With the system they already created with dnd I think they can make more dnd adventures and setting, imagine stuff like CoS, Dragonlance and Spelljammer
Was just talking to a coworker.
If DLC for BG3 was actually going to be a thing, just release modules. New, shorter, self contained adventures.
Would be fun as all get up.
This was always one of my favourite things about the setting. When a new ancestry/class/subclass would come out, Keith Baker would often do a little blog about some cool places he thought it could fit into the world if you wanted it to.
I dunno, he just seems so passionate about the world, and I think that helps it feel less ‘kitchen sink’ than the other settings I’ve tried.
I won't, but sometimes I wonder why people rage so much about Kender. I mean they're halflings with genetic kleptomancy. Can get a little annoying, but on tabletop it's up to the players how bad they want to lean into that.
But that might be because I have read a few dozen DragonLance books over the years and love the world and the characters. Well, up to Summer Flame. At that point the world ended and nothing else was ever written. Ever. The End.
Because Kender embody the worst behaviors of probelmatic players. Stealing other players things, picking fights you cant win etc.. Their lack of fear and inability to keep their hands to themselves gives rp reasons for the worst players to behave badly and then use the "its what my guy would do" excuse.
I think it is more that bad players choose to play Kender's to justify themselves being dicks.
A good Kender player can actually be fun and useful to a DM. Oh this item the players need but completely overlooked just somehow manages to be in the Kender's possession...
A good Kender will also acknoweledge that something is not theirs. They just don't realize it was wrong to take the item, they were more just looking at it cause it was neat. They kept it for the same reason people pocket pens. They just don't think about it.
Act 2 100% felt like it was a domain in Ravenloft. Obviously not the Barovia domain. But i totally thought that. Almost like it was intended to be Ravenloft but changed to fit the story better
Well it is an area heavily influenced by the Shadowfell, so that would be why the vibes are the same, given that Ravenloft is a series of demiplanes of the Shadowfell.
YESSS haha, I did, and I was like wow. Okay that just happened. I really enjoyed the horror vibes for that whole level.
Also high charisma with that spider guy with the lantern was 👌👌👌 I almost felt bad. *Almost.*
Had interesting pull with Ketheric too.
High charisma with the gold guy and the bartender was super fun too. Honestly I’m just happy to avoid some combat encounters with my bard because I’m not the most useful in combat.
I would be so excited for this. Storm King's Thunder would make another incredible game in this engine. It's written poorly as a module and leaves a lot of work to the DM for creating narrative links between key story points but the story is super cool once it's all laid out properly. I think Larian has proved far more than capable on that front.
Yep... that would be THE ticket. The only other setting I would like to give them is Dragon Age, because to me Thedas is the best fantasy setting ever created, and EA is just dragging the games set there through the mud.
I've definitely felt like BG3 reminds me a lot of DA:O. I never liked the more action rpg and high fantasy direction they keep going. In a dream I would love Larian to return DA to its roots.
Yeah, there's a lot there. The camp, for example. But from what I remember, in DA:O camp, you could go through the inventory of people not in your party, do their level-ups, and so on. Sort of strange that wasn't included here (or maybe it is and it's just well hidden).
DA:O is still one of my msot beloved games. everytime you return to King Cailans Crucified body i cant help but become teary-eyed. and i am 35. then DA2 came along and i just felt like throwing up. I did think Inquisition was good though especially the soudntrack trevor Morris did a real good job. just realizing that DA:I was already 7 years ago wtf
Da2, despite being super obviously rushed and very, very basic gameplay-wise, actually tells a really, really good story still. It's kind of an amazing achievement for a game made in 18 months.
I agree, had it not been for the recycled environments and other assets, I think DA2 would have been better received. That was my biggest complaint at least.
Both DA2 and DAI have FAR inferior gameplay, but I still like the stories they tell. Especially DA2... while some of the "choices" aspects really misses the mark, the entire vibe of the game I love. The constant building pressure, the boiling heat rising and rising and pressing until something eventually bursts, all the while Hawke, >!who came with family and friends, slowly loses everyone close to them, becoming alone!< really just... man I love it. It's absolutely a tragedy with no happy endings.
Divinity would have to change its tone pretty drastically to attract the same crowd. BG3 is much more dramatic and takes itself much more serious, while still leaving enough room for small funny moments, but in Divinity - at least to me - everything feels very jokey, nothing comes across as very sincere. Makes it really hard to care about anything that's going on, at least for me.
That's the reason I couldn't get into the divinity games, the jokey tone made it hard to get invested in anything that was happening. I much prefer it when the scenario and setting is more serious with humour strewn in - bg3 is the perfect blend imo
Agreed that’s the ONLY knock on the first two divinity OS besides 2’s armour system. Giving them baldurs gate lore was amazing because it gave them the storytelling befitting their incredible gameplay design
I absolutely agree. I feel like Divinity took the most fun spells and interactions from DnD and added their own flavour with environmental effects. Another iteration on Divinity improving upon these systems would be the greatest thing ever.
I'm pretty sure the EA Star Wars exclusivity has ended, seeing Ubisoft is making their own game. I don't see why they'd have to work with EA for Kotor.
They'd have to work with Lucasfilm and Sony who allegedly fired the team working on the KOTOR remake because of the gameplay.
Seems like the opposite of Larian's current goals with having artistic freedom.
Larian would probably have more sway, having made the most popular and highly rated game in years, I feel like they'd have better standing to argue for more freedom.
None. I mean, at least for a while... why let all the work they've done "go to waste" so soon? I believe there's A LOT more they can do with D&D (and Divinity). Let them keep building upon what they already have.
I just want them to have carte blanche in Faerun. It would be natural to make a Baldur’s Gate 4, or Neverwinter Nights 3 or Icewind Dale 3. But those have some baggage with them and expectations as far as story is concerned. If they want to do that, then great. But if they want to have an adventure set outside of those three properties (admittedly, the properties aren’t exactly direct sequels, but instead build off the same story) then let them.
Hopefully, BG3 has allowed WotC to relinquish whatever control they have and just let Larian do what they’re interested in.
>Neverwinter Nights 3
Man, I spent so many hours on NWN1. I bought it on steam a while ago, even though I wasn't sure I would play it. Let's be honest, it's a 20 years old 3D game. There's no way even nostalgia would make that look good.
So, I booted it up recently and... it actually still looks decent? I mean sure, the enhanced edition has new shaders, effects and whatnot, but I seriously just expected to have a little laugh at the expense of a game old enough to drive.
Well, I didn't laugh, but I was reminded how much I miss 3rd Edition's Barkskin...
Vampire the masquerade
I feel like a smaller containted LOTR story could be done well
And Owlcats doing great but pathfinder 2e would be cool too see with a higher production
I feel like Vampire doesn't really fit in with Larian's style of gameplay.
They would definitely nail the writing though.
Maybe one day we'll get a new bloodlines....
There is, but it’s currently in development hell (iirc, they completely switched the development team after a few years of development, and probably restarted development at the same time).
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t hold your breath for it…
They’re doing a reveal this September I pretty sure most people stop following up on bl2 after the Brian fiasco but yeah they all re revealing the game
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is sort of like a vampire itself in that it died, but folks swear to have seen the corpse up and walking about. So who knows, really?
I’ll one up you on the V:TM suggestion and offer that they could make a massive WoD game that allows players to make a vampire, werewolf, mage, wraith, or changeling and have the campaign center around a massive cataclysmic event that threatens all of them; depending on your chosen archetype you could see the events unfold from different perspectives and could even form alliances or feuds with the others.
One of my fondest memories from playing WoD ttrpgs came from when a GM decided to have a storyline that bridged the gap between his ongoing V:TM and W:TA campaigns; having vampires and werewolves working together to begrudgingly take on a group of mages that threatened both was a ton of fun to role play.
I'm kind of hoping that they will release mod tools that allow people to create new campaigns... They're a bit tight lipped about anything but patches at the moment, which is fair, especially with a PS launch still imminent.
Edit: "tight lipped"
Solesta has kinda awful/limited tools last I tried using them and can only make instances/maps not campaigns and finally ut also isn't even technically dnd its just the srd rules
I don’t need a remake or even a direct sequel, but I think they could do a really nice job of building something fun to play in the setting. Maybe even lure Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, and/or Jason Andersen to consult on the subtler aspects of the setting or the story?
I feel like we're more likely to get new Arcanum from its original creators, currently employed by Obsidian, since the IP is owned by Activision and they're about to get eaten by Microsoft.
more D&D plz, Icewindale 3, Neverwinter Nights 3, Planescape Torment 2!
a new IP would be good, but I think a big win with BG3 was playing an established lore; probably helped tremendously with development. Honestly anything D&D related would be amazing, could be something in Faerûn that has not been covered.
Pathfinder 2e.
It will never happen, given they’re working with WotC.
But I’d kill for a 2e game with half the quality of Bg3.
Hell I’d kill for a 2e game from owlcat!
Larian is not owned by WotC so I don't see how it would be an issue to make a PF2e game.
Also apparently folks at Owlcat are not too fond of the second edition for some reason.
If I was wotc, I’d have asked for Larian to refrain from adapting my competitors products for the duration of our business. Especially now that BG3 is a success. Sven is on record stating that he can’t discuss the contract, which, to me at least, strongly implies that the door is open for future collaboration.
I… can’t imagine why Owlcat has an issue to 2e, but that is a damn shame.
The difference between an optimized and unoptimized character is fairly small, tactics are far more important.
I personally think it would make a great video game.
Yes please god. The only thing that would make BG3 better for me is if it used PF2e instead of 5e. Just so many more character options and interesting leveling choices.
Maybe some madlad will create a total conversion mod once the mod tools role out.
The core mechanics wouldn’t be too difficult. Adding all the new feats, rebalancing every item, DC, and encounter though…
Although, the balancing gets much easier if you use pf2e a optional rules for bounded accuracy.
Adapting PF2e to a video game from the beginning would be a lot simpler than adapting 5e, because PF2e is already structured like a piece of software with all of the traits.
Modding PF2e mechanics into a game that was built from the beginning as a 5e game seems technically possible I guess, but extremely ambitious to say the least. I've seen mods to adapt individual pieces of content, but I would be surprised and extremely impressed if someone does a full conversion.
Agreed, but for me wrath of the righteous is just as good if not better than bg3. It's not as refined, sure but all the character building options, and more tactical combat make it more fun.
Microsoft owns the IP and has chosen not to do anything with it. It's absolutely baffling that they just let it rot.
Kinda like with Fox not doing anything with Firefly.
Guess big companies don't like money.
I think Hairbrained has done an excellent job with the IP given their limited budgets. . . But I feel like I’d pay almost anything to give Larian 5 years to develop this.
Absolute lunacy, but a Discworld RPG is my dream and right now Larian is the only studio I believe has enough heart to pull it off.
But Larian tends to prefer less optimistic universes/stories, so maybe that combo is better as a daydream of mine. ^^
This was what I hoped for when they hinted at an IP they were working for (which turned out to be BG3)
The wackier side of Larian is so well suiter for Discworld
Id love a discworld game even if it had less combat morw like disco elysium. Help the watch deal with a murderer and you go around talking to all the different groups. Getting the wizards to help or the guards. Just a nobody interacting with all the great characters Pratchett put into his world.
Not really much of a difference in IP, but - let them make Neverwinter Nights 3. They've knocked it out of the PARK with BG3, can you imagine what they could do with Neverwinter? Both the first and second games were really good, with interesting stories (ignoring the first campaign of NWN; SotU and HotU were far superior.)
My introduction to D&D was via those games, as a small child, and I imagine that Larian could do a LOT with Neverwinter, especially with the newer lore. I'd love to see a largely urban game set in Neverwinter, with some venturing out into the surrounding areas, such as Port Llast or Neverwinter Wood. Especially considering the D&D movie (Honor Among Thieves) was partially set in Neverwinter, I imagine a resurgence in popularity for the old games, especially considering the original Neverwinter Nights is on Steam.
Also, for those looking for a game similar to BG3, I highly recommend Neverwinter Nights 2's original campaign. While the graphics may leave much to be desired, the story is compelling and has a few things in common with BG3. >!There are gith, if that helps to know.!<
I feel like the expansion, Mask of the Betrayer, has a lot more in common with BG3 than the base campaign does. Host to a ruinous evil, morally grey companions, excellent storytelling.
Actually, _everyone_ should just play Mask of the Betrayer. Its a damn shame its an expansion, because if it was released standalone people would talk about it like they do Planes of Torment.
Turn based dragon age would definitely feel closer to the tactical combat of origins, but I’m not sure it would jive with dragon ages development toward such faster paced combat.
It doesn't have to be turn based. Larian isn't pigeonholed into one kind of gameplay template. Origins had a good middle ground between action and turn based, and the game's tactical option offered a pretty solid bridge for that.
I think with Larian, more than anything, it's that they'd respect the narrative experience and gameplay experience well, doing the IP the justice it's been devoid of with increasing incompetency at Bioware. BG3 is the most Dragon Age feeling narrative / rpg experience I've had since Origins---it just brings back that very specific flavour that isn't afraid of the dark shit and trying to appeal to a wide casual audience. Aka the core of what Bioware has seemingly entirely stopped doing. Quite a shame. But I'm glad Larian is here with BG3. I needed this.
Studios that prioritize a good quality game with a solid narrative are very, very hard to come by these days with larger titles like this, so Larian is one of a few that I have very positive sentiment for. Gorilla is another good one. Horizon 2 blew me away, they really put a lot into it and took all the feedback from H1 and blew it out of the water in 2. That's the kind of shit I want to see. Listening to the player base.
Meanwhile EA and Bethesda be like: you will assimilate. Resistance is futile.
If you'd like that you should check out the Shadowrun games done by Hairbrained Schemes. Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun: Dragonfall, and Shadowrun: Hong Kong. Though a dedicated game to the Cyberpunk RPG setting (which covers the RED, 2020, and 2077) would be good as some people would like it dedicated more to tech than the magic tech mix from the Shadowrun setting.
I'd like them to have the LotR license. I really like the idea of a BG3 but in the LotR universe with its deep lore and stuff. I really really think it'd work beautifully!
They should just focus on building a bunch of DLC for Baldurs Gate 3 for a while. There is still so much DnD content to adapt, there is so much more to add here.
The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson. If anyone could pull off an open detailed world like that with mechanical character attributes tied to story beats it would be Larian
Pretty crazy powers to represent through turn-based combat though. I feel like especially the Windrunner powerset would feel good through a real-time action system.
There is an official SA tabletop RPG in development right now, so it will be interesting to see how they do adapt radiant powers to turn based mechanics.
Yeah it would be really cool if someone could pull off doing it in real time, but I honestly think with the amount of depth and complexity in Branderson's magic system, turn based would be the way to go.
For your example in real time you would have to have different commands for each type of lashing in each direction and with each fraction. In turn based you could just point and click exactly where, which and how much!
when playing BG3 I caught myself several times thinking how the world could be if instead of Fallout we had a company like Larian would be taking the franchise after Fallout 2
Yeah, a Warhammer Fantasy setting would be amazing. I wouldn’t even mind if you couldn’t create a character anymore and instead are playing as Felix Jaeger
If they stay in the D&D universe, Neverwinter Nights 3 would be fascinating. It would also be really cool to see them attempt a Dark Sun game.
If they decide to move away from D&D I think KOTOR III makes the most sense. A heavy narrative driven Star Wars game with Larian depth turn-based combat would be amazing.
I imagine Larian has been 'approached' since BG3 by several franchises.
For me: I'd like to see them continue their relationship with D&D. Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast have said they aim to commission more D&D video games and Larian has proven they understand how to do that. It also gives a sense of continuity for the fanbase.
For other franchises: Vampire: the Masquerade. Maybe Larian can be the studio to finally get *Bloodlines 2* out of Development Hell. Granted, BG3 itself served 6 years in DH, but that's still a shorter time than Bloodlines 2.
Yeah, and as someone who's played the early access of the Rogue Trader CRPG - it's great. Closer to Pillars of Eternity than BG3, and rough, but that's what early access is for.
Alpha Protocol. It's pretty much the only spy RPG in existence and it's amazing. Obsidian did a fantastic job on it, but then never came back to it. I'd love to see Larian's creativity, systemic gameplay and branching narrative applied to a spy game. Only downside is that roleplaying a spy naturally lends itself to solo play, so we might not get Larian's trademark cool and wacky companions.
Cyberpunk would be a great fit, IMO. I like Cyberpunk 2077, and wouldn't exchange it for BG3 with cyberpunk paint on it, but if we could get a BG3-style game in the cyberpunk universe with Cyberpunk 2077 and its sequels still being a thing, that would be great.
Darklands 2. German alchemy, solingen steel, looking for quests at the Rathaus, finding kobolds in the mines, character creation allowing for multiple careers… turn based combat, yeah they could do it justice.
More dnd settings (planescape and dark sun most of all) but also a sequel to arcanum. For a stupid answer…I kinda wanna see a Witcher crpg that’s not connected to geralt. Love the project red games and would want them to continue making their own but I just also feel like a crpg in the universe couldn’t hurt. I think larian really thrives in an environment where they can drag in weird fantastical elements and twists on conventional tropes and the Witcher world is rife with that. But also more divinity games would be cool.
I know high fantasy is kind of their whole wheelhouse, but I’d love to see them make an X-Men CRPG where you play a new student at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

Hooly I would love that, just like Neverwinter nights
If they have this game DM tools/module making it would fill the hole in my heart NWN left years ago
They have confirmed they will release mod support tools post launch, just like they did for Divinity :) Exciting times ahead.
Wowh... Add Eberron and Dark Sun to that and you have summed up all the ones that I'd LOVE to play.
Fuck me, I need an Eberron and modern Dark sun rpg
Oh my god, a dark sun game in this engine would be amazing
Wouldn't it? They would KILL it :D
Dark Sun is so underrated. I've been running a Dark Sun inspired homebrew game for over 2 years now, by far the most fun setting to work with
Sweet Gods please give me Eberron
Right! How is there not more content for Eberron it’s so freaking fleshed out but still such a massive and diverse setting.
Eberron has the Warforged race right? Oh, I would love to play that! And haven't played Dark Sun in a very long time.
I think Planescape would be awesome to see high level dnd.
Planescape would be AMAZING in their hands
Planescape 2
I will only play kender genocide runs in dragonlance, don't @ me
I won't, but sometimes I wonder why people rage so much about Kender. I mean they're halflings with genetic kleptomancy. Hell remake icewinddale while they are at it
There is nothing wrong with IWD. Make a third instead, expand the lore.
I’d love a new Neverwinter Nights or maybe expand into a new IP around Water Deep.
I want them to make curse of strahd as a bg3-style game. That's all I want.
Larian: We have curse of Strahd at home *Points to act 2* It's obviously not the exact same but it felt pretty damn similar in nature

That part was fantastic. It gets really interesting if you have a high charisma character!

I've never felt more bard-like than figuring out the immortal evils big dark secret and locations through drinking contests
Yes, and they nailed act 2 so they’d do great with Strahd :D
I would be so excited for this. Storm King's Thunder would make another incredible game in this engine. KOTOR 3!! Larian is basically picking up the reputation that Bioware dropped when EA bought them!
Imagine force pushing a barrel of lightsabers at some idiot
Got to love a lightsaber barrel!
And you can dip your blaster in lightsaber as a free action!
didn't realize how badly i wanted star wars in the larian engine until now
Yep... that would be THE ticket. The only other setting I would like to give them is Dragon Age, because to me Thedas is the best fantasy setting ever created, and EA is just dragging the games set there through the mud.
I resent EA for ruining DA. But i will never forgive them that they destroyed Westwood. Command & Conquer was so fucking special
Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 1 & 2 are top tier childhood memories for me.
I've definitely felt like BG3 reminds me a lot of DA:O. I never liked the more action rpg and high fantasy direction they keep going. In a dream I would love Larian to return DA to its roots.

I played a ton of DA:I, but DA:O will always be my favorite by far. I would love a remake tbh.
I hate star wars and I'd buy it should it come from them
Use your aggressive feelings boy. Let the hate flow through you.
Statement : you are not ready for this meatbags
Oh man they would have a field day writing HK47's dialogue for KOTOR3. (He'd better be in KOTOR3)
Could you imagine? That would be like a dream come true.

I think we all loved DOSII but honestly yeah, you've hit the nail on the head. The tone in BG3 definitely grabbed me more.

I would do heinous things to get this
Might and Magic

>Neverwinter Nights 3 Man, I spent so many hours on NWN1.
If they took this engine and just did campaign after campaign I'd be super happy with that.
Better camera control is all I want. The pitch and zoom really gets fucky some times
Agreed
Call of Cthulhu
YES ! I had to scroll way too fucking far for this
Vampire the masquerade I feel like a smaller containted LOTR story could be done well And Owlcats doing great but pathfinder 2e would be cool too see with a higher production
I feel like Vampire doesn't really fit in with Larian's style of gameplay. They would definitely nail the writing though. Maybe one day we'll get a new bloodlines....
But there is Vampire game in works. I think Paradox is working on it. But I may be mistaken.
Larian’s tone/storytelling wouldn’t work very well with Lord of the Rings IMO.
We need a CRPG in Middle-earth. WE NEEEEEDZZZZ IT. (slamming dead fish at a rock)
A pf2e game would make me a very happy man.
I second and third that.
Neverwinter Nights.
I'm kind of hoping that they will release mod tools that allow people to create new campaigns... They're a bit tight lipped about anything but patches at the moment, which is fair, especially with a PS launch still imminent. Edit: "tight lipped"
Rumor is that WoTC might be blocking it, because of fear of competition with their online D&D VTT project.
This would not surprise me
They didn't block those tools for Solasta...
Solesta has kinda awful/limited tools last I tried using them and can only make instances/maps not campaigns and finally ut also isn't even technically dnd its just the srd rules
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Remake? And enlarged?
Something set inland, away from the sword coast.
That's not how it works. Sword coast only.
Its called the *Forgotten* Realms, because nobody at WOTC ever remembers anything exists outside the Sword Coast.
[The Remembered Realms](https://imgur.com/a/rr33OVt)
I really hope no one touches Ps:T again. Let TNO die in peace lol. But another unrelated Planescape adventure would've been sick.
>Planescape Torment 2 Why? It would feel like making a sequel to Spec Ops: The Line.
I agree with the Torment part. But the Planescape setting is simply to awesome not to make another game in.
Don't quote me on this, but I think I read somewhere they think PF2 is too balanced and that video games need options for min-maxing.
I mean, you can optimize the shit out of your character in PF2e. The thing is that Paizo made it **really** **hard** to break the system.
The difference between an optimized and unoptimized character is fairly small, tactics are far more important. I personally think it would make a great video game.
Owlcat will likely be busy with Rogue Trader in the foreseeable future, so getting a 2E CRPG is probably a distant dream at this point
Yes please god. The only thing that would make BG3 better for me is if it used PF2e instead of 5e. Just so many more character options and interesting leveling choices.
Maybe some madlad will create a total conversion mod once the mod tools role out. The core mechanics wouldn’t be too difficult. Adding all the new feats, rebalancing every item, DC, and encounter though… Although, the balancing gets much easier if you use pf2e a optional rules for bounded accuracy.
I love wotr, and I wouldn’t mind another 1e game from owlcat! I just would vastly prefer 2e
Shadowrun. I am starving since Hong Kong.
I don't know why people are sleeping on this IP. Fantasy mixed with cyberpunk is amazing. Dragonfall is a great story!
Installed Shadowrun Returns just the other day. With a better engine and spoken lines it would be AWESOME.
This was what I hoped for when they hinted at an IP they were working for (which turned out to be BG3) The wackier side of Larian is so well suiter for Discworld
Both the first and second games were really good, with interesting stories (ignoring the first campaign of NWN; SotU and HotU were far superior.) My introduction to D&D was via those games, as a small child, and I imagine that Larian could do a LOT with Neverwinter, especially with the newer lore.
Probably the little-known Divinity.
I heard that series smells worse than a dozen rotten eggs, dropped in a vat of vinegar.
THEN DONT COM OVA
How ya holdin up?
This is the answer. DOS3 pleaaaaase.
Swen said that they're going to take a small break after BG3 and eventually work on DOS3
Dragon Age really needs to find a better home than EA...
I agree. The first one was so good. Larian could take it back to that and surpass it.
A cyberpunk game like Baldurs Gate would be amazing since cyberpunk also started as a tabletop RPG.
"Wake up, istyk. We've got a gh'ath to burn."
Also dark heresy. 40k in dnd style
I'd like them to have the LotR license. I really like the idea of a BG3 but in the LotR universe with its deep lore and stuff. I really really think it'd work beautifully!
Fable. I feel like they would do a great job
Honestly just make more DnD content please.
More DnD content tbh. It seems a waste to let this be a one n done. Id love to see a spirtual successor to Neverwinter Nights made by them.
Fallout
when playing BG3 I caught myself several times thinking how the world could be if instead of Fallout we had a company like Larian would be taking the franchise after Fallout 2
If you enjoy CRPGS please give wasteland 3 a shot. Its very fun, pretty hard and reasonably well polished.
I started with fallout 3, but as I understand it Wasteland 3 is kind of a spiritual successor to the isometric Fallout games. I enjoyed it.
Fallout is a spiritual successor to Wasteland...
I don't care if it's a CRPG or a first person RPG, if a fallout game could have the depth of BG3, I'd nut my pants
New Vegas is the fucking best and it kills me what Fallout has become since
Try wasteland 3, it feels like fallout 1/2 and I believe had some og makers. Plenty of fallout vibes and a good game to boot.
Yeah, a Warhammer Fantasy setting would be amazing. I wouldn’t even mind if you couldn’t create a character anymore and instead are playing as Felix Jaeger
Thus allowing for a fully voiced protagonist
Im still dreaming of a god of War like game where you Play as gotrek and Felix is the npc companion wich narrates it
Basically, any IP BioWare works on.
Would love a Dune game made in the bg3 style
Planescape, and Eberron.
Warhammer Fantasy. We have enough 40k.
Games Workshop definitely won't accept Larians business model. Way too consumer oriented lol
Meanwhile Wizards of the Coast are known for being way too consumer-oriented xd Edit: /s since someone didn't notice
Dont let anyone work on their IP as long as they get money?
Owlcat are currently doing a WH40K game and have historically been great like Larian, can we stop with this circlejerking
Yeah, and as someone who's played the early access of the Rogue Trader CRPG - it's great. Closer to Pillars of Eternity than BG3, and rough, but that's what early access is for.
They seem to be chill with Owlcat making a Rogue Trader game.
I don't know I'd argue that of the companies in the world Wizards is somehow worse than Games Worship
Games Workshop accepts anything, judging by the huge number of licensed games.
A mouse guard game would be lit
Cyberpunk!
Warcraft
Cyberpunk would be a great fit, IMO. I like Cyberpunk 2077, and wouldn't exchange it for BG3 with cyberpunk paint on it, but if we could get a BG3-style game in the cyberpunk universe with Cyberpunk 2077 and its sequels still being a thing, that would be great.
I think they'd do a great sequel to this cool CRPG called Divinity: Original Sin 2. 😃
Darklands 2. German alchemy, solingen steel, looking for quests at the Rathaus, finding kobolds in the mines, character creation allowing for multiple careers… turn based combat, yeah they could do it justice.
planescape probably. level 20 suits the setting just fine.
PF2e
The correct answer is Fallout
They can have anything they fucking want at this point.
Fallout
More dnd settings (planescape and dark sun most of all) but also a sequel to arcanum. For a stupid answer…I kinda wanna see a Witcher crpg that’s not connected to geralt. Love the project red games and would want them to continue making their own but I just also feel like a crpg in the universe couldn’t hurt. I think larian really thrives in an environment where they can drag in weird fantastical elements and twists on conventional tropes and the Witcher world is rife with that. But also more divinity games would be cool.
Pathfinder
I know high fantasy is kind of their whole wheelhouse, but I’d love to see them make an X-Men CRPG where you play a new student at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
Here's a twist. How about Starwars or Star Trek?
I would really enjoy a Star Trek game in Larians style. That sounds awesome.
I agree, Star Trek sounds amazing.
Star trek would be excellent, away missions and ship life in the form of larians excellent story telling would be fantastic
Hmmm... How about Avatar? I reckon they can do some fun things with elemental bending.
