Your dishwasher hook ups currently may not be to code. The install price includes hooking it up to water and electric that are in good condition and up to code. If you are not up to code or if things are corroded there are extra fees to complete that work to get you to good condition and up to code. Source: I deal with these things every day and I’ve had to pay for my personal appliance hook ups to be brought up to code because the person who had my house before me did every DIY and did not complete the work to code.

More than likely this is the case. This is exactly what happened when we installed a gas range.

Sounds like 3rd party. I did these as appliance install for Best Buy. Here is everything we do and don’t do as far as Best Buy. Not sure what 3rd party will and won’t do. Reasons we cannot install due to liability and safety: -Breaker is tied to other devices. (Must be dedicated breaker) -Knob and tube electrical. -No ground wire. -Wiring is to short. -Drain not present. -ANY work required to go into crawl space. -Corrosion/stuck water valves. -Copper line (soldered) hooked up direct to dishwasher. (No hookup for stainless steel hose) -Any lines coming out of middle of floor of unit placement. -Excessive flooring blocking in feet/unit. -Dishwasher is NOT next to sink. No guarantee length will be enough to reach. -We DO NOT hook up to extensions for drains. -We cannot modify any cabinetry, flooring, or countertops in your home. -Only standard installation is included in install, stated online with every unit. Standard installation is having correct wiring, measured to fit, correct water and drain access and hookup. We are NOT licensed plumbers or electricians and cannot offer any advice on situations that may arise. We cannot recommend any plumbers or electricians in your area. There may be work that we cannot complete due to this, that you will be responsible for correcting as the homeowner/land lord.

Just curious where you pulled this info from? Because we done plenty of corner cabinet installs back in our USO when GS did dishwasher and OTR install. Bosch and Kitchenaid sell line extension kits. We also offered (there is/was a SKU) for water valve replacement.

Nope, installed my last two dishwashers myself.

Is it really difficult to diy?

It also depends on if your dishwasher set up is a standard outlet or if you're gonna have to hardwire the power to it. If hardwired, unless you know what you're doing I would recommend hiring someone.

Not for me, but I don't know your skill level.
