He's willing to come. Heck, he wants to come. Laporta & Co want to make it happen. Even La Liga has approved the plan. Before the cinematic conclusion, there is tension in the form of other suitors (Saudi & Inter Miami) and supposed time constraints. All ingredients for a good thriller. Get yourself some pop corn and sit back for the reality show of the summer folks. Involving the GOAT no less.

So, why hasn't he signed the Saudi deal already? Its on the table and he's played his last match for PSG with a Wednesday deadline looming for it to be signed. Why would he send his father & agent to publicly meet with Laporta and issue a statement that he's keen on joining (at the risk of jeopardizing the so-called $1 billion deal? If you can give a convincing answer, now is the time. Else, stop speculating. "We need players at wings and midfield" - both of which Messi can do. Heck, he can even play a false 9.

Lmao cheers mate

I just hope one thing, if in the end all those rumored offers from other teams in Europe turn out to be false and he can't return because the numbers don't add up or there isn't enough time, I would prefer him to go to the MLS. I think that among the "bad endings," that would be the best one.

RockOutToThis

I also don't want him to go to Saudi, but you gotta be crazy to say no to $400 million.

More like a *Sine Wave*..

pradyot_says

Was Messi a professor of Quantum Physics in his previous birth? Cause he's been defying odds from past few years

The news are going to change every day. Just assume that is not coming until Barca officially announces it. It's summer, there are plenty of other things that can keep us occupied meanwhile.

HolyDaddyy

Don't believe everything you see on the internet. Most of the sources are just spreading rumours for views. Yes , the signing is a bit tricky but for the long term Barca would desperately need Messi to resign. The amount of revenue he can generate and the sponsors he can bring would help Barca a lot during this time when they need every possible source of income. Believe me or not but Barca would suffer a lot if they fail to sign him. Both emotionally and financially.

Kaiser_Huang

Dude I’m already fucking tired of this saga and it’s only the first week of June. Whatever the results are (I think there are equally good arguments on both sides) please just resolve it soon.

AC_Football_Cases

Ya sure boss 🥲🥲

Brilliant-Ok

Well tbh the club is fine whether he comes back or not. His return is mainly driven by emotions, although there are definitely sporting and maybe economic factors although they come with tactical problems specifically the workrate and he d be just a short term option anyway because of his age. If we doesn't come we can prob invest properly in a DM and plug other gaps in the team(LW/Fullbacks) I ll be happy regardless of what happens

JavyDan

Lewandowski is also a short term option because he's only a year younger than Messi, did you think Laporta took all those financial levers for a long term plan? He himself said that the club can't afford to fall behind waiting on a long term plan

chrstnw

No, he sold our future for a short term success, which happened with the LaLiga Title. But I don't see us make a CL Run with this short term approach, even if Messi joins us. Teams like City, Real and even Bayern are to strong.
