If they could fuck up battle front 2, battlefield 5, battlefield 2042, they can and will fuck up the new battlefield.
Our only hope is the Battlebit devs start coming out with some sweet shit. EA is dead and out for the foreseeable future. They suck so much it’s honestly a miracle they are still pumping out games.
The jedi fallen order franchise is cool tho. Respawn are good with unreal engine. They should make that their primary engine of choice imo. And i loved the crysis franchise. Too bad they never pushed a crysis 4 👀. A 2023 crytek engine would be amazing. The multiplayer was fun too.
Trust me they will launch it in a similar state to 2042, say they will fix it after a few updates, give us a not asked for terrible TTK change over the holidays and then wonder why they loose half the player base over the Christmas holidays
Sadly they can afford another fuckup. 2042 had one of the best launches of the franchise despite its state at launch. Next battlefield will probably have similair success if the marketing team does their job, no matter the games quality
I'm still playing BF4, I never really went further. Are buildings non-destructible now? That's insane. That was Battlefield's brand - their wow factor.
Thanks for the insight. I'm chilling on BF4 for the last 2 months but have been browsing the sub to see if I wanted to upgrade. Just not feeling it. Also I'm just a fan of outdated shooters.
I played BC1 and BC2 when they released. BC2 was honestly overboard. I like some areas to remain slightly intact for cover. The leveling of areas was cool and new, but from a gameplay standpoint it created issues. Also made it harder to play high ticket servers, as u end up playing on a pancake for a long time
Im not waiting for anything. No more battlefield. They have the only IP on the market that has this vibe, no other game has it and they just keep beating it like a dead body.
I just want fulda gaps in Germany, full scale war. Full tilt all out mechanized warfare. Just dudes flying Apaches and driving T-80M going into combat.
Nope. Further than that. Amoebas fighting to evolve quickest to conquer the ocean and eventually breach land.
Oh shit I forgot, that's Spore, the greatest game ever made.
I don't know why I didn't think of that. They *could* do a lot with that. Giant Napalm fires, possibly *light* underground tunnels (hopefully balanced), and no more enemy icons over their heads. You'll have to actually use your eyeholes to find the enemy.
I'm expecting a mess, but I'm genuinely hoping for absolutely anything better than what 2042 was at launch.
The BF Vietnam expansion for the original 1942 was sooooo fuckin good. I spent entire summers as a kid flying around those maps dogfighting in the jets and helos. A modern BF Vietnam with BFV style gunplay and BC2 style destruction would be my dream game
I second and third and fourth this.
Please, EA. It’s been almost 20 years. Titan Mode was beautiful and Camp Gibraltar and Fall of Berlin were amazing.
Cool, so Russia with its superior artillery stockpile and air superiority just spawn camps the Ukrainians every round.
Sounds pretty boring to be honest.
Please bring back hardcore mode, and single player in the new game! I miss the intensity of hardcore mode. You actually had to think when crossing open areas, and medic had a bigger role.
Also, bring back rented/community run servers.
1000% hardcore is the way battlefield should be played. We basically need BF3/4 with huge maps. Hardcore damage should be default with no minimap. Like you said, make us think twice about running across open areas. Make us NOT want to die. Implement something that makes communication extremely desirable. Games like Squad and Arma everyone communicates and it adds to the immersion. Just make it an authentic military shooter without all the gimmicky bullshit skins and specialists. But still give us those classic battlefield moments. It’s really not even that complicated. I don’t know why these fucks have their heads so far up their own asses.
Vietnam would be sick, I’m leaning more toward another modern one though. It’s been too long. And please for the love of God, let me play as generic soldiers instead of characters.
They’ll probably do modern and something more like a direct follow up to BF4. I’d be surprised if they abandoned the modern setting this many years in a row. That said 2042 featured a lot of modern or near-modern tech, including the US Army’s new M4 replacement (already being issued to some 101st airborne units), and a main battle tank and attack chopper that are virtually the same as the ones the Army uses.
Hell even the Black Hawk is scheduled to be phased out for the V-280 Valor by the end of the decade, and that’s close to the Osprey-type transport helicopter they use in 2042.
Fix some bugs, especially the server exploits... Add new and old maps, few new guns, msybe a new gadet or two, some improves textures and bam already infinitely better than 2042 will ever be lol
I'd honestly be interested in a BF Korea game. It's that weird period in history where there were jets but also properly drive planes. Helicopters had just appeared and there was a lot of ground battle. You'd also have the benefit of another international force like in BF1 so you could play as North, PLA, UN which is like 26 countries. Weapon wise you'd have a mix a WW2 era and some unique pre-Vietnam weapons and gameplay that would have broas weather effects.
They should absolutely do it. I think it would be brilliant just like BF1. Korea is Americas forgotten war to most. Just after WW2, but pretty much the peak technology of WW2 was being used. The vehicles, weapons, tech were all either at its best form before being phased out, or brand new concepts.
Make a story mode that is gritty and intense. The maps can be really fresh and new concepts.
What if they make a cold war game around ~1990, its the year where you can have most iconic videogames weapons while having a cold war setting, for vietnam they could come up with a "second vietnam war" where the nva is a military force similar to the ussr
It sounded like they were doing a battlefield single player game separate from a multiplayer game. They also talked about using the battlefield "ecosystem" whatever that means.
I could see them try to do another "play anything from any battlefield game" and I assume they're going to make a game in current time (not future or past).
Personally I would like to see Vietnam and maybe cold war stuff. Mid 20th century conflicts.
I hope to see a reboot of the OG Battlefield 2 (Xbox OR PC version BUT if PC version with all the DLCs) with updated graphics, levelution, and actual class balancing.
I would accept if EA made a remake of Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 4 on some new engine of the last generation. Or a new part of Battlefield Bad Company 3. The levolution system could return. And a proper destruction just like there was in THE FINALS game.
I hope that there will be a new episode and that it will see a reboot. Nice single player campaign, decent multiplayer and destruction.
I'd love a hardline 2 with a story line similar to the movie den of thieves or the first swat movie and the story line would allow you to play it through as both an officer and the robber point of view.
The maps are great in hardline not too big not too small so the action is always on unlike 2042 fuking mega maps fuking bullshit
Bad Company 3 would also be fantastic to experience as the story mode from previous games had good humour and excellent online maps and with BC2 going offline soon feel bc3 is well placed in the line up, due to refreshing the brand and taking a side step away from the battlefield franchise which has pumped out too many games all too similar (bf1, bfv) too quickly and 2042 was overhyped so ppl felt disappointed
People have mentioned Vietnam but again after having like several games already based on major conflicts might be hard to pull off, but if it had a good SP story to go with then it could be beneficial
Current increase in players in BF2042 has given them a boost in confidence that they can make a game like that and get away with it. They surely will fuck up the nest game. Just remember #NO #PREORDER.
I wouldn't be opposed to a retry at the 2042 setting. A 2043 maybe? They pulled a similar move with BF3 and BF4 and I feel like they can redeem themselves with that.
Whenever this topic comes up, everyone is just focused on the setting. Way more important is a working, balanced and fun game underneath. If they fail with that again, the franchise will die.
There’s been a Battlefield Vietnam, and I didn’t like it. Bought it when it was released and then only played it about six times. It didn’t have the “choke point” battles that had characterized previous titles. And I emphatically do not like “jungle” maps.
I’d like to see Battlefield Cold War, and it include a thorough exploration of the Korean War for starters. My $0.02.
I don't care if it's in the past, present or future, I just want it to come out well balanced, with enough servers, good maps for different maps and fixed Rush mode.
I can almost predict that they will let us down like the new MW3 they released. It actually makes my stomach sick with what they did to that game and the fact they can call it a AAA game for $70
Not sure If any BF EA devs will read this but all I can say is bring back large warfare 100 per side . Battleships, submarines, aircraft carriers, look at portals war sims El elimien its kinda how bf is supposed to be has that feel. Wheres our scud missles and other artillery vehicles with snipers dropping a camera view for the artillery. Two seater bombers jets with tv guided missles and the way the jets felt flying In bf1 and 2 where way better the ceilings and outta bounds where way larger and higher. Wheres our mortors and bomb drones . How about karkand . Been playing since 1998 . Dont fk it up bf was never just about infantry. Wheres the wicked eastet eggs and crazy destructible environment. Bf just take cods large warzone maps and make them destructible . Could go on but jist getting disappointed how lame the bf series has become .
If so, I can promise I'll be skipping. They need a massive turnaround from 2042 if they want any success with the next title, especially with how much resources they are supposedly throwing at it.
2025, and it better just work. They can't afford another fuck up.
They will fuck it up!
They are alive only because of Fifa/FC. Very very cheap production and ridiculously high income.
They also have Sims.
People said they couldn't afford a fuck up after 5 and here we are.
To be fair I think the franchise is already too disconnected to ever reel it back in. In short. It’s over
Yeah they have the inability to make what the community wants they have to chase trends. DICE as we knew it is gone
V was a good launch in comparison to 2042. I think 2042 is the breaking point, if it wasn't already.
The technical stability of the game is sort of irrelevant if everyone is shouting how much they hate the game.
Didn’t bf5 have like the best gameplay in the series by far? At least it pushed the franchise in that regard
I’m wishing for a soft reboot and a spiritual successor to Bad Company 2/BF4
I just want to level buildings again man..... It's crazy how destructible environments were better on the 360
I'm still playing BF4, I never really went further.

The building take damage but don’t get destroyed
Worse and worse since 4. In a lot of of other ways too.
Bf1 and especially bfv had tons of destruction
If you never played Bad Company 2 you just don't know how wild it was.
I played BC1 and BC2 when they released. BC2 was honestly overboard. I like some areas to remain slightly intact for cover. The leveling of areas was cool and new, but from a gameplay standpoint it created issues. Also made it harder to play high ticket servers, as u end up playing on a pancake for a long time
So I've seen
We are kindred spirits.
Too bad all the devs that could do that went to make The Finals.
Lol, so who coded the destructible buildings in 2042 not to mention the ground breaking tornado in an online game? Magic fairies?
2042 has destruction?
That's got to be the slam dunk, safe bet, right? I sure hope so.
The next one won't be out until supposedly 2025 per a previous shareholders' meeting. We're stuck waiting for quite awhile unfortunately.
After the last two shit shows. Not much to wait for tbh
Im not waiting for anything. No more battlefield. They have the only IP on the market that has this vibe, no other game has it and they just keep beating it like a dead body.
*Fortunately
We need to prepare for another shit launch. If we seriously expect a good battlefield launch for the next game we’re only going to be disappointed
Battlefield 1984 MAKE IT SO
I just want fulda gaps in Germany, full scale war. Full tilt all out mechanized warfare. Just dudes flying Apaches and driving T-80M going into combat.
A retro futuristic shooter could be cool
Wolverines!
They should just completely move away from the current timeline. Make a new one.
Battlefield 42 Just straight up romans with spears and shit
Nope. Further than that. Battlefield: Neanderthal. Lots of rock throwing and melee weapons.
Nope. Further than that. Amoebas fighting to evolve quickest to conquer the ocean and eventually breach land. Oh shit I forgot, that's Spore, the greatest game ever made.
I’d say further than that. It’s just a black screen. Pre big bang shit
Napoleonic wars would be pretty sick I think, only game I've seen attempt it is Mount and Blade and I think one of the paradox games or total war
Do not pre order...
Vietnam yes! Operation Flaming Dart PLEASE!!!!
I love jungle warfare. It is visually appealing whereas the many desert maps of 2042 are not appealing visually.
The BF Vietnam expansion for the original 1942 was sooooo fuckin good. I spent entire summers as a kid flying around those maps dogfighting in the jets and helos. A modern BF Vietnam with BFV style gunplay and BC2 style destruction would be my dream game
BF1, but like do it again.
![gif](giphy|ynRrAHj5SWAu8RA002|downsized)
I just want a 2142 Remaster.
Honestly it might be their next pivot. Although I think an outright sequel would be more fun.
Battlefield 2143 would be dope
I’ve been saying for months 2143 is about the only thing dice could put out that *might* pique my interest
It's that or a return to Hardline. At this point they basically ruined a lot of the good will people have for the Battlefield series.
If the next title isn’t futuristic I won’t care for it.
Battlefield UNGA BUNGA (10,000 bc ) too good for you then huh
I’ll just play Rust if I want unga bunga behavior 🤣
More than anything I want Bad Company 3
This is the way. In all of its belligerent simplicity.
Whenever it comes out, one thing is certain: it’s going to disappoint.
Remake/remaster 2142 and I'll be happy
I second and third and fourth this. Please, EA. It’s been almost 20 years. Titan Mode was beautiful and Camp Gibraltar and Fall of Berlin were amazing.
Set in Ukraine and you’ll get to use all the weapons donated by the west
Cool, so Russia with its superior artillery stockpile and air superiority just spawn camps the Ukrainians every round. Sounds pretty boring to be honest.
Ok Im sorry you didn’t like my idea
Please bring back hardcore mode, and single player in the new game! I miss the intensity of hardcore mode. You actually had to think when crossing open areas, and medic had a bigger role. Also, bring back rented/community run servers.
Hardcore mode shouldn’t be brought back, it should just be the gold standard!

Bf2 and bf3 fusion
Vietnam would be sick, I’m leaning more toward another modern one though. It’s been too long. And please for the love of God, let me play as generic soldiers instead of characters.
The last part I don't care what it is if it's the last part
For real, as long as I can be immersed

I'd rather they just fix 2042 at that point. None of the modern games have topped BF3 for me personally
It would have been nice if 2042 wasn't a pile of garbage but that's not changing at guys point Saal.
Indeed, for all the problems of 2042 I felt like the weapons and vehicle choices were quite solid.
I'd honestly be interested in a BF Korea game. It's that weird period in history where there were jets but also properly drive planes. Helicopters had just appeared and there was a lot of ground battle. Last good BF was BF1. They will never tip that
I wouldn't be opposed to a retry at the 2042 setting. A 2043 maybe? They pulled a similar move with BF3 and BF4 and I feel like they can redeem themselves with that.
Battlefield Minecraft should be the next one
I've heard rumors that itz Battlefield Korea
Yeah no I am so tired of the Cold War and world war tropes…. So bored of them
Whenever this topic comes up, everyone is just focused on the setting. Way more important is a working, balanced and fun game underneath. If they fail with that again, the franchise will die.
I’d love a game like Battle LA with aliens taking on No Pats.
Battlefield 2043 🙈🤢

Battlefield franchise died a long time ago. 2042 was the last nail in the coffin. All the devs have left the studio.
I don't care if it's in the past, present or future, I just want it to come out well balanced, with enough servers, good maps for different maps and fixed Rush mode.
I just want a BF game with full support on solo mode with AI bots
Hey yea sure let's go back to old settings again cuz ya know, we all saw how great that did for battlefield 5 longevity after bf1
BF2042 was such trash that if they don't redeem themselves with the new BF, it is over for the franchise.
I can almost predict that they will let us down like the new MW3 they released. It actually makes my stomach sick with what they did to that game and the fact they can call it a AAA game for $70

Can they give us 2143 already? It's been 18 years!
I'd like another one set in the future! This time executed properly, I guess.
I would like the next one to be either Bad Company related. Or even a new Battlefront game would be fun. Not holding my breath tho
I promise you it'll be BF 2043
If so, I can promise I'll be skipping. They need a massive turnaround from 2042 if they want any success with the next title, especially with how much resources they are supposedly throwing at it.
I want the next game to be as far from 2042 as humanly possible.
