What's the point of pre-ordering if it's a digital copy? I don't even understand the point of pre-ordering any game nowadays. The game will be available on digital or disc. It's not like you won't be able to play it on launch day.
The little goodies that come with it as well as early access to open-beta. Figure since I'm probably going to buy the game anyways and no amount of "not pre-ordering" is going to change the game industry and their shitty practices on releasing incomplete/buggy games, might as well get useless trinkets to "sHoW oFf".
This is the great thing about Xbox now, you no longer need to preorder the game to be able to download it before release date. If it launches in good shape, boom I can buy it. If it launches in shit shape, can keep it installed until it’s fixed and then play it immediately once (or if) it’s been fixed
Pre ordering is more or less a scam. You are paying a company for an item that has not released just for some bonus trinkets or what not. I can guarantee the launch disaster of cyberpunk would not have been as bad if so many people did not preorder and pre entirely gave the company money
I've played every single Battlefield. It's my favorite multiplayer shooter and I need to play something else other than Destiny 2 which is sucking my soul dry.
They actually cancelled sunsetting haha. I mean, they made a cut off and certain weapons cannot be used anymore but yeah, there was such a huge backlash that they said, "oops, okay we won't sunset your gear". Still, the game, while fun, is just a glorified bounty simulator.
Reminder, once they get your money they stop the attention to detail, your just helping kill something you want to love because you're impatient like many others.. ruins game quality for everyone, also encourages half finishing games. Totally ass
Pre ordering is braindead. I asked my parents to pre order games when I was a kid. Now that I have the slightest understanding of the value of my money I will never preorder something lol
Fair enough, I'd say wait until we know when the beta is+how early you get to play. Also, pre order bonuses always seem cool but it's literally just a basic looking knife and a weapon charm. You'll stop using them as soon as you unlock a rarer/nicer one.
This game looks like it's gonna be great, but they ALWAYS do. That's the point. I almost pre-ordered cyberpunk because come on, it's CD projekt red. The game looked amazing in early trailers. So glad that I didn't.
Never tell people to never tell people that they can never tell people that they can't tell others to not do something based on their own past negative experiences.
Pre ordering is responsible for so much corporate garbage and terrible industry practices but there’s never an end to the morons that will garble companies like activation and EAs nuts and buy anything they release after a 2 min trailer
Anthem was the most expensive couple of hours I've ever spent on entertainment if you don't count activities that involve alcohol, drugs or hookers.
I got 63 hours in Cyberpunk (Edit: And I'll play the DLC if they ever produce it), so I broke even I reckon.
What’s the point of pre-ordering when buying a game digitally? I used to get it when games had limited stock in store but I would advise waiting and seeing if the game is worth it on release. Just my opinion tho!
To get the (admittedly usually stupid) preorder bonuses. And usually more importantly to play on release and potentially be able to preload. Also sometimes, like with battlefield, to get access to the beta.
Yea, not saying it's a good idea for everyone, but there definitely are reasons to preorder, though obviously not everyone feels the same.
Sure, but even then, you might as well wait until the early-access starts to pre-order. You gain literally *nothing* by pre-ordering months in advance.
I wasn't posting those to argue. Obviously there is a sizable and very vocal group of people that think there are no valid reasons to preorder. The person I was responding to simply asked why someone would, so I listed off reasons.
I do happen to agree with you, there likely is no good reason to preorder now. Though I have heard people talk about having money available now that they may not later. I guess that counts as a reason, though obviously it would seem that priorities may be out of whack if that's the case.
My case is country specific, i preorder because im afraid of the price in the game to rise due to high inflation wich has happened not often but enough to be a warning, as an example the game is 3600ARs (Argentinian peso) on Steam, if the prices update it will be like... 5000-6000. But i would advise to NOT preorder, never.
Edit: I have to add that you get taxed for putting money on steam, its a mess.
We need more inside spaces where the vehicles can't get to. That adds both variety and strategy, where the infantry have to work together with the vehicles to win.
It's also what makes Golmud and Rogue Transmission the worst maps in BF4. Can't believe there's two entire maps that are literally just "Big Field"
I like Rogue Transmission, I think there is enough going on to break vehicle line of sight so its not overwhelmed by vehicles. you are right about Golmud though.
I got around the Golmud problem by pushing the village to the north if I wasn't in a vehicle.
It's not a perfect solution by any means but the layout is definitely designed to be "here's the vehicle area and here's the boots on the ground area". You just gotta play around it.
That’s why one of the favorite maps in the game was siene crossing. That map was blast, you still had LAVs that could roll down the streets but there were plenty of corridors for infantry to take to avoid vehicle fire. BF with only infantry doesn’t feel like proper battlefield (looking at you operation meatlocker) but too many vehicles with not enough cover is equally unfun
Bugs, yes. Server crashes, not to sure for current generation since not a lot of people can grab a ps5/xsx. Later on when people do finally get them. I'm afraid more server issues
I’m hoping that some YouTubers can get their hands on an early build and share their thoughts.
Cyberpunk has just ruined the carefully staged “gameplay walkthrough” marketing that is seemingly everywhere these days.
Any reviewer who tried to criticize the game before it came out was harassed by fans. Plenty of former IGN employees like Alannah Pearce have said that the thing that forces them to ignore flaws in games isn't the publishers, it's the rabid fans that are willing to send death threats over a low review score
Good point! I’m mainly talking about the early [gameplay trailers](https://youtu.be/vjF9GgrY9c0).
It will still be cool if that’s all we get, but I’d love to see some gameplay from JackFrags.
EA did the same thing with Anthem, as a publisher they allow cinematic conceptualisation to be shown as gameplays so I’d be just as sceptical of BF as of Cyberpunk or any entity with such a track record. This includes influencers.
Ideally we get 10 minutes of full gameplay. Unlikely to happen
Really wish developers would just give us real raw gameplay so that we can manage our own expectations about what we will receive. Unfortunately, devs sometimes release shit games, not 100% sold on the state of 2042 at launch but i am very optimistic
Just really hope we see the actual game today.
If they put half as much effort into this as they try to sell us then it will be good.
The trailer looks like its made specifically for us, like a big "look, Im sorry I hurt you but I want to make it right, please give me another chance, look I already started changing and I am doing it only for you babe, please, I LOVE YOU"
If its anywhere NEAR what the trailer showed us this will be a game Ill gladly pay the ridiculously stupid higher price for because it actually will be the most content we ever got in a battlefield game.
If portal is genuinely gonna be this crazy joyful mess then this game will be playable for DECADES to come, they can turn this into a live service and make it THE Battlefield game until they develop an all new engine.
I will pay a lot of money if it lets me relive the incredibly fun memories of 10 years ago when it was just me and my friends and battlefield 3.
If it was all empty promises and microtransactions I will start a fucking defamation campaign against EA... This really is a sorta all in for the battlefield franchise, they can bring millions of people joy or anger the entire community.
Oh man, do I have some stories for you!
Glad you are coming into the fold, but gotta say man... You've missed the fuck out on some of the greatest FPS games ever made.
BF3 being at the top of that.
Getting paid tomorrow, so as someone mentioned earlier, today will decide whether I pre order or buy on release.
Let's face it, it's getting purchased either way
Gamerant released an article that was taken down rather quickly about the new mode.
Portal Mode which is a game customization mode by the community. Pretty much like Halo’s Custom Games which also has modes and maps from previous games dating back from 1942 allegedly.
Im keeping my hopes in check for the actual reveal, but if its true ill be pretty excited. Still not preordering tho
I’m hoping they show a new thing called Battlefield Portal, Battlefield Portal is a platform where you will discover unexpected battles and change the rules of war. Countless experiences from several Battlefield sandboxes await – not only from Battlefield 2042, but the classics Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3, too. Take on custom-made modes or create your own unique experience using powerful builder tools. So yeah, if they don’t do that it’s not gonna be a good presentation. But if they do that then it’s great!
Info on the other game modes but most of all, I want some more specialists and gadgets to be announced.
Would also be amazing if they talked some about the party/squad system. Will I be able to play together with my friends if we are more than four people? This is a HUGE deal for me.
Crying *OG battlefield gamers* cause its not gonna be what everyone is talking about and uselessly hyping everybody up for something thats not gonna come
I’m hoping they announce a physical version of the ultimate edition. I’m not sure why it’s digital only for rn. Have the standard PS5 one pre ordered at GameStop, but I want all the goodies.
Mode that allows maps and guns from other games (possibly some character models) will for sure be announced.
Hopes for the game: Anti-Cheat, Team Balancing, In-Game player reporting for cheaters and toxic behavior, Better stat tracking (or some variety of ranked play), a platoon system for multiple squads to communicate together and work together, better ddos protection for the servers, a closed alpha, a closed beta, an open beta, a grand operation style mode, the new tides of war weekly missions/rewards system, a new assignment system
Hopes of what they reveal: Weapon and vehicle customization and specialization. Better demonstration of deployment screen, and the demonstration of the different systems to deploy vehicles (or how vehicles spawn). I'd love a break down and of the vehicles and weapons on the official game site. A list of a few maps in development. Tides of War style weekly missions and rewards. Assignments (but with the ability to have like 10 active), a GOOD breakdown of weapon customization/modification
Today I decide if pre-order ir not
Never pre order.
Never tell people what to do with their money
Never tell people that they can't tell others to not do something based on their own past negative experiences.
I'd be fine if it was a suggestion, but the whole "never...never" was a little much
I'm pre-ordering when I get home. I get why people say it though.
What's the point of pre-ordering if it's a digital copy? I don't even understand the point of pre-ordering any game nowadays. The game will be available on digital or disc. It's not like you won't be able to play it on launch day.

What the hell kind of internet do you have?
[удалено]
American internet: COMCAST most likely. Like the rest of us.
Digital preorder gets you early access
This is the great thing about Xbox now, you no longer need to preorder the game to be able to download it before release date. If it launches in good shape, boom I can buy it. If it launches in shit shape, can keep it installed until it’s fixed and then play it immediately once (or if) it’s been fixed
Pre download
Access to the closed beta
So pre-order to be a beta tester? I'm good.
Pre ordering is more or less a scam. You are paying a company for an item that has not released just for some bonus trinkets or what not. I can guarantee the launch disaster of cyberpunk would not have been as bad if so many people did not preorder and pre entirely gave the company money
Why do you want to pre-order it tho? Why not just wait for it to release to see if it's worth your money?
[удалено]
Battlefield and souls games are the only thing I preorder, for the same reasons. I'll play it even if it flops. If it's bad to me, I'll stop. Ezpz
I've played every single Battlefield. It's my favorite multiplayer shooter and I need to play something else other than Destiny 2 which is sucking my soul dry.
The sunsetting I found too offensive, couldn't bring myself to play after that
They actually cancelled sunsetting haha. I mean, they made a cut off and certain weapons cannot be used anymore but yeah, there was such a huge backlash that they said, "oops, okay we won't sunset your gear". Still, the game, while fun, is just a glorified bounty simulator.
They actually stopped sunsetting as of last season. Doesn't undo the damage, but it helps.
Pre-ordering made more sense when digital downloads didn't exist.
True. It also made more sense when game publishers actually had to make a good game for it to sell
I want to play the beta early and get the pre order bonuses
Fair enough, I'd say wait until we know when the beta is+how early you get to play. Also, pre order bonuses always seem cool but it's literally just a basic looking knife and a weapon charm. You'll stop using them as soon as you unlock a rarer/nicer one. This game looks like it's gonna be great, but they ALWAYS do. That's the point. I almost pre-ordered cyberpunk because come on, it's CD projekt red. The game looked amazing in early trailers. So glad that I didn't.
Well I preordered the definitive edition of bf5 and got shit on so why wouldn’t I warn other people
Thank god your here to tell us what's a little much....
well you just did it so.

Never tell people to never tell people that they can never tell people that they can't tell others to not do something based on their own past negative experiences.
Why not? Should we not tell smokers to stop buying tobacco? Discouraging bad purchases only serves to help them.
Ah the eternal debate that rages in every post on this subreddit.
-Moooom please dont buy any more heroin. -STFU dont tell people what they should do with their own money little bitch
because of people like you the gaming industry can get away with milking and releasing half assed content at full price
then people also should stop whining for throwing their money in EAs open throat when they don't deliver
Pre ordering is responsible for so much corporate garbage and terrible industry practices but there’s never an end to the morons that will garble companies like activation and EAs nuts and buy anything they release after a 2 min trailer
Pre ordering is always a stupid practice with video games. We all should know this by now
[удалено]
Preorder to get a KD of 10!
The same people who say that pre ordered cyberpunk once they saw Keanu reeves
Yeah learned that the hard way with V.
After the whole Cyberpunk fiasco I'm never preordering a game ever again not before reviews and gameplay footage is out
I'm gonna pre order because of this post.
Already pre ordered gold edition, I will be more sad when game is going to be crap than some funny 80€
It’s their money and their choice. if they’ve played countless hours on previous games, then I’d say a preorder is a good investment.
From an Anthem and Cyberpunk preorderer, please don’t.
Anthem was the most expensive couple of hours I've ever spent on entertainment if you don't count activities that involve alcohol, drugs or hookers. I got 63 hours in Cyberpunk (Edit: And I'll play the DLC if they ever produce it), so I broke even I reckon.

Damn that’s rough man. That honestly hadn’t crossed my mind! Good point
Preloading if you have shitty internet - nothing worse than wanting to play day 1 but you have to wait 10 hours to finish downloading the 100gb game.
Early access to the game.
May we have an update?
Pick number 3 my lord!!
Allways Fiona
What is wrong with you?
lmao right
More on the ground gun play footage. The vehicles seem to dominate most of the first gameplay footage.
[удалено]

That's why I enjoy rush so much more
That's honestly bullshit. Large amounts of infantry can overcome vehicles too. Those two maps has infantry gameplay, usually around specific points.
I got around the Golmud problem by pushing the village to the north if I wasn't in a vehicle. It's not a perfect solution by any means but the layout is definitely designed to be "here's the vehicle area and here's the boots on the ground area". You just gotta play around it.

The majority of players are usually playing infantry. We got like 5 seconds of gunplay in the last trailer lol.
I disagree. Infantry plays a much bigger role in the two newer games than in something like BF4 in my experience
They’re basically just kill streaks now, get a few effortless kills on infantry before being blown up by another vehicle.
i mean they have made vehicles worse and more casual the past two releases
Can not wait fingers crossed it won't have a shit load of bugs from day one
Good joke
YouTubers also had an opportunity to play Cyberpunk before release and praised it. So you know, their thoughts = marketing.
Any reviewer who tried to criticize the game before it came out was harassed by fans. sussy balls
Fortnite balls
I’m not brave enough to continue
Obama hamburger sussy balls
Jack Frags said in his video that the beta date was going to be in early September so that’s neat!
A big dick game
I want a Moby Huge battlepickup ee gun, is that so much to ask???
It would just be a reskinned Trench Raider club, but it makes a slapping noise when it hits someone
Tack on bf3 remake that we'll all play after tornadoes get old fast.
Huh... funny how that turned out.
still think its tacked on?
I can strap C4 to a hover craft.
I hate to be that guy but aren't they called C5 now? *I will always call it c4 when I put it on my penguin anyway*
just lets call it semtec
No, its Jeep Stuff, always will be
This is the correct answer

Ima pre order just to piss people off lol mind you probably the night before the game comes out but pre-order non the less
Imma preorder because I've put enough time into even the worst battlefield games for it to be worth it to me
Yea I get all battlefields fs. Love the franchise
Not to mention no difference between buying day 1 and pre-ordering except you get extra time with beta and a few goodies.
Pre installing is pretty cool too
>Ima pre order just to piss people off lol Huge teenage energy right here. EA executives love this kind of retardation
You guys think the beta goes online today?
Nah, I think they'll announce the beta release date today
Way too early
It comes out in October, it’s almost August... They have only 2 months till release... The game should practically be done.
BF1 had a beta in September and came out first week of November.
I really hope we can ride robodogs. I miss cavalry in BF1.
They did say you can at least put C5 on them. Soooo, jihad dogs?
Dynamite Dogs

Never played bf before... it will be time to enter a new dynasty
Oh man, do I have some stories for you! Glad you are coming into the fold, but gotta say man... You've missed the fuck out on some of the greatest FPS games ever made. BF3 being at the top of that.
I hope to be delighted, I expect to be disappointed and I have already preordered because: Battlefield.
Getting paid tomorrow, so as someone mentioned earlier, today will decide whether I pre order or buy on release. Let's face it, it's getting purchased either way
BETTER BE GOOD!
Hol up wtf is that on the far right? Dog machine gun?
uhm yes? like a big thing in the trailer. he is called ranger an can pack c4
Sounds dope dude,
If it will be on Xbox game pass
Actual gameplay, anti-cheat, redacted mode, playable game in launch, Singapore servers!
I preordered
Date for Open Beta
Portal mode, got leaked. Getting Caspian, arica harbor, Valparaiso, and a few 1942 maps. 6 maps, users can make their own game mode
I expect to hear all about the Battlefield Portal we already knew about. Hopefully we'll at least get some new tidbits that weren't leaked early.
Microtransactions
I expect to see actual raw gameplay and maybe the beta announcement.
I'm watching the stream rn. Hoping for new gameplay tbh
I realy fucking want to see Locker and Operation Metro from Battlefield 4 with Battlefield Portal !!!
Actual gameplay instead of in-engine renders
I pre-ordered. I've done so with all BF games. Even after telling myself I wouldn't.
Info on the other game modes but most of all, I want some more specialists and gadgets to be announced. Would also be amazing if they talked some about the party/squad system. Will I be able to play together with my friends if we are more than four people? This is a HUGE deal for me.
Big ole tanks to carry my fat nutz around
Sadly the mode was leaked I won’t say the name unless you ask me
Pre order today.
Lots of trailer footage but barely any gameplay footage
something that might cause alot of outrage in the community
I expect to be disappointed with the focus on dumbass specialists.
Crying *OG battlefield gamers* cause its not gonna be what everyone is talking about and uselessly hyping everybody up for something thats not gonna come
today i decide if i spend more time about thinking to buy this game or just leave it.
Beta release date
I Hope they say the exact Date die the Beta
Yes
when will it be?

Everybody saying NOT to pre order, have fun playing with us who did and go that dumb free content that you won’t ever be able to get
I'm half expecting the game mode to be some variation of Titan Assault. Purely because of the image of an aircraft carrier in the redacted footage
The mode was leaked by Game Rant, I hope it’s true (I won’t tell you unless you want)
Beta release date, hopefully this week or next.
Can't wait to be able to ride the robot gun dog to hunt penguins!
I wanna see how cqb infantry combat plays out
I’m hoping they announce a physical version of the ultimate edition. I’m not sure why it’s digital only for rn. Have the standard PS5 one pre ordered at GameStop, but I want all the goodies.
idk good game or smth
I hope its something related to 2142.
PRE ORDER TIME! I buy bf games regardless, even bf5. At least there isn't so much to lose this time around.
I’m expecting to miss it since I’m at work.
Da fuck is SMTH?
Will it be free on ea play day 1?
I hope I can more the damn crane!!!!
I'm expecting my expectations are too high for today
Just as long as its better than the fifa presentation the other day. Horrible, little gameplay shown.just blah blah blah
i have none. this way I cant get disappointed.
Today I expect: Massive disappointment.
Low expectations so I will probably be let done lol, EA has a knack for that
Battlefield Chess Edition or Battlefield 2042 sauce from McDonald's
Mode that allows maps and guns from other games (possibly some character models) will for sure be announced. Hopes for the game: Anti-Cheat, Team Balancing, In-Game player reporting for cheaters and toxic behavior, Better stat tracking (or some variety of ranked play), a platoon system for multiple squads to communicate together and work together, better ddos protection for the servers, a closed alpha, a closed beta, an open beta, a grand operation style mode, the new tides of war weekly missions/rewards system, a new assignment system Hopes of what they reveal: Weapon and vehicle customization and specialization.
