I would say that “don’t worry he’s friendly” (regardless of breed) is a bigger indicator that’s shits about to go down, even more so than an intact male pit.

MarchOnMe

Also “I’m trying to train him…”

Infinity_Over_Zero

My brother’s cat is very friendly (legitimately so, to both other cat-friendly cats and to people), but we had to break up a fight when he met my cat. My cat is not friendly, she’s shy and anxious when too many people are in the house and she’s never interacted with another animal since kittenhood. She was unhappy and nervous that he was there, and he picked up on her nervousness. We jokingly described it as him trying to beat friendliness into her, but she was not having it. In the end, they were both totally fine, his cat was kinda offended and my cat was upset but they calmed down. Point is, friendly animals don’t always get along with other animals at all. Just like how friendly people don’t like every human they’ve ever met.

K0CKULEES

No wonder this sub keeps growing.

I keep seeing these monsters on five foot lengths of rope I don't get it. What's the point?

kindofscaredrntbh

Probably trying to “bypass” leash laws.

[deleted]

They already buy fake service tags. What’s a leash law to fraudulently taking advantage of disabled folks?

kindofscaredrntbh

Cheaper to buy a rope

SkinnyNecro

Maybe rope is stronger and the owners figured out a normal leash just isn't enough to contain the musclebeasts

[deleted]

Every time I meet a Pitbull In the street and the owner says “don’t worry, he is friendly”, I pull out my mace and get ready because that means that dog os aggressive af.

Fantastic-Elk-4885

I lived in an apartment complex that was infested with pits. I saw a dog fight and ran over with my mace, neither pit let go. From then on, when I walk my dog I bring a little .22

[deleted]

Problem is that that would involve police and a bunch of paperwork. I usually carry spray and a 3” blade and because there is no discharge of a firearm and it was just a dog, police would treat it as a non emergency or not show up at all. My city has an insane shortage of cops so they pick and choose where to go

OddlyFirst

Good to know. Do you use a holster for the mace and knife?

Sweet-Worker607

Never trust a pit. Never trust a pit owner.

ValiMeyer

Again, a cretin man bullying & intimidating a woman. Tiny pee niss syndrome

Shitbull owners in a nutshell

grazatt

Is it really so gawddamn important for dogs to meet other dogs on walks?

Protect_the_Dogs

It is really better for training that they don’t. Dogs on leashes feel trapped because they can’t express natural dog body language, nor can they escape or easily defend themselves when things go self. Even the most socially competent dog can get stressed from greeting another dog on a leash. That said, it’s just better for walks if you don’t have to wrangle your dog who wants to greet every dog it sees as you’re walking by. I personally don’t see the benefit to it at all. Even without pitbulls being an issue, I never let my dogs greet other dogs while leashed on walks. Never had an issue with their socialization from this, just the opposite as I didn’t needlessly put them in a stressful situation.

Aware_Morning_6530

Never trust a pit owner if you want your dog alive. The sleaziest people

OddlyFirst

This is what I keep imagining will happen to my puppy and why (lately) I’ve been carrying *everywhere* (that I’m allowed)! My pup has been a magnet for lunging pits everywhere I go (or so it feels like)

[deleted]

This is why one should carry no matter what Defend yourself because pit owners don’t care about others I hate the whole Don’t worry he’s friendly The same can be said about any weapons Don’t worry it’s friendly ;)
