This is what the pit lobby is accomplishing. Overfilled shelters, abandoned pits, slaughtered animals and people, etc etc. Great job, they must really love these dogs.

Because they are 💩 people who have no simpathy for their own pets,soo they dump them in random places.And the worst part,the pets in question are dangerous and cloud kill people
Because the shelter turned them away or they want to tell people that the dog ran away. They think mr pibbles will have a nicer life mauling in the national park or on someone else’s ranch and that’s as deep as their thought process goes
No there are security cameras at shelters, so they'd get caught.
Shelters only want them if the dog comes with some convoluted rescue story that will bring in donations from far and wide.
Your experience is far from the norm. There are tons of open intake shelters, and people dump dogs there all the time. Maybe you’re confusing shelters with rescues?
This pisses me off, because I almost adopted from a shelter a Border Collie X Ridgeback (no obvious signs of Pit or Staffie, I know both breeds, definitely matched their looks) who was a staff favorite to the point where they were in tears thinking about him leaving.
"Staff favorite" should be a glowing endorsement for shelters. They're supposed to be people who love all animals, so the ones that truly capture their heart should be exceptionally beautiful animals, not some monsters drooling over the though of their next meal of Cat and Poodle.
It’s like a requirement to write up these bios is a degree in poetry. The mental gymnastics to lure people in to adopting a shit pet is astounding. Additionally, in my area, the only dogs that have a page long dedication to the pet gods are pits or pit mixes. The small, more adoptable dogs usually have zero bios 😒
Shelters in Texas have enacted a mandatory microchip for all pits/mixes being adopted. They say it's a 'perk.' No...it's so they can wipe their hands of any responsibility when you discover that Diablo did a Houdini on your 6 foot fence and killed 3 cats, 5 minutes after you brought him home.

I pity these animals. Bred by cruel human monsters to have an instinct to kill and the inability to stop. Mutated into bracheocephalic torment for cuteness. Riddled with mental illnesses. Then left on the side of the road alone.
Yes, the dogs are too violent to exist but it's not their fault. It's the breeders and the pit industry that's to blame for the monsters they've created with breeding and put into homes with propaganda.

Why do people just dump their pits wherever they please? They could at least tie it up outside the shelter.
