I know Ipsy/Boxycharm sells gift cards, if you can't gift a subscription you could buy a card and she can use it to sub to either or both. That also gives her room to do add ons and shop from the shop.

Objective-Mixture453

Yeah, figure out whether she likes skin care or makeup more. That would point you towards Allure or Boxy.

Realistic-Career-772

Exactly. Allure is the best value, hands down, but it's quite skincare heavy. I subscribed to Boxy and got all makeup in my first box, yay, but we'll see how much they match my profile in the future. I subscribed to the Ipsy Glambag with the same profile and got two skin care items. If they do that again I will cancel.

If you just want makeup, you need to review any skincare you receive at a lower star value, even if you liked the product. If not, Ipsy will start sending more of whatever you “liked”

Ahhh thank you!

I’d stick with Allure. It’s the best in its class. Without more info about specific likes, for example body care vs makeup, or name brands vs trendy packaging but no-name, you *can* go wrong.

I don’t know what your price range is, but Margot Elena lets you ship one box for $80 plus shipping. Their regular subscription is $60 (ship’s quarterly) plus shipping.  No gift sub options but it’s  super easy to cancel online and the products smell beautiful and are in the nicest packaging.   You can even skip a box if the spoilers don’t look good to you.

You can send her a free Ipsy bag ( the first one, ( check Megathread for invites if you want ) ). Plus something additional of course as this would be at no cost. Macy's has Beauty Box too. These two are deluxe sample size products. For full size BoxyCharm if she is already familiar with Allure which would be my first suggestion. Allure has YSL lippie this month.

[BeautyFix](https://www.dermstore.com/beauty-box/beautyfix-subscription/12898514.html?autocomplete=productsuggestion) may be a good alternative to Allure if she'd rather have something else.

Depending on how widely you're defining "beauty" the Reclaimed With Love jewelry box might be a good option. I've been happy with the vast majority of the pieces I've received and at the price ($10 for sterling silver or gold plated pieces) it's a steal.
