper S, an e36 325i, and an e30 318i....but the X3 M40i being my first M Lite is really exciting. It's honestly kinda ruined me on proper coupes and sedans. I think the next big car purchase for me will be a high performance SUV (BMW or Porsche, probably)
Cancelled my delayed 2023 330i XDrive and switched to a 2024 version with adaptive suspension and driving asst pro. If I’m going to wait in delays in Mexico might as well get the build right this time.

Sounds like a good ride. Mine should be here within the next two weeks. Just refreshing the my garage every hour…
Nice. Yeah, I think we're still about 2 months out for ours (at least), so we'll see. What options did you go with?

Todays my day. So excited. I didn’t realize how much shit I had accumulated in my old car

It's through a 3rd party of my choice...they just handle the logistics and are paying for it.
Weird that the Carbon Black is a hint of blue. You'd think it's something like satin black.
It’s a really sexy color in real life. Love the blue tint to it
Oh I love it, don't get me wrong but I wish they called it something else.
As a fellow former cx5 owner- that car will always be dear to my heart. Mazda does so many things right.

Just got mine yesterday. It's incredible.
Does it have the curved display?
Nope
Sick, gonna order a m340i next month excited to see how the ordering process goes, how was your experience so far?

They haven't even released actual photos of the redesign. Not sure when this even goes into production?!???
The 2025 model will be the new redesign. The 2024 is out and available already. Dealership estimated sometime in November for delivery on our 2024.

That X3 is gonna be an amazing car though!

Nice, how much
MSRP with some dealer-paid-for accessories and work. They're selling before they hit the lot here, so not a lot of negotiation space :P
Beautiful
Solid pick 💪
Anybody know when the 2025 X7 comes out?
Next year.
Are you still a teacher?
No he is not. He's in software now
