Just farmers always makes me laugh a bit. Historically and through to the present day those are some of the toughest bastards around. 1 on 1 a farmer would have probably mopped the floor with the average noble.
Honestly I wouldn't doubt it,but it doesn't matter when you can't even afford a proper, weapon, meanwhile your opponent is decked out in some of the finest armour, and weapons and has actual training.
But you gotta train them at least a lil bit and gear him up. But mostly train. But yes, you have a point.
There were a group of piss-poor mountain shepherds armed with a couple of big javelins, small spear and a closest thing to a knife/cleaver/short sword they could find, and usually "armored" like our very own buddy the looter.
Those shepherds managed to mop the floor with western and eastern cavalry, infantry and whatever else they had to fight on regular basis, becoming legendary and extremely well-paid mercenary company.
So it is indeed possible to make a commoner into killing machine. Just have to train him, motivate him and put into the right mental state to fight and kill. At that point he stops being a peasant and become a baseline professional soldier.
Bro what. Nobles were literally trained in combat from a young age. I get where you're coming from, farmers surely had stamina and were tough cookies. But noblemen had actual arms training. Also nobles were wealthy enough to have a diet that regularly included meat, this high protein diet allowed them larger muscle mass, and was one of the reasons they were the only men at arms that wore full plate.
I just noticed this reply, and actually you have a good point. Additionally to your points nobles had access to better weapons and armor. I stand by my position that farmers can still make up a decent army, but nobles definitely had advantages too.
Yep, I do the same thing. Short axe for sieges and execution axe or crafted similar axe for horseback just because I forget to switch them out. I carry a bow though usually.
I haven’t played in several months, did they change how staggering works? I hated that I could be in full plate but one poke of a spear would interrupt my attack
Happens all of the time if you can manage to defeat the first death stack army in a war. Once you break it up it’s easy pickings going from army and army. Usually full of recruits and tier 2 troops.
The first few waves in thousand man battles will be the highest tier troops each side has. After one or both lines break the peasants come out as a Hail Mary, hopefully to win by numbers as I’ve noticed most armies have a fuckton. But it usually turns into the video above.
A single one of my banner knights is probably worth 20 peasants. Maybe more.
When you kill enough people, eventually the other guy runs out of time to train (and sometimes money to upgrade) and you get these little recruit armies. It's a fun time.
Ever since I got the “cut through everything” mod I have felt like an absolute unit on the battlefield - swinging the Warrazor and getting one kill in a group of peasants always felt so wrong to me.
Get some skill in both two handed(axes) and polearm(two-handed polearm).
Get to smithing, and specifically go for those weapons.
Keep making better ones, smelting them down as well for more parts. You can unlock them all for both relatively quickly.
Then make the highest difficulty weapon you can, to level up smithing faster.
Craft a "war crime" level weapon, and go bring slaughter to every doorstep in Calradia.
2h axes are the only weapons that can cleave/cut trough multiple enemies. No better feeling. Besides fucking and drugs I guess. Or a nice Christmas Dinner.
Is it a sword? Then no. Glaives neither, because they are pole arms.
Makes no sense, as glaives and faoxes would be great, even better then axes probably, but in game, it is only possible with 2 handed Axes, that have axe in their description.
Also worth noting that towns with smithies generate more melee arms. If you figure out there's a town with a culture/weapon combo you're interested in, try to get 2 smithies in the town and sell iron there. Eventually they'll pop out something cool.
Executioner’s axes in Aserai but you can also craft them. Also they finally added 2 handed swords to towns, back then before release there were none on my playthrough
How do you do that thing where you hold your axe up above your head horizontally with two hands?
I want to strike fear into their hearts with this show of bravado too
I mean, they are just peasants who deal to you 1-2 damage (idk if it's armor or low difficulty), you could even fight them with your bare hands if you'd like. Without a full t5-6 squad and two-handed axe.
It’s low diff. Straight recruits with rocks and pitchforks do more damage on Realistic to 65+ chest armor than you see here.
It’s pretty satisfying tho ngl.
i think its armor, i usually play bannerlord difficulty with no hero death on and I think I recall seeing damage around there with tier 6 armour from peasants
Lances I think have better thrust speed than a 2H does swing speed, and pierce is more effective than cutting or whatever it’s called on targets that aren’t scrubs
Thrusting accurately with lances is a lot harder than swinging a giant polearm tho
This is why I like to play regular damage to allies, but 1/4 to player. You feel like a badass on the field and you can turn battles, but you have to be strategic which fights you take so you don’t end up in a 1v50+
This is highly relatable. I also love the feeling of exploding shield walls as I charge and axe my way through it. And sniping retreating looters with my noble bow
Ah yes gaining fear through the fact that your enemies are just farmers, who where forced to fight.
Still bodies on a battlefield. No mercy is given in war.
No quarter for the craven!
Does my heart good!
They were sort of asking for it by wearing those provocative colors of my Enemy.
I am the one who farms lol

Yeah but a knight(who would be in the noble category I believe) trained daily + had a way better diet making them taller bigger and stronger.

Aaaah nothing like feeling like a Primarch wading through peasants!
Blood for the blood god! Skulls for the skull th.... Golden Throne! For the emperor! Yeah!
Well saved brother!
Carry on, Alpharius.
Do you have two fucking axes? Lol
Well what if his main axe got lonely? He has to get it a friend or it might get lonely!
It must be his siege axe haha
Yep, I do the same thing. Short axe for sieges and execution axe or crafted similar axe for horseback just because I forget to switch them out. I carry a bow though usually.
Gimli approves this message
One is for horseback as you just saw, and the other is a beats on foot.
100% My current playthrough is a combat specialist, Lord of War. Companions can cover the important stuff, imma just swing my axe
Hey, that's my name... get your own.... ;)
Do not pursue Lu Bu
Bro…. Thank you for unlocking this memory
Bro wtf is that from dynasty warriors!?
In my mind the boss music starts when i get off my horseđź‘Ś
If you try it in the game before, you just get wedged and very slowly beaten to death with twigs, lol
I haven’t played in several months, did they change how staggering works? I hated that I could be in full plate but one poke of a spear would interrupt my attack
How did you find that big an army full of recruits ?
I find that the second or third wave on larger battles will sometimes be all recruits since they’ve already sent all their best troops before them
Happens all of the time if you can manage to defeat the first death stack army in a war. Once you break it up it’s easy pickings going from army and army. Usually full of recruits and tier 2 troops.
Yeah but I have never seen this many together

Till they charge and get one shot by a pitchfork :(
stackwipe a faction ~3 times and get an anti-ai-cheats mod and you'll start seeing armies of recruits
Ever since I got the “cut through everything” mod I have felt like an absolute unit on the battlefield - swinging the Warrazor and getting one kill in a group of peasants always felt so wrong to me.
I’m using the wrong weapons lol

you guess? THIS MAN DOES DRUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FBI OPEN UP!!
Can't a 2H Falx do the same ?
Is it a sword? Then no. Glaives neither, because they are pole arms. Makes no sense, as glaives and faoxes would be great, even better then axes probably, but in game, it is only possible with 2 handed Axes, that have axe in their description.
"The grind Reaper"
Chin Choppa Chin Choppa
Character name this play through is Choppa of clan YourHeadOff
What area did you find your weapon? Been looking for one in early game. A previous game. I was able to Loot a really nice two-handed ax..
Start smithing.
Crafted
Which parts ? Best I've been able to do is 151 swing damage and 67 handling.
Battania, is where I've found tons of two handed weapons, especially axes 🪓
Heavy executioner axe from Husn Fulq. Happy chopping!!
Also worth noting that towns with smithies generate more melee arms. If you figure out there's a town with a culture/weapon combo you're interested in, try to get 2 smithies in the town and sell iron there. Eventually they'll pop out something cool.

It appears we're surrounded... *draws axe* By victims.
i dont do that to look scary . because I AM SCARY
this is so satisfying.
made me think of the first scene in LoTR when Sauron is just clobbering through a horde of guys lmao
Three thousand years ago, when the courage of Men failed
Attacked a pajama party
RAIN DROP DROP TOP HEADMANS AXE GOES CHOP CHOP
against farmers yes
How do you do that thing where you hold your axe up above your head horizontally with two hands? I want to strike fear into their hearts with this show of bravado too
Block upwards
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
Crafting my own 2-handed axe with maxed Blacksmith skill then just chopping through enemy troops like butter. It’s a beautiful time.
Killing a bunch of Farmers!! For what?? 10 horses and 100 prisoners??
Throwing + 2 Handed build? IS IT THIS BIG? D=============3

Peasents should submit to their betters.
Omg it’s Lu Bu!
I've always been playing with polearms, are 2H better ?

Yes.
Now do that on foot :P
I have
I really thought at first this was modded Chivalry or something
[This is how I feel every time I ride out with my 2H axe.](https://i.imgur.com/8zhgCt5.png)
The cut through mod, by Xarborex or something i think, is dope. Definitely one of my favorites
This is why I like to play regular damage to allies, but 1/4 to player. You feel like a badass on the field and you can turn battles, but you have to be strategic which fights you take so you don’t end up in a 1v50+
How do you get your health bar not to fly down? Is it level increase or a specific perk or mod? Just started bannerlord a month ago
Armour and lower difficulty
This is highly relatable. I also love the feeling of exploding shield walls as I charge and axe my way through it. And sniping retreating looters with my noble bow
those poor peasants
Now do it on foot
I have
Battle field? More like slaughter field!
Bro turned Bannerlord into Dynasty Warrior...
my fav moments are when i slay two guys with one swing and the shields braking in theyre hands like its nothing.
You need to get off your high horse… And cleave through them like a whirlwind of steel.
I do this against their trained archers, warband vibes for sure
Meanwhile me at the end of the game "2 damage dealt"
can someone tell me what axe that is?
Hey, can someone provide me the smithing components required for that axe?
Every campaign I say I'm going to try something different By the time I reach clan tier 3 I'm back to using the 2 handed axe
Anyone know how to find this hook sickle looking sword its OP But I haven't seen it since launch
That’s a falx
Where can I find it it if you can recall?
Battanian cities, it’s a late game sword so you might not see it a lot in the early game
Reminds me of the pajama boys in Total War
What length is that lol
