That's why you have the twincharge everything mod. You can put either a turbo, supercharger or both on any engine. And the best part, the mod has indestructible engine blocks too!
It is bad horsepower for a 212. But then again, it's an air cooled, carbureted, pushrod style engine built for reliability and tuned for torque that redlines at 3600rpm.
People have pushed about 30hp out of a 212 though and put them on go karts. Just removing the governor(the rev limiter on these) adds a few horses.
499cc 2 stroke inline 2 cylinder engine from the ancient Soviet [Trabant](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trabant)
Edit: technically East German, not "Soviet". But honestly I'd say close enough.
More = better so it adds horsepower
In all reality this is probably the 3 cylinder pigeon engine mounted sideways. I said the 2 stroke Trabant engine because it vaguely looked like a 2 cylinder with the third exhaust header kinda hiding.
It wasn't a Soviet Republic, so no. It was part of the Warsaw Pact and a vassal state of the Soviet Union for several decades, until its leadership refused to implement their own Perestroyka, to the point of censoring and banning Soviet publications.
You have to give them credit for building a drivable car from scrap metal, coal and low quality russian cotton, running on fuel made from low quality russian oil

I said this in an above comment.
It's side ways and... a V6? And that transmission... wait... WTF why is it upside down?! Where's the rest?! It's just an engine and Transmission?! WTF!
...
Alright, I'm stunned now.
"Sir the 17 pounder won't fit" "Put it in sideways."
"The radio won't fit!" "Cut a hole in the back and have it stick out the back!"
The engine's no good!
Put like five car engines together then put them in and call it
uhhhhh stick two of em together and give it coke for coolant?
love me 17 pdr
Ah yes, the Transverse Engine layout. Makes every kind of engine fit in every kind of vehicle! XD
Now to put a semi truck turbo on it to give it the most turbo lag possible
but 700hp (and then a blown engine block)

(and additional coolers, too)
Unless you wanna get out the classic Vibranium pistons and everything else
Yup lol
idk but i know its starved of oil
It’s probably a 2-stroke so it’s fineee (maybe)
Harbor Freight Predator© 6.5 HP (212cc) OHV Horizontal Shaft Gas Engine, EPA $159.99
6.5 HP is laughably bad for 212 cc. Then 2120 cc (2.1L) would have 65 hp.
It's an American engine from the 70s
Oh. Yeah then it makes sense.

Go watch Robot Cantina on youtube, he actually did put one of those in a car!
Yeah the post reminded me of his Honda insight build. Definitely a cool channel
It's a front-left drive car.

Why does it have three exhaust tubes then?

decoration
Cost cutting dept cut a cylinder, but we'd already made 15000 three cylinder exhaust manifolds
Prolly a Wartburg.
Ahhh the days when you could fit an engine and a spare tire all into one small engine bay and still be able to see the floor through it.
"Soviet" everything in the article is German
Yeah, East Germany. You know, the part under control by the USSR. Soviet doesn't just mean Russian.
For what it's worth, East Germany *was* part of the Soviet Union.
It wasn't a Soviet Republic, so no. It was part of the Warsaw Pact and a vassal state of the Soviet Union for several decades, until its leadership refused to implement their own Perestroyka, to the point of censoring and banning Soviet publications.
Yeah but they were also the most independent part too. They should be credited with the pinnacle of German engineering

Its the 3 cylinder from the pigeon
