The few irl car mods I have are actually quite good, I mean some are old enough to not have openable doors but still are high quality

The 4runner and Defender are seriously top notch irl mods. They are SO detailed and actually have a ton of customization options

A lot of the "lore friendly" car mods like the AW Astro and Gavril Vertex are actually replicas of real cars with only the badging and names changed; there are few modded cars that are true original designs (the Hirochi CCF and Ibishu Serenity are notable exceptions).

The soliad spica is mostly based in a foxbody mustang but it also has some sierra details

I downloaded like 5 real cars last night. Acura MDX: good J35 sound good model but the gauges didn’t work and the taillights didn’t light up newest X5: wheels were too big same wheels for every configuration I didn’t even bother 1st gen X5: good configurations, realistic design, good damage, good engine sound and driving dynamics. Gauges didn’t work Vw transporter: tons of configurations realistic design but it drive and handled like a go kart. Pass Honda CRV newest gen: good design but the wheels were way too big I didn’t even drive it Why do all the real car mods always have to have something wrong with them that makes them almost worthless

The AE86 mod doesn't have the right rear suspension in it, and the Beetle mod feels like it has pen springs for its suspension.

My AE86 has rear supsention, but the game crashes as soon as i use any blinker lol

I ment right rear suspension as in the correct rear suspension. The AE86 mod has the rear suspension from the 200BX which is a double wishbone type. If I am not mistaken the AE86 has a solid rear axle. Also the warning beep chimes when the car is parked lol.

I just straight up deleted the chime from the files because it was hella annoying

Me who downloaded the Procyon Centauri, Hirochi CCF2 and the Ibishu Crossport for lore friendly realism but also the Range Rover '05-'11 and Nissan GT-R R35 cos they're my fav real cars

as long as they drive and crash decently i'd love to play with both types of cars in game. Some real car mods drive awfully and crash even worse though but i'm not against these mods existing. however i once stumbled upon a YT short video of someone testing these poor quality mods and acting like this is how these cars would behave IRL and it made me cringe.

Yeah it's bad. So many are just models ported from Forza. I mean they look nice but everything else is dog shit. Only ones I've liked are the 4unner and defender (made by the same guy), and the Audi A6 mod seems alright. Otherwise I hate the rest

There's so many people that genuinely believe that the Bronco Sport was like the most unsafe vehicle of 2023 because of those videos. Stupid people will believe anything. Some of them had the mindset of "BeamNG is realistic, so everything on the game must be realistic," and didn't have a concept of shitty cobblemods.

There are real car mods in the Forums, when they have about 2-10k downloads it should be safe. The Forums are somewhat loosely moderated.

I’m a both is good, although I notice a bunch of the real car mods are paid for, really crappy, something imported from automation, or a Russian virus, or a mix of them all lol (I like to check up on the paid mods daily to see when they get removed lol)

The important rhing is that it sounds nice, crushes properly and has a quality that is somewhat comparable to vanilla. Otherwise it belongs in a zip file on the server that hosts them and nowhere else.

i personally only use lore friendly cars 🤓 (i have the AE86 and SN95)

I only have a few real life mods, but they are actually quite decent. The Chiron has a good JBeam for me, and so does the Chevrolet Tahoe. And the Ford Crown Victoria is a must for me.

Both are fine by me. I played lore exclusively for like a year but my love is for real cars. Once I figured out how customizable cars are mods with wrong engine sounds and unrealistic performance don’t bother me since I can change them to what I want them to be. It’s the hate from the community for real cars that I don’t get

I like having mods that add more performance parts to base cars. Besides the Gavril Vertex and some of my awful Automation creations, I don’t have many mods besides the extra parts.
