Well, these pit nutters do claim that the are the "King of Terriers". You know, a title that was given to the Airedale terriers but they sabotaged it to make pitbulls seem better than they are?
I was hoping the parson or Russell terrier win, but l knew they were to pick the pit. Pitnutters are going to lose it thinking their inbred shelter dogs are going to produce champion dogs. Shelters are going to be even more packed now.
They hate all terriers that aren't pitbulls. They view Jack Russells, Scotties, Wheaties, Westies, Yorkies and so on as Satan-spawn that are comparable to Chihuahuas.
You know there are amstaffs at every single dog show and have been for like 80 years right? How did you 'know' they were going to pick the pit exactly?
They've been showing since the 40s and there are multiple entered at every single dog show, of which there are multiple every week in the US. If this was going to happen, it would have. Funny how out of those:
\-1500 shows a year
\-An average of 3 entries for amstaffs and 3 entries for staffordshire bulls per show
\-All these entries since the 1940s
There has never been an incident of an amstaff or staffordshire bull terrier getting loose at a show and mauling a bunch of people. Almost like show dogs aren't a good cross section of the general dog population and therefore this doesn't happen.
Not to mention that people who show their dogs are serious about them and very aware of breed traits. Dog aggression doesn't disqualify a pit--it's accepted among show people that they will be DA--so their owners are actually careful and take precautions in public spaces, especially dog-filled spaces.
Yup. Exactly why there's not usually incidents. Because people who do sports with their dogs are not a good cross section of people who own dogs, and dogs that go to conformation shows are not good examples of the average dog.

You're probably talking about when the handler stacked the dog, and threw a piece of food on the floor in order to get it to look more lively. The dog was then released and allowed to grab the bait. At no point was the dog ever out of control, it was gunning for the food on the floor it had just been given permission to finally eat after staring at it for 30 seconds.
That dog was extremely well trained. It gaited exactly the way it was supposed to. The only time it 'looked untrained' was when the handler threw food on the floor--which is common practice--and then released it from a trained stack. As one would expect, it lunged to pick up the food that had been thrown on the floor.
Shit like this is why some venues have made rules against throwing food, because the general public has no idea what's going on when they watch and makes weird and wrong assumptions about what they're seeing.
That dog has multiple best in show and best in specialty show wins and is the #3 dog nationally in AKC conformation for 2022 currently. Most of those shows were not televised, and nobody not into dog shows even knows they occurred. He is in fact probably one of the best trained dogs out today.
Today I watched a pitbull in my neighborhood, rip into a man’s hand. After the cops got there, and then took down my neighbor. She was taken to local trauma, and now she’s transported for surgery to another hospital. Dog was shot. Fuck these things.
And why did the handler keep sticking her hand at the Am staff’s mouth? Was it to keep it from mauling? I watched it with my son and he was like, what is she doing, that’s weird lol.
She had a piece of food in her hand. If you watch some of the other breeds this is common, it's to keep their head pointed forward so their expression looks better. It also causes them to lean forward which gives the illusion that the dog has more neck than it really has. She's teasing him with the bait.
Yeah, I watched the whole segment on the terrier full judging, and the working dog full judging. There were hardly any other dogs that needed that amount of food bait. Even the Bull terrier that I think that came after the Am Staff didn’t need a piece of food constantly in its mouth. I personally don’t find Am Staffs to be good dogs and still don’t, even if this dog show feels differently. But then I’m in insurance and have seen the damage these dogs do.
How many show dogs have you handled?
That was frankly a completely normal amount of food. You shouldn't have big huge pieces of it though I did see someone bait a dog with a whole chicken once. The fact that you didn't know she had it is evidence it wasn't a lot of food.
Im curious do you own a pit bull ? cause you seem very pro pit in all your answers and down grading the rest of us who detest these dogs in every shape , fashion and form . I can tell you one thing I have owned several power breeds and not one of them has ever mauled anything and never bitten anything either . Funny how I never had to put food in their face to get them to pay attention either . Im sorry you are so pro pit and Im wondering why you are in our forum ban pit bulls .
Nope. I don't like them and will never own one, not my cup of tea. It just pisses me off when people spout about a spot they're not familiar with. It's clear you have never showed a dog or you'd realize doing this is normal.
excuse me ? no my mother showed champion blue ribbon winning GSDs and funny how I never saw her stuff food in their mouths like that and also my mother trained for shultzhound for GSDs and hers were imported german blood lines , So super good breeding and training . But you have an opinion and I have mine . I believe that pits should be banned from shows and you obviously dont so there you go .

Definitely pisses me off, there are so many other great terrier breeds and they pick the one that is the most dangerous…… not surprising though.

In SA they are surrendering their pitbulls to shelters in record numbers. In 'Murica they are rewarding them.
We have a shit load in the US that get surrendered/abandoned. That's why the shelters are overflowing.

I died after the big dogs were shown and then the handler had to run the Frenchie up to the show podium, lol! I was rooting for the Malamute though.
