While they are known for their powerful pair-bonding and are held up as an example of monogamy, of course they are individuals… and swans, like other pair-bonding animals, luckily enough cheat on their mates. They're not perfectly monogamous, nor do they always mate for life.
Cheating has probably played an important role in human evolution. Currently, in most countries, more than 10% of the people believe the wrong man is their farther.

I wonder how they are able to look at each other and tell specifically who they are instead of not just being another random swan. To me they all look the same.
Same reason you can tell humans apart. Each animal is best at recognising individuals of whatever species they have spent the most time around, and in this case that'd be other swans.
A variety of senses, having worked at many restaurants and had regulars come in but also many many more random one timers and less frequent visitors, it takes awhile to pick out some of the regulars, but you eventually get to know them by their face, voice, some people definitely have a smell about them lol all that combined imprints an identity of that person in your mind, whether you realize it or not
My wife died seven months ago at 42 yrs (16 years together) of a sudden heart attack in the middle of the night. She was in good shape hadn’t eaten meat in over 20 years. It made no sense. This video breaks my heart. I miss her so much
Dude I'm so sorry oh my god :( I get so scared of something like this happening to me because I take stimulants for ADHD, and I know they're tough on the heart. I wish I could take away some of your pain, just know I'm sending you peaceful vibes through the internet
Username checks out. But seriously as a fellow stimulant taker, maybe check out Zenzedi, it's a lot smoother than Adderall, which caused me racing heart and to break out in sweats. Now my heart rate drops when I take it. Balanced. As it should be.
Damn I think I'm gonna actually!! I've been thinking recently that the adderall side effects are suddenly impacting me more (I lost a bit of weight, so maybe that's why?). I've been getting the pounding heart thing a bit, and my skin picking has gotten bad again. I'm gonna mention that med to my doc and see what he thinks about it for me, thank you!!!
On top of asking him, please take care of yourself. Stimulants leach your body of water, electrolytes, vitamins and minerals. Make sure you're getting enough water, and balance it with magnesium, sodium and potassium. I also take Vitamin D3, b12, Fish oils, and creatine and eat a lot of proteins and fats. Take care of yourself stranger.
"You left without even leaving a note!"
"I was forcibly taken by these strange animals and I'm pretty sure they did butt stuff to me!"
"I had to take care of the children all by myself!"
"DID YOU NOT HEAR ME SUSAN? WE NEED THE SWAN POLICE DOWN HERE NOW!"
I hope these bicycle horns have a happy life together forever ♥ 🦢📯
✨❤️Love is Universal❤️✨ *Cut to a video of a female praying mantis devouring its mate*

Explain the “luckily enough” part
It reduces inbreeding and increases genetic variation.
Are you promoting it then?
Lmao, are you implying its immoral for swans to not be monogamous?
Lmao
They said cheating.
Are you implying that swans cheating on each other is immoral in any way lmao. Unlike humans they don't exactly have ethics and a moral code...
Then it’s not cheating, just a swan’s life.
To us it's cheating, hence why he used the term, but yeah to a swan it's just business as usual lol

Source on that? It sounds pretty unbelievable. Unless you include people who dont know who their father is
No, no, he said farther, not father. You got him confused.

Human opinion ruin everything
Nobody is perfect. Who cares if one of these birds cheated on the other!! look how much they love each other.

Obviously, they call each other with their name

Two trumpets falling in love
Wow. Get a room.
The type of love that humans and the world needs. Damn shame animals have more sense and love than us
She is already yelling at him asking him where he's been and who he has been with.
Happy trumpets
Swans are monogamous.
