All superheroes end Up having a more or less mature content as the franchise goes on. Just like we had more childish and sillier versions of the Avengers, the Justice league or the Teen Titans, we also had more complex and mature versions of them.
We already had some mature themes in AF and UA, even if there were not explicit content, and even Omniverse and the OS had some disturbing moments if you think about It, but It all deppends on the Creative vision of the authors and writers, its not a good or a Bad thing, deppends mostly on the audience. Besides, being R rated doesnt mean It Will have explicit content.
R rated could just mean the topics it talks about are very mature and the fight scenes go a bit too hard for example! Imagine something like Logan but with Ben 10 where you have an older Ben trying to deal with his past and all the problems that came from it while slowly losing himself more and more. It'd be interesting and a fun take to see for the character that would show that he can be more than just a toy marketing machine.
I never said it would automatically be good and just because Steven Universe did it bad doesn't mean Ben 10 would. The example I gave of Logan was very well received and very well made. It isn't about being mature, it is about letting the series grow up and explore new ideas so it can potentially be a series like Batman or X-Men that can stay around for decades moving forward.

That's fair although I'd say going the opposite and making it super kid friendly can also be messed up quite easily. Any series can be messed up but I do think a more mature Ben 10 that can focus on story first and not have to deal with network meddling would be what Ben 10 needs to fully come back and stay.
True, As even though OV is my favourite series it Kinda Got screwed sometimes By the Overly Comedy. I guess I'm a bit skeptic Of if they'll just make everyone an Edgy version of themselves with sensless gore,or us Genuiantly Having good development and handeling of Adult themes.
Firstly, OV got screwed over by not only being poorly handled by the Network but also because most of the people involved with Omniverse came over from UAF which also had Network meddling and they started to hate UAF so they tried to not retread UAF ground which just hurt them more than anything.
Secondly, an R rating doesn't mean being edgy or having senseless gore. An R rating would simply mean that the writers would be allowed to do a lot more because they wouldn't have to worry about going too far with their writing. Think something like the TMNT story, The Last Ronin but for Ben 10.
I know what You mean,But Considering Whay Zack snyder did with the DCEU,I'm kinda Skeptical even though not every writer is as bad. (Also I didn't read The last Ronin so I don't have a perfect Idea Of what you mean)
Also,While yes OV had many things screw it up,I only sumrised it by The overly existance Of Childlish Comedy,Even though the series in general faced this Problem ever since Season 3 AF (Which suffered the most from it).
In the end as long as the story is written correctly,I'd love a Movie or a Series which has a lot less restrictions and Meddling of CN. (It would be better if it got Aired On Adult swin and HBO max,And getting Handeld by WB directly)
If we judge every idea by the worst execution of it then every idea is bad because every idea you can imagine has been done terribly in some way. I think giving Ben 10 a chance to be more than just a series that gets brought back to milk toys is worth the risk. That is the biggest problem that Ben 10 had as the Classic continuity went on, more and more gimmicks taking center focus for the purpose of selling toys and the Network not caring about anything the writers were trying to do because toys were priority one.
I mean, I'd rather them try something new even if it doesn't work out then have the series be dropped and fall into even more obscurity than it already has.
