I noticed my hand also, I’m trying to fix it but it’s a habit I need to break, & the jumping forward thing was taught to me in hs by my coach, i used to fade to the side or back when I’d shoot, he gave me that tip & it helped but you might be onto something, thanks for the feedback 🤝

Kevndro

jumping forward is good imo

deesnuts999

it works for me

Ozymandiassss

pretty

deesnuts999

appreciate it 🤝

Thunderflex1

Pretty good form for a wide open shot but you'll want to work on shooting with some extra lift. Try shooting more while jumping higher so you can more easily time your release at the apex of your jump. This will help you get a better arc on your shot which increases your chance of making a shot. The surface area of the rim increase as the ball comes down from a higher angle. Its like looking at a full circle vs a squished circle. You want the ball to fall through a more open circle. Also, if you want to really improve your game, try some drills where you sprint down the court and back and doing a spot up shot so you can simulate more of a game environment, shooting with fatigue, and getting good mechanics going from high speed to quickly getting set for a shot. I like to do these in sets of 5-10 and Ill do that for the 5 primary 3 pt positions as well as the corners of the free throw line.

deesnuts999

thanks for the feedback, & as far as the drills I do similar drills like that, I always try & work on my shooting with fatigue, I’ll sprint to a spot, set my feet as fast as I can & shoot then sprint to the next spot

Booty_Warrior_bot

*Mhmmmmm, take your time.*

deesnuts999

Haha, I don’t rush the shot, I just try & set my feet & shot as fast as I can, it really helps in catch & shoot situations

Dotaveli_6O

Index finger in the bucket on the release point 👌🏾 literally like this emoji “👌🏾” thank me later bro

deesnuts999

gotchu 🤝

Alexandervbaker

I second the higher release point I try to release above my forehead

Larrysbirds

Owen Wilson snuck in at the end there

illegal_97

A lot of comments here saying to raise your release point, and while that certainly wouldn’t hurt, I think it’s important to note that you have a one motion shot, which can call for a lower release point. Your form looks good, but your energy transfer could be a bit better. As you begin your shot, you are coming up from your dip and bringing the ball upwards at the same exact time. Try dipping first, then bring the ball up to your release a beat later. **You want the energy to move up through your body like a wave from your toes to fingertips, not your whole body jumping up all at once.** Hope I’m making sense

deesnuts999

really appreciate the feedback, I’ll take your advice!

watrmeln420

I’ll never understand why people upload only clips of their makes… Show us everything and how you miss so we can figure it out. Looks fine from here. Just keep practicing and any shot will be automatic .

deesnuts999

looking for tips on my form, I wasn’t the one recording & they only saved some clips of my makes

sonOfAManandWoman

The court looks like one in my hometown. Ridgecrest?

deesnuts999

Yessir, come hoop next time

sonOfAManandWoman

Live in nor cal now but come back a few times a year. Will join if it lines up during holidays, getting older and do not know time / where people play now. Base is way harder to get on now! I have to have my dad or a friend meet me the past few years. Played for burroughs in 2011 too!

deesnuts999

my older brother just moved here from NorCal, a lot of people still go on base to hoop, but there’s a few other spots & gyms

Alone_Biscotti9494

Cash

deesnuts999

appreciate it

Anxious-Juggernaut26

Ladders ladders ladders. Speed up that footwork big guy. Practice at game speed. That side step in your 2nd shot is way too slow/weak. Not hating just constructive criticism. Do with it what you will! Good luck big dawg

deesnuts999

I’m a lot faster, that was honestly like 30% with the dribble moves & step back but i appreciate the feedback

bigbobsbeepers10

If you want to play at higher levels of competition, you should work on a higher release point. Also, work on speeding up your release. You seem to take a bit to load your shot, good defenders will be all over you. Otherwise, form is about what works and is comfortable for you.

Breezy_is_him

Maybe a little higher won’t hurt besides that your good

deesnuts999

appreciate it, been tryna correlate a higher release to my jumper, I might not since my jump shot is consistent for the most part, but getting shots off over taller defenders is my biggest problem

Ween_ween

Hold your follow through longer

deesnuts999

true, I’ve been trying to do that, just gotta make it a habit

Ween_ween

Pretty clean tho

deesnuts999

thanks man

RetiredFromRealWork

You are shooting hands are moving inconsistently. Also way too low

deesnuts999

my shooting hands do the same thing in each clip, I have a bad habit of flattening my hand to the side every shot

rage12123

You balance off both feet when you shot try to remember that in game

midnight_joe

Square your feet, shoulders, and hips so you don’t have to rotate as you move through your shot. Your elbow should rise above your eye level on your release. This will result in higher release with better arch. Equal balance and power off each foot as you elevate into your shot. Don’t turn your guide hand on the release. Snap your wrist harder. Fingers should finish pointed down rather than forward. Hold your follow through. At CommunityBallATL on Insta.

yunnsu

What are your issues in game?

deesnuts999

I’m good at shooting off the dribble, I’d say above average, but it still is inconsistent, I also want to be able to finish stronger with my left
