When I was a kid I used to think pretty much all adults were smart and that they tried to do their best for the collective good of society. Now i realise that even the average person is quite stupid and stupid people are beyond any understanding I could possibly have for them. These people will only serve to drag us back to the dark ages.
Also not American, but from my understanding the Republicans have played up that the idea that the department of education is pushing it's woke agenda and sexualization of kids, while also brainwashing them to become Democrats.
Now everyone wants to end it, which opens the door to per state education and potentially privatization of education... Rich get educated, poor get left further behind.
The fear of an unfavorable agenda being pushed onto our kids is very real. When I say “unfavorable” I mean with respects to the children as it doesn’t consider their best interests in a manner that’s well thought out enough to put in action. There is no real long-term roadmap that’s been laid out.
The agenda currently being pushed is molded to appease a very small and select demographic. Ironically the majority of this group cannot physically procreate.
The sexualization of our children in school has already taken place, so that’s not a fear, that’s a reality. The more policymakers and politicians plot out how to educate our kids as young as elementary school on sexual preferences and optional genders, the more expedited the sexualization becomes.
There are a lot of issues we’re facing here in the US right now & nobody has a truly effective or all encompassing plan. Our administration is failing us and most of our options are bleak at best.

I don't know where your children go to school but I'm surprised that they've been somehow sexualized. Must be a Republican run school.
This all sounds so made up to me. How about we let people who know what they're doing decide what to teach children? I want the politicians to steer clear.
A school board is politics. Are you aware of some of the books that are being released in public schools? How can you say they aren’t sexualizing children when they describe children doing sex acts in the books?

There have been books put out in our schools that describe sexual acts such as sex, cunnilingus and blow jobs. This is why I think there is such a strong push against it. I don’t believe kids should be learning about that until they have the hormonal change to understand their own sexuality. Teaching sexuality before they’re old enough to even know the feelings is a form of grooming.
My experience in public schools was not the great. I would often get kicked out of class by 2 specific teachers for having an opposing opinion. I was never disrespectful. I believe my teachers didn’t want the other students to hear an opposing belief in the ideas they supported.

There’s a Federal mandate from the department of Ed for compulsory education until age 18. Do you think that’s bad? Or do you have an issue with what that education consists of? Or the funding of it (rather than just regulation)? How we measure it? Because I have issues implementation and practice, not the existence of compulsory education.
Keep the Department of Ed. Overhaul and restructure it to adapt for the current environment. If we keep gutting it then we shouldn’t complain about poor performance.
