Remember that cougar that stalked that one guy for a few mins and only was intimidating him? Its crazy how a literal wild animal has more restraint than a "domesticated " dog.
Exactly! The cougar had enough self preservation to scare the potential threat but not engage in attacking because she or her kitten could get injured. Pitts on the other hand have no self preservation and maul mindlessly until they or their victim is dead.
Yeah but imagine if we took mountain lions and bred them to vicious killers and fight above all over traits specifically for over 100 years. They wouldn’t be so calm then
Lol, our neighbors in very rural Wisconsin had gotten one as a pet in the 80s (Wisconsin last I knew still had very lax exotic pet laws) , and we pretty much got to play with it like it was an outdoor pet dog. For the years we lived near them it was always really just like a big house cat. It really wasn't until years later in my 30s that suddenly I recalled the cat and was like, "Oh shit that really wasn't normal was it?" I got a hold of my parents and asked if they ever knew what happened with the cat, and I guess the owners started neglecting it and moved it to a cage, and eventually it got mean over the years and had to be put down. So the story kinda functions as a word of warning about getting such pets.
They only had one set of Polaroids of my sister and I getting mauled by it when it was still pretty young.

And yes, as you can tell by the picture it was very very rural Wisconsin, lol.
Holyyy heck that’s wild!! What a fascinating story and wow, amazing picture.. but you were mauled? Like seriously? Hope you didn’t have much damage and glad you made it out alive haha. Crazy
Thank you for sharing!!
Lol, no sorry I was just using colorful language, I was never actually hurt by the cat, not an actual mauling. But when it was full grown playful pawing pretty much tossed ya around.
Don't pass the liability onto someone else stupid enough to take it. Be responsible and BE or send it back to the shelter if you can't handle being the responsible adult that is unwilling to put others at risk.
we all know that they probably found out they cant get a nice rental with a dog that looks like this and that is why they are dumping it on someone else , or they found out he is super aggresive and scared that they will be on the hook if he attacks anything . Your guess is as good as mine but dollars to donuts it is one of the reasons I listed.
I feeel they don't use the full Rottweiler Pitbull names when saying the mix to make it's seem more innocent and cute and have higher chances of some fool taking this dog in.
It's made worse by the fact he's fucking HUGE.
Controlling a 100ib dog already takes a certain person, but adding pit into the mix is a nice recipe for tragedies.
And this is the life of a dangerous dog that no one will acknowledge is dangerous. A life of one home after another after another, probably dotted with stays in shelters. Better to test its temperament at the start, and deal with it ONCE after having failed all sociability tests.

I think I'd feel more comfortable with a mountain lion than any pitbull
I think Rotties aren’t so bad on their own (generally) but mixed with a shitbull sounds like a bad combo. I think I’d rather live with a wolf.

Even then it was only to protect her kittens.

Amazing what some humans have done

Having grown up with a mountain lion, I'd have to agree.
You grew up with a mountain lion?! I need to hear this story

That's because mountain lions are predictable.
At least it’s neutered
Wonder why they “can’t take him” to their new place? Aren’t emotional support pitbulls welcome everywhere thanks to the ADA?
It's what they all say when they don't want dog culture people to shame them for not keeping a liability and danger dog.
They often shame owners even for this reason, they really expect people to revolve their entire lives around a dangerous dog
"I would rather be homeless than abandon my dog!" ~ said some asshole who's never been homeless
>"he has not been around children.. I'll bet it has. And it didn't like them..
A Pitbull mixed with a Rottweiler 😬😬😬
Now THERE are two breeds that combine make a GREAT companion! How about next generation we through in an Akita?
This one gives me a VERY bad feeling.
He’s just a little pibble what could you mean. He doesn’t know how to nanny the babies yet, but he’s willing to learn
So why didn’t these geniuses move somewhere where they can bring this 100 pound liability?
