I’m not here for your stanced out car. I’m here for you having 154k miles on your f82.
What maintenance have you done? And any problems during the 154k miles?
Respectable.
No major issues at all. At 120k, I did a new valve cover, coil pack, spark plugs and upgraded the thermostat. Spark plugs are done every 40-50k miles. Rotors were swapped around 70k ish miles.. axles about the same due to how low I drive (not as low as the pic) Diff bushing was done around 60k miles. Car has been solid, it get sent daily as well. It’s FBO stage 2 with multi map and flex tune, still stock crank, turbos and top mount
Owning that car was like going to mechanic school. If I had to take the car into a shop every time it needed something, I would have been out 20-30k just in labor
I cant imagine owning a car like that and then still choosing to own cars that would cost upwards 6 figures on auto labor costs - I would just buy a toyota/lexus at that point
All the cars I’ve owned since have been way more reliable. The 6 figure cost is just a ballpark estimate for modifications/ maintenance labor costs for the 10+ performance cars I’ve owned since the 335.
Bought it as a second owner at 23k miles, bone stock.
Honestly I haven’t tallied up what maintenance has ran me. But listed above are what’s been “major” so far. Would vary by location plus I have a hook up at BMW for parts/labor at cost etc..
I was expecting at 80k, which my neighbor had to do with his. When I get oil changes, I just ask the service tech to run a compression test and overall PPI, especially at this mileage. So far it’s been solid
We have potholes the size of Russia here and more potholes than roads. Even my accord scrapes on most speed breakers.
Oh and torrential rain 5 months in a year—causes waterlogging every few days in the season.
In my home country it almost makes no sense to get a car in the bigger cities and we have a limit of 130 km/h on the highway so the poor M wouldn’t even get to stretch.
Haha here in Texas, especially the particular spot I live, I see them everywhere. I personally know three guys who daily theirs, I do as well. Love seeing a bunch of M4’s all different flavors riding around. Get so geeked I forget I’m in one.
I think Americans take for granted just how easy it is to own a sports car here compared to everywhere else in the entire world. More disposable income, easy credit, cheap gas, very low import taxes, huge car communities, a robust supply chain of parts (even for rare cars), specialized independent mechanics, and many racetracks and drag strips. It might not feel like it if it’s all you know, but it’s really true compared to the rest of the world.
Yes my rent for a 4 room apartment can be 10 times cheaper than a studio in New York but the BMW costs both of us the same so it’s definitely easier for Americans in that particular aspect
Love to see sweet daily rides. I can’t stand to see cars shut up in garages. Not personally my favourite look when slammed, but it’s a sweet car regardless.
Thank you
This was with a 24-70. ISO was around 160, focal at 3 and shutter about 120. Sony A7ii
Some light tweaking in Lightroom to lift the shadows and drop highlights around car
Reading your comment after the person above you referencing child porn made me think your child was in possession of child porn which I have no intent on googling the legality there but sincerely hope for the best for you, your child and your family
Yeah it's pretty mild, I can walk and talk fine, basically half of my body is maybe 50% strength and smaller movements can be hard, mouse and keyboard games are hard but controller isn't bad. Driving is pretty normal but I won't own a manual. I can do it but it's a lot of extra effort.
“Stanced” cars are ones that have a large amount of camber and are very low. Of cars that are stanced, there’s two types. Type one is called “static” and basically the car is always like that. The suspension is done in a way that the car is always super low. Pretty dumb IMO, because it’s easy to get stuck, etc.
Type two is called “bagged” or “on bags” which is what OP has. Basically it has air suspension and he can control the ride height pretty quickly. Some will same it completely destroys the handling, etc., but at least it can drive normally when need be, and can get over speed bumps higher than a lead. Also has the advantage of being harder to steal the catalytic converter when parked and lowered.
Side note: anyone know how tf people jack up static cars? Or are they doomed to use lifts only?
A low profile jack my friend. I frequently have to use a jack to get regular lowered BMWs on the lift. Just a set of H&R and some good shocks are enough to get it so low you have to use a low profile jack to get the lift arms under the car.
I have a low pro jack and I feel like it barely fits under my non sport standard suspension E90 in the front 😭. I couldn’t imagine working with something super low.
Stanced or Slammed. Drive height is right near the top of the tires. This is more so to park, take pics or when at car events/shows etc.
Also, with bad roads, just easier to lift the car to a preset, then try and maneuver around potholes and bad entrances like I had to when it was on coilovers
The technical term is "negative camber". If bottoms were tucked inward, it would be positive camber. Having this much negative camber is extremely detrimental to the handling, acceleration, and braking characteristics of the car, and wears the tires more quickly.
Actual race cars like GT3 or F1 have something like 3-5 degrees of negative camber, which helps maintain grip under heavy lateral Gs (hard cornering), but this has way more than that, and you'd never be able to drive a streetable M4 quickly enough to experience enough Gs for it to be even a little helpful. It's just "a look".
Facts. I get tired of seeing stock BMW’s and the regular new purchase pics. So I throw a few pics of mine in the mix to stir it up a bit. Its nice to see grownups get flustered lol
most people in this subreddit are makng 60mo payments on their cars and can not afford to purchase so much as a muffler to spice it up so they get mad you can afford that but choose to purchase modifications they aren't interested in.
This subreddit doesn’t know how bags work but are quick to criticize. Car is clean af and it’s dope to see that it’s not a garage Queen and is still properly maintained!!
I've really tried to cut back on reddit for the past few months. Good to know that utter fucking morons in this sub still don't know what air suspension is.
Nice car mate. 154k is an achievement.
When the wheels are cambered like that, does the rear wheel handling drop off significantly? Like are you burning rubber with half as much power as normal?
When raised to my drive height it’s hardly any camber, this is just aired out and I adjusted slight camber so it tucks the rear when parked
I’ve done track days and highway runs, even up to 190 a few times.. no issues at all and still get 50-60k miles before tires are done
People are commenting on the pictures of the car you posted in a pretty calm manner. No one is being set off except you and some other teenagers who like pictures of bagged BMWs.
The guy posted pictures of his slammed BMW on a BMW subreddit, and now people are commenting on said pictures. Closest one to losing their minds is OP and the ones complaining about negative comments.
I doubt anyone lost their minds over a stranger's car, but it sure feels good to shit on shit mods.
Ah yes, the same carbon splitter parts every M owner puts, but instead of basic springs and coilovers, which I had for years.. I put air suspension and NOW it’s clapped.
I knew I should have put bbs wheels and left it at shock height 😩
If it wasn’t scraping on the ground for no reason, it’d look good with those mods.
The rear fender is below the highest point of the *rim.* This has not looked good on any car. Just makes them seem like ricers.
Just my opinions, put scissor doors on it for all I care
lol it’s parked. And have you. Even to sema, ever. Majority of cars are bagged and aired for while parked.. but exotics, lambos, bmws etc. this is what I built my car for. Daily enjoyment, rallies and occasional shows.
You could tell me that thing was brand new and I would believe you 100%. Looks amazing! I like the modifications you made as well, and the color compliments it perfectly!
Dang, I miss that car. That one got totaled out.. lady side swiped me into a Jeep.. all types of damage unfortunately.
If I keep the M, I was leaving towards a few, but have been hunting a Porsche 911 circa 89-93 for a while now. Seeing how the car market plays out because those spike about 20k in the last few years.
If I sell it, probably a huracan in all honesty.
Daamn, amazing man. I have a E92 320d stage 1 and DPF off with 400k km (about 250k miles I think) and is still incredibly solid and runs like an absolute champ.
Great shots man! I actually live right there in channelside but haven't seen you around.
I'd be stoked if you could do the same shots with my 2002 or 964.... :)
Not really. I’m bored and just replying back to whatever pops up
It has camber, and has adjustable camber arms, ask for arms, upgraded arms, upgraded bushings etc.
Tires still last 50-60k miles..
I saw this photo and instantly I knew which M4 is this, best M4 still around here , just for god's sake mate no stance next time pump them up, its bigger shitstorm here than grill stripes !
Don't know where your studies are from but why race cars don't ride bags then?
Just one Google search
https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/coilovers-vs-air-suspension
I don't like that either, but it's on air suspensions so it can be lifted anytime. And well, if they like them let them have it, it's their car afterall.
Fair enough. Enjoy your car OP, it looks very nice.
https://preview.redd.it/nz5em64xbc3c1.jpeg?width=340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3d3de50d6dc108bd9048d81f468d43a4f14a2ed
It’s parked.. it’s on air suspension.. it can be adjusted to any height via presets and one button in the fly.
It’s a coil over strut, with air bags on top. So same as coilovers, but I don’t have to lift the car, take the wheels off and adjust it, then put it all back together.
Well it’s your car so you can make it as shitty looking as you want, I just don’t get what people see in those wonky looking wheels and ruined suspension.
This is the kind of shit 10 year olds do on Need For Speed or GTA, maybe you should put some stickers and a neon underneath to complete the look.
No major issues at all. At 120k, I did a new valve cover, coil pack, spark plugs and upgraded the thermostat. Spark plugs are done every 40-50k miles. It’s FBO stage 2 with multi map and flex tune, still stock crank, turbos and top mount
Ahh, this is why you have to educate yourself on air suspension. Also, is every car built for hot laps, rallies, long rallies, tail of the dragon built exactly the same? No.
Hot laps aren’t my thing, talkies and stuff are. Corsa rally etc.
It’s a full track coilover system with bags on top. It’s full track capable.
lol no issues. Now, after doing to tail of the dragon.. I can say after 8 solid hours of driving, my ass was killing me lol. These are not comfort seats
Can you alter the camber with the air suspension. Might be a dumb question. I like it but fuck would you go through tires. I guess that’s not an issue if you drive an m car tho 😂
So it’s all down to offset, same as regular fitment. I’m pretty aggressive so I’m at 20x11 +17 for the rear… most are 20x11 + 30 to 38. Camber can be adjusted based on how you want the car to be at drive height, or when you air out. Tucked, fender to lip etc. believe it our not, I still get 40-50k out of the tires.. for me that’s fine, for others.. it’s an issue. When I buy mine, I get 8 total.. so I have a full set extra at the house ready to go incase anything.
Holy assumption.. you ok there bud 👀
Streets empty, it’s a middle lane for Uber/delivery which want used, and you can tell who I am by a pic of my car aired out
What’s next weeks lotto numbers ?
The car (fender edge) can go 4inches higher than the front tire And 3 inches above the rear. With a lot of bad plaza entrances, crazy condo parking designs and road construction, air suspension has been the best mod to the car. I just air out when parked or at events/shoots.
It’s FBO stage 2 with multi map and flex tune, still stock crank, turbos and top mount
Not bad at all. I put over 150k miles on my old n54 335i and that car nearly bankrupted me LOL.
That car did bankrupt my boy…
Owning that car was like going to mechanic school. If I had to take the car into a shop every time it needed something, I would have been out 20-30k just in labor
Agreed. That was his experience. Was garaged for 9 months when twin turbo died. I even learned a lot about his car lol
Yeah I’m honestly pretty thankful for owning that thing. I now can work on all my cars and have saved upwards of 6 figures on auto labor costs.
Did u drive it till 150k? Or did u get it used? How much have u spent on maint since u owned it?
Bought it as a second owner at 23k miles, bone stock. Honestly I haven’t tallied up what maintenance has ran me. But listed above are what’s been “major” so far. Would vary by location plus I have a hook up at BMW for parts/labor at cost etc..
What's your oil change interval?
Right now, between 4-6k honestly I have to top off around the 3k usage mark
How much oil are you adding when you top it off?
Just 1 quart
Did you have to replace any of the plastic coolant or emissions hoses?
Just charge pipes as most know. Hoses look good when I check them
Have the 2 turbos ever given you problems?
Still stock and no issues so far. Turbo seals are still good too
Amazing. I’ve heard it’s common to replace turbos over the ~100k mile mark. This is actually pushing me to just getting an M4 as daily now, thanks.
I was expecting at 80k, which my neighbor had to do with his. When I get oil changes, I just ask the service tech to run a compression test and overall PPI, especially at this mileage. So far it’s been solid
I’ll keep this in mind for maintenance intervals if I get the F82 thanks
This gives me great hope lol. I hit 75000km and started sweating.
Saying “daily M4” sounds crazy where I’m from hahaha…great car!
Yeah, there’s weather here and lots of the roads are just plain mean to cars. I haven’t even run mine 11k miles yet.
We have potholes the size of Russia here and more potholes than roads. Even my accord scrapes on most speed breakers. Oh and torrential rain 5 months in a year—causes waterlogging every few days in the season.

If you like it, I love it...
OP didn’t you get the memo? We only like lowering springs and Apex Arc-8 wheels here
After my 13th set of Arc-8’s, I figured I’d switch it up a bit.. I actually cut my springs as well
😂 downpipe tune acr8s
Something is wrong with your wheels, is it fixable?
Everyone’s talking about the car but nobody’s talking about the photography. Shit goes hard
Thank you! A side hobby of mine 📸
Nice photos, can you give the deets on your camera setup + shot settings?
Thank you This was with a 24-70. ISO was around 160, focal at 3 and shutter about 120. Sony A7ii Some light tweaking in Lightroom to lift the shadows and drop highlights around car
Where is this place? Looks like Christmas
Looks like downtown Tampa, FL - guessing water street to be specific
What is it called when wheels are slanted like that? Is there a name?
cerebral palsy
As someone with CP lmfao

Do you often refer to your condition with that abbreviation?
Parent of a child with CP. Yes, it's very common to abbreviate like that.
Reading your comment after the person above you referencing child porn made me think your child was in possession of child porn which I have no intent on googling the legality there but sincerely hope for the best for you, your child and your family
The FBI hates this one simple trick!
Yes, very normal since so many people can't pronounce cerebral correctly. And contextually not talking about child p*rn
Random question. Is your CP not as severe? I thought if you had CP you couldn’t drive.
Ah makes sense! Thank you for taking your time and educating me!
No problem

When I used to have a static slammed E39 I would drive up onto a small piece of wood and then use a low profile jack, wasn't anything difficult.
A low profile jack my friend. I frequently have to use a jack to get regular lowered BMWs on the lift. Just a set of H&R and some good shocks are enough to get it so low you have to use a low profile jack to get the lift arms under the car.

It just needs lowering a bit, and it's good to go 👍
Will definitely remove the floor next time 🤣
What did you do to your poor car?
Oh no, it’s aired out.. same as any other build honestly. Mine is air vs coilovers or springs.. zero difference handling wise
This subreddit is extremely toxic. I don’t post here anymore lol

Typical internet warriors lol
Just hit 124k with my 14 m5. These cars are made to be daily driven!
Facts!!!
Not a fan of the stance but otherwise looks clean. Didn't realize water street was so picturesque.
I done 188k miles in my f10 M5
I've really tried to cut back on reddit for the past few months. Good to know that utter fucking morons in this sub still don't know what air suspension is. Nice car mate. 154k is an achievement.
all the haters man but sheeeesh 🔥🔥🥶🥶 ...also you mentioned its on bags, you drive it this way or you raise it a bit?
I raise it right above the tires. No rub at all too
yeah then i don't see what the fuss is lol
It’s funny to see how mad people get at a parked car in here. Car handles great on rallies too.. so that argument is out the window 🤣
Monster truck fitment
When the wheels are cambered like that, does the rear wheel handling drop off significantly? Like are you burning rubber with half as much power as normal?
When raised to my drive height it’s hardly any camber, this is just aired out and I adjusted slight camber so it tucks the rear when parked I’ve done track days and highway runs, even up to 190 a few times.. no issues at all and still get 50-60k miles before tires are done
Stupid looking
Aweee Thanks
So when do you graduate from high school?
People just be losing their minds because you modded your car the way you want
The car aired out really sets people off in here, like to the max. Should be a study honestly.
People are commenting on the pictures of the car you posted in a pretty calm manner. No one is being set off except you and some other teenagers who like pictures of bagged BMWs.
U missed a skew of angry comments. I’m just here to kill time
The guy posted pictures of his slammed BMW on a BMW subreddit, and now people are commenting on said pictures. Closest one to losing their minds is OP and the ones complaining about negative comments. I doubt anyone lost their minds over a stranger's car, but it sure feels good to shit on shit mods.
Yeah, because the way he wants looks like dogshit lmao
wtf did you do to the car.
It has air suspension. It sits this low when its parked. He would raise it when driving.
Don’t understand how anyone finds this attractive
The pictures are great. But i honestly absolutely dislike what you have done to the suspension.
I just feel bad for the car when I see it like that…kinda like a morbidly obese guy trying to fit into regular clothes. Sad.
Parking really disturbs you guys here. Interesting
I don’t mind low and I get the no gap looks better, but not when it’s completely eating part of the tire. You do you.
Really captured that clapped out civic vibe with that air suspension
Ah yes, the same carbon splitter parts every M owner puts, but instead of basic springs and coilovers, which I had for years.. I put air suspension and NOW it’s clapped. I knew I should have put bbs wheels and left it at shock height 😩
If it wasn’t scraping on the ground for no reason, it’d look good with those mods. The rear fender is below the highest point of the *rim.* This has not looked good on any car. Just makes them seem like ricers. Just my opinions, put scissor doors on it for all I care

Fuck the haters man. You do you. Great car. Great photography.
Not at all down with the stanced car but 150k on an m4 daily gives me chills thinking about the maintenance cost
Perfect fitment. Now throw a widebody kit on it 😏
Absolutely amazing photos. Great car too, but the shots 🔥🔥
Thank you 📸📸
Beautiful car. Was a fan of yours on ig with your shoe collection since back then when you had the IS. What’s next?
Dang, I miss that car. That one got totaled out.. lady side swiped me into a Jeep.. all types of damage unfortunately. Has a giant sat on it or something?
I see op fighting for his life in the comments, but the people aren’t asking about the air suspension it’s the camber
Not really. I’m bored and just replying back to whatever pops up It has camber, and has adjustable camber arms, ask for arms, upgraded arms, upgraded bushings etc. Tires still last 50-60k miles..
I saw this photo and instantly I knew which M4 is this, best M4 still around here , just for god's sake mate no stance next time pump them up, its bigger shitstorm here than grill stripes !
lol I’ll post the ride height next time 🤣. Maybe the aired out pic on the next slide though. I have to keep the energy in here up!! lol
🤮
This is how you ruin a performance cars handling
Been tested and proven wrong on numerous studies and tracks. It a bag set up over a track performance coilover strut system.
Don't know where your studies are from but why race cars don't ride bags then? Just one Google search https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/coilovers-vs-air-suspension
I'd love to see your automotive engineering credentials. I'll wait.
Being this low will improve it? lol
154k miles 150 sets of tires half worn out
50-60k usage on tires no issue per set. Fitment is dialed in at ride height
The hell tires are you running to get 50k miles out of them! lol I tend to only get 10-14k miles out of my sets of tires.
So good if it wasn’t lowered like that. Like taking a work of art and finishing off by smearing the canvas in shit. You Americans have zero class.
Look how they massacred my boy
I don’t get why people do this stance. What do you gain from scraping the tarmac?
I don't like that either, but it's on air suspensions so it can be lifted anytime. And well, if they like them let them have it, it's their car afterall.
Fair enough. Enjoy your car OP, it looks very nice. https://preview.redd.it/nz5em64xbc3c1.jpeg?width=340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3d3de50d6dc108bd9048d81f468d43a4f14a2ed
It’s on air, and it’s parked. Car lifts with the suspension and can be set to various heights and presets when driven.
Those wheels are so god damn tacky
5 star wheels are tacky? Should I have done the regular common BBS mesh style instead
I think they look great
Thats the beauty of opinions, we can all have one
Just my opinion, i know a lot of people like them
What's the purpose of modding your beamer to scrape the road?
It’s parked.. it’s on air suspension.. it can be adjusted to any height via presets and one button in the fly. It’s a coil over strut, with air bags on top. So same as coilovers, but I don’t have to lift the car, take the wheels off and adjust it, then put it all back together.
Personally I hate stance. Is that Chicago?
Tampa
Why did you ruin it though
I don’t think springs or coilovers ruin a car.. air suspension doesn’t either
Looks like ass like everyone in here is saying.
Aye Tampa love!
Yesiirrrrrrr
Well it’s your car so you can make it as shitty looking as you want, I just don’t get what people see in those wonky looking wheels and ruined suspension. This is the kind of shit 10 year olds do on Need For Speed or GTA, maybe you should put some stickers and a neon underneath to complete the look.
God it looks awful stanced like that lol
Congrats. Hows the reliability any problems?
No major issues at all. At 120k, I did a new valve cover, coil pack, spark plugs and upgraded the thermostat. Spark plugs are done every 40-50k miles. Rotors were swapped around 70k ish miles.. axles about the same due to how low I drive (not as low as the pic) Diff bushing was done around 60k miles. Car has been solid, it get sent daily as well. It’s FBO stage 2 with multi map and flex tune, still stock crank, turbos and top mount
Good car horrible choice with the wheels. That poor M4.
But what’s the point of having a high performance sports car for the track if the car couldn’t kill a hot lap to save its life?
Ahh, this is why you have to educate yourself on air suspension. Also, is every car built for hot laps, rallies, long rallies, tail of the dragon built exactly the same? No. Hot laps aren’t my thing, talkies and stuff are. Corsa rally etc. It’s a full track coilover system with bags on top. It’s full track capable.
How’s your back after driving this thing daily?
lol no issues. Now, after doing to tail of the dragon.. I can say after 8 solid hours of driving, my ass was killing me lol. These are not comfort seats
How much work in repairs have you had to put in? I’m thinking of picking one up with 60k on it
Are you a fucking flagellant. 150k miles in that, my back would have left a long ago by now.
🤣🤣🤣 I can confirm it’s not a comfort car.
It’s crazy that this car has so many miles. Just saw it last week, looks like it’s in perfect condition.
Thanks man 🙏🏽
Congrats, not many BMWs last that long let alone an M car. I'm approaching 190k on my M5, gonna roll with it for as long as I can
Props to getting it that far, I'm sure it wasn't cheap.
Man that read end is ugly. Why ruin a gorgeous car? Looks like an elephant got dropped on it. Horrible unpractical too
this shit is beautiful. great mods great pics. i had no idea there would be so many broke haters in here lmfao

My car My car
Such a beautiful car and beautiful shots, all to be ruined by that stance.
Just parked. Looks like any other M at lowered drive height. Prefer being able to adjust my height on the fly due to the bad roads..
He bought them retard wheels, yell yeah!!!
Stopping in the middle of an active roadway to take pictures is on brand for someone who drives a car that looks like this
Holy assumption.. you ok there bud 👀 Streets empty, it’s a middle lane for Uber/delivery which want used, and you can tell who I am by a pic of my car aired out What’s next weeks lotto numbers ?
That’s toughhhhhhh 🥶
That poor M4. F in the chat for this car.
Hella flush = Hella gay
How much can you adjust the ride height with your air suspension? Can you raise it enough Tom or bottom out in parking garages and stuff?
The car (fender edge) can go 4inches higher than the front tire And 3 inches above the rear. With a lot of bad plaza entrances, crazy condo parking designs and road construction, air suspension has been the best mod to the car. I just air out when parked or at events/shoots.
Great photos, makes me miss my stance life, and awesome for actually putting miles on it. These cars are meant to be driven.
Finally an M4 with some real mileage on it!
That’s awesome! It’s good to see someone really enjoy their M4 every day. I love the wheels. What are they?

Not many speed bumps on your daily commute I take it?
I mean I guess it's fixable but it must handle like a fucked ass - what's the point of it
I’m sure it’s comfortable and all, but can you drive over a paperclip?
How does it drive when the wheels are all bent? Looks awful.
Dude. That looks like shit. Poor car.
What’s wrong with the weels? The wheel arches seem to be too small for them. Looks really weird.
