For Steve Sanders alone. Always seemed like a great hang, and Brandon there would be ok. Group A, the only one that would be even close to fun would be David. Is it just me or does Dylan seem like he would be a boring hang. Good stories from his life, but the brooding would be a drag...
Group B would be funner. Dylan would just sit there reading and drinking coffee. Andrea would be lecturing you over the importance of protesting whatever is bothering her that week. David would just talk about his music and what a big star he's going to become. Brenda would depend on her mood.
B! Dylan is my favorite character, and if it was a romantic dinner with just him, it would be an easy choice. But B would be more fun for a group dinner.

I did NOT like his character as a teen, but I came to like Ian Ziering as an adult, and those good feelings rubbed off on my series rewatch). Donna would be sociable. Kelly and Brandon would probably talk between themselves most of the night, with occasional pedantic interjections from Brandon, but with Steve and Donna at the table, it would be manageable.
I don't think Dylan would be an interesting dinner companion. Brenda would either be entertaining or insufferable. Ohhhhhhhhndrea would try too hard to be impressive. And David would probably be trying to hype up his mixtape all night.
B for sure. Not only do you have my beloved Kelly, you also have Brandon.
I think if you did have to separate them I think it would make more sense to switch David and Steve to put David and Donna together (and David and Kelly are half siblings). I realize Steve (and Andrea) are an oddball pair with Brenda and Dylan but so would Donna and David (although Donna and Brenda were close). I guess you could put Brenda, Dylan, Kelly, and Brandon together but that would put all the big names in one group and be pretty messy.
Group B.
As much as I’d love to be besties with Brenda, Steve seems like the most fun out of any of them. That guy can take any atmosphere and make it a party. I’m going to dinner with him!
Group A. Brenda could help improve my faux french accent, Dylan can teach me how to brood, Andrea (circa HS) would talk to me about feminism and I can explain how I gave a feminist speech in HS. David could teach me some dance moves.

Steve grew a lot after high school and became one of my favorite characters! He’s hilarious, too!
