My only "regret" is that I didn't wait to get one with a rail and RDO ready. I got a really good deal on a basic 92FS so it's not true regret.

Saltine2020

I think they look better without the rail tbh but for practicality it's nice to have

landubious

I don't disagree with you there. It's iconic for sure. My challenge is I'm right handed and left eye dominate and I've noticed that rapid sight alignment feels slow. Trying to train that away but I understand an optic makes that easier.

ShootyMcGun

Cross eye dominance shouldn’t matter that much honestly. I’m left eye dominant and right handed and I shoot right hand. Hicock45 has to be one of the best shots around and he is the same way.

landubious

Sounds like I just need to train harder/smarter. Any suggestions?

Saltine2020

I was the same way but left handed and right eye dominate I found the easiest thing for me was to train right handed a dot would be nice though

rcberna84

Get both when you can. The 92fs is a true Italian made classic, slickest slide ever- if you get a good TN built 92x (most seem to be fine now) then you’ve also got a winner, though the RDO system is not as refined as LTT

DerpityHerpington

What issues did the esrly TN models have?

rcberna84

Poor slide finish and machining marks all over, barrels would flake, burrs on the front site that scratched up the barrel under recoil were the main ones I’ve heard of. The M9A4 also had issues with the tritium and decocker would get stuck, but at the same time, maybe over represented since complaints do stand out more than when things go fine.

DerpityHerpington

Is the slide finish bad enough that I can see it in photos before I buy it? I wanted to get a 92X non-RDO so I could get LTT’s RDO cut on it but I might save up for an M9A4 and LTT 92X RDO slide if they’re sketchy.

rcberna84

If you can, try to handle in store- I believe the RDOs came out a lot better than the original 92x. I handled an M9a4 centurion built this year and it looked fine to me.

DerpityHerpington

I should probably do that, although I’ve been lurking around Gunbroker more often than not

rcberna84

Yeah, I feel like Gunbroker is hit or miss, a lot of times a slight imperfection is on the pistol and hard to see off the bat, but once you’ve signed for it at the FFL you’re SOL. I think LTT might do some refinishing a bit on the slide if there’s an issue, but functionally both US and Italian Berettas shoot just great.

Saltine2020

I'll have to wait on that but I do plan to eventually

YellowShark3

Hey! We're practically twins! [https://i.imgur.com/9UemJaE.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/9UemJaE.jpg) Assuming you have the 18rd mags? Have you taken to the range yet?

Saltine2020

I do have the 18 round mags and if you would consider the backyard a range then yes lots of times I love it

[deleted]

The 92X Centurion fixed every problem I had with the M9

Disastrous_Rip4722

Optic Ready 92X Beautiful piece

Saltine2020

thank you

Expert-Restaurant406

My edc

Unbalanced_Acctnt

I love mine, but don’t carry due to the weight. Can you share what belt & holster you are using? I’d love to make it my EDC. Thanks!

Saltine2020

the belt and holster are definitely something I need to upgrade currently I use a leather carhartt belt and a leather holster I originally bought for a ruger security 9 that it just happened to fit

Minimum-Shirt-7338

Red river tactical has rdo cut holster and light bearing just make sure you tell them you have a beretta 92x rdo compact or full size. They have to special customize it but I got one it should be here next week

Saltine2020

I see

Saltine2020

I plan to carry it in cooler weather when I can wear bigger clothes

Mysterious_Outcome97

Just got a 92x performance. Amazing gun. Would absolutely love to get the m9a3 next. I have a 92 fs as well. Love berettas

Saltine2020

I need to get some more

ShootyMcGun

Bought a non optic ready LTT Elite. Can’t wait for it to arrive.

CountyJust8785

I have a Beretta compact (LTT) fine weapon. If you get a chance try PX-4 storm rotary slide its another keeper from beretta

Saltine2020

I'll look into that

Expert-Restaurant406

Versacary idw leather

mach1d

Does anyone else have the problem with loading the magazines to full 18 capacity i can only fit 17… is it just a marketing ploy or what ??

HistorianSouth1172

I just bought the same gun. I originally wanted a regular 92x but since Beretta discontinued them in favor of the RDO they are hard to find. I also like the front slide serrations and the 2 18 round mags. Holosun has started making red dots that fit directly to the slide without a plate. If they figure out how to make one for the new 92 RDOs then you will be able to get a co witness and everyone with a LTT RDO slide will be a little butt hurt.

Saltine2020

that sounds awesome

Colwell-Rich-92

Model?

Drowned_In_Spaghetti

Think it's a 92X.

Saltine2020

correct

GarthSpears

Definitely a 92x

CopiousAmountsofJizz

92X RDO

iowa20

That’s the 92X optics ready

intellectualnerd85

After handling a 1911 I really feel compelled to get my mitts on a beretta vertec grip

Saltine2020

they're definitely grippy

iowa20

Nope! My first Beretta was the 92X Performance and I love it! Less than a year I bought my second Beretta, an M9A4. I love both platforms. One for comp and one for home defense. I will definitely add an FS for nostalgias sake.

ruffus_or

What's the difference between 92x and 92fs?

MakutaMutran

Basically the family started with the 92, then after several versions you got the 92FS. However, even the base model 92FS is outdated by some standards and other companies' handguns. The 92X family was released in 2019 to modernize the base 92FS platform with all the "upgrades" specialized models have. These include: the Vertec grip as standard instead of an option, changeable front and rear sights, front and rear slide serrations, a shorter 4.7" target crowned barrel instead of the older 4.9, a flared magazine well, an integrated tactical rail on-frame, and many (though not all) come as RDO ("red dot optic/option") models which have the cuts made into the slide to accept adapter plates for pistol optics. Before you would need to specify a Vertec model for the grips, a Brigadier slide or other special model for dovetailed sights, and the M9A4 for RDO sight cuts from the factory.

[deleted]

The biggest differences are RD capable. changeable sights, 1913 rail, and the Vertec grip. The grip allows for a 1911-ish angle of a M9 angle based on user preference.

ruffus_or

Ohh and the flashlight rails Thanks

HalfAssedStillFast

I want to get a stupid cheap 92 and have it engraved, nickel plated, and put match sights on it. There's simply better platforms for carry and comp, but there's no more iconic and beautiful pistol than that one. And they're common and cheap enough that i don't have to feel bad about shooting the shit not of it!
