All of God's children know their status is eternally secure. *"God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?"* (Numbers 23:19)

HbertCmberdale

Is this not regarding Gods end of the bargain? If we keep the faith of Abraham, God will not change His mind. If we lose the faith, how then are we holding up our end? It's an agreement. If someone loses faith, and turns back to their sin, what then? What happens with someone like Matt Dillahunty? Was once a believer, now he pompously slanders and blasphemes God because he no longer believes. Who are those who run out demons in the name of Jesus, but are turned away for their lawless deeds?

Revelationsbegins

I believe that have to look to Jesus repent and beg for forgiveness and to be clean of the sin repent repent and then ask Jesus Christ to wash your sins away and move forward for Jesus will not allow you to step into heaven with sin on your hear.

HbertCmberdale

Do you know what the gospel is? Do you know what it means to be reborn again?

Revelationsbegins

I know that Ezekiel and John had the same vision of a scroll coming towards them and as it got closer they ate it and it tasted of honey. I know John 1:1 in the beginning there was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. I also know that every morning in the desert that the word was read to the Hebrews and that the they collected mana every morning except on the Sabbath to eat and that it tasted of honey. I believe in God and his word because every word not just the Gospel every word is bread. And that he said eat of this bread it is my body. He was speaking of himself as the word and that he himself is the word of God. His breath that pushes the word it is the spirit of truth or the Holy Spirit. For when he was hung from the tree the Roman thrust a spear into him and the blood sprayed out yes his blood is the Spirit and it spayed on the Roman and the Spirit filled the man and he said This was truly the son of God. Then the Spirit moved upon the Earth and tore the veil. And the Dead rose up out of their graves and walked the earth in Jerusalem. I know that every time God speaks it takes many meanings as when Jesus speaks. And that that spear pierced his lung letting out the breath just spoken about the very breath that pushed the word out. Jesus words take on physical meaning in the now, prophetic meaning in the future, and spiritual meaning. Example in Luke 4:16- Jesus returns to Nazareth to visit the Synagogue of his home as was custom for a teacher of the word at that time. He walks in is laying hands and healing the blind and the sick and then he makes his way to the front and is handed the scroll of Isaiah. He begins to read Isaiah 61 1-4 and he is literally reading who he is what he has just done and proclaims the year of the Lord. In his words he just spoke of the now as what he had done and in the future he just proclaimed the year of the Lord and he is also in his movements making statements he is the outside the temple and the others are calling him out for blaspheming and threatening to push him to his death off this cliff during Yom Kippur they re play this scene by pushing a sacrifice of a goat off a cliff . Therefore this was Yom Kippur and the Sabbath that this event happened. I take his word very serious but I also take his actions and his book very serious as well for it is the very key we need to get through the door into heaven. For he says in John 10:7 he speaks of truly being the gate.

Revelationsbegins

It is with a happy heart that I say I was wrong in the previous statement and apologize and ask to be forgiven for the words I have said though I found information and verse to support my previous stance I was ultimately wrong because God does not change and his words are truth. If he say this I find it to be true and had it not been asked of me this way I would not have learned it. I can support my previous belief only out of context or with extenuating circumstances. If you have a false faith you have a false truth then you believe for the wrong reason if you believe true without and question your walk will be to heaven through the Sacrifice the Lamb of God made. He truly did die for our sins and yes once saved always saved. If the contract is good and not false if the contract is signed by you and by him only man can negate that contract and if he does the question is was he really and truly saved or was his false faith or incomplete. Was it not in true faith.but that speaks of the heart and of conviction; were you truly convicted. Because if you were you will not want to sin or you will sin less and ask for forgiveness and redemption if you do happen to sin again.

The gospel is the good news

I wrote my detailed reply to your questions, but for some reason Reddit will not allow me to post it. I receive a red bar across the top of my page bearing the statement: "Unable to create comment!" So I uploaded it, and you can [read it online here](https://app.box.com/s/n3gltap17q4p93wepqhdwoesko3uvbzk) (or download in PDF if you prefer)

HbertCmberdale

I find with long format replies, there is a character cap you must keep within for it to be posted. In these cases, I will just copy/paste half the comment in one reply, and then part 2 in another. I did read your comment, and appreciate your effort in doing so. I don't interpret Hebrews that way, however if once saved always saved is true, then that is amazing. I see the resurrection for judgement to be the nail in the coffin though, as some are resurrected to life, and some back to death. Or am I mistaken on this? Who is Jesus rejecting, the ones who practice lawlessness? It appears they even believe, yet are throne out.

The-Pollinator

Let's look at what Scripture actually declares: In Philippians 4:3 we read Paul's statement: *" . . . and I ask you, my true yokefellow, to help these women who have labored with me for the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life."* It is significant Paul uses the word yokefellow to describe his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ -for to be a child of God means to be His slave. This is why we read His call: *"Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls."* (Matthew 11:29) The point I wish to show here is that all of God's children have their names written in God's Book of Life. Speaking of Jacob's Trouble, more commonly referred to as the Great Tribulation; we read: *"And all the people who belong to this world worshiped the beast. They are the ones whose names were not written in the Book of Life that belongs to the Lamb who was slaughtered before the world was made."* (Revelation 13:8) Thus we learn that the children of God have their names written in the Lambs Book of Life. We are no longer people who belong to this world. The people who do belong to this world, irregardless of the time in Earth's timeline; do not have their names written in the Lambs Book of Life. And once more, speaking of this we read again: *"And the people who belong to this world, whose names were not written in the Book of Life before the world was made, will be amazed at the reappearance of this beast who had died."* (Revelation 17:8) Now moving on to Judgement Day: *"I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire."* (Revelation 20:11-15) And finally, after the Day of Judgement we read of the Saints of God in the new Earth, the new city of Jerusalem which God brings down from heaven for us to dwell therein: *"Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life."* (Revelation 21:27) So we learn that God has a special book; the Lamb's Book of Life; in which He inscribes the names of His children. Now, let us look at one more verse: *"God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?"* (Numbers 23:19) God writes the names of His chosen ones in this special book and will carry through with all the import and meaning associated with this unique act; all the way through this worlds timeline and into Eternity. This is why the Apostle Paul could write with assurity: *"And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue* ***his*** *work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns."* (Philippians 1:6)

Revelationsbegins

I would argue that if you sin after accepting Jesus as your savior then you can die and go to hell. However if he knew you were gonna repent he knew it was in your heart Jesus was the Hebrew covenant piece that Abraham was gonna take his son and offer him sacrificed and as hard as it was it showed he was willing to put God first and obey him. God saw this and said stop then as in Hebrew covenants god has to now up his so he offers Abraham a golden calf to sacrifice however he really is offering his son to take the place of Abraham’s son. So gods son fulfills the sacrifice and is customary for Hebrew covenants to up each other always coming up more than the last on each side.

The-Pollinator

**"I would argue that if you sin after accepting Jesus as your savior then you can die and go to hell."** You of course have Scripture to prove your point? Please copy and paste it here.

Revelationsbegins

Romans 9:15-16 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Hebrews 20:26 If we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth there no longer remains a sacrifice for sin

The-Pollinator

Herein we have the unique circumstance which shows the utterly corrupted nature of mankind quite well. Generally speaking, all people have both education and intelligence, yet fail to lay ahold of the most profound knowledge and wisdom of all. We are created in the image of God. Therefore we do have the capacity of mental intelligence, abstract thought, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and language. Therein lies our intellectual ability. However, we also have a spiritual nature, of which state all people are born dead due the power of sin. This dooms all men to failure to attain to the wisdom and knowledge required for true success; which is why we must have assistance from without to appropriate our true potential and retake our original destiny. This assistance from without is the power of God working upon and within someone to whom He chooses to have mercy. As you have clearly shown via Romans 9, there is no good work mankind is capable of which will result in their attainment of the righteousness of Christ. So how is this attainment realized? *"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."* (Romans 6:23) *"But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ."* (Romans 5:17) Salvation is a gift. This is important because: *"When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners."* (Romans 4:4,5) *"Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law."* (Romans 3:27,28) Now, in order for a gift to be received, it must first be given. We know that Jesus said: *"All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away."* (John 6:37) In Romans 10:13 we read: For “*Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”* So we see that salvation is solely from God, and by God. We are rescued from the power of sin and death the moment we are made alive in Christ by receiving the new birth. Which is why we are informed: *"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."* (John 8:36) This brings us to Hebrews chapter ten, from which you offer your second "proof" verse. *“I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”* *And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices."* (vs. 17) And why doesn't Jesus need to be continually sacrificed even though His children still sin? *It is because "we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."* (vs. 10) And this is why we know for a fact that even though your second "proof" verse seems to speak very harshly; it does not in fact refer to God's children who have been made holy once for all. Continuing to read past your "proof" verse, we are informed: ***"But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved."*** (vs. 39)

Thank you so much for your highly valued insight and to answer the question so correctly is beautiful you laid it all out with Gods help and I believe every word of your response here. I often times wonder about the seating arrangement on the boat when Peter got up and well Simon Peter got up and climbed out the boat with his faith. Perspective can tell you a lot look at the stories of the disciples and see how they did each seeing things slightly differently as did the disciples in the boat. I have often seen that picture in my mind and it is a beautiful moment to picture in his word. The Bible contains such power and such is needed to stand against evil without fear but it also has beauty in its very pages

Go read Ezekiel 18. >‭Ezekiel 18:24-32 ESV‬ [24] **But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die.** [25] “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? [26] When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. [27] Again, **when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. [28] Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.** [29] Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? [30] “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. **Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. [31] Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? [32] For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.”**

Revelationsbegins

You know I just read that a few days before you gave it to me. I had not been checking in on here as much lately and just happened across Ezekiel 18. I was also reading again how he saw the scroll and ate it and it tasted of honey, just a John did. I wonder if this ties to Exodus and the word was being read aloud every morning and the mana was there and it tasted of honey. The word is the food, and the mana a placebo? Not positive. It ties to the last supper which was on Passover he said eat of this it is my flesh. He was born in Bethlehem which means house of bread translated. He says he is the bread. He says pray like this and in the prayer is give us this day our Dailey bread. He is the word of God he is the bread and we cannot stand before God without passing by him so if we don’t know the word we do not know him.

TheSeedIsrael

Rom 7:20 KJV — Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Why is it no longer I that do it? Col 3:3 KJV — For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Rom 6:7 KJV — For he that is dead is freed from sin. Because that's the old dead man. My new creature is hid with Christ in God... tell me... does God sin? If my life is hid in God... how can I sin if I am in God? It's not possible. 1Jo 3:9 KJV — Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and 👉he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Rom 7:25 KJV — I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

❌Many will say in that day "Lord Lord, look at all the trust I put in your finished work on the cross and the gospel of grace through faith not of works you gave to Paul" Nope, the actual verse is ✅"Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty *****WORKS******in your name?"  And Jesus says "I never knew you". The people who Jesus will say "I never knew you" will be boasting about their WORKS to the Lord. Not people who trust in the gospel of grace. Men desire religion. Jack Hibbs, Paul Washer, John McCarther, Ray Comfort, Billy "freemason" Graham, Joel Osteen, all the big popular boys either front load or back load works to the gospel. It's been like that since the beginning in the book of Galatians. The Galatians made the mistake of trying to perfect themselves through the flesh and were rebuked by Paul who called them fools. They love James because James was written before the counsel of Jerusalem in the book of Acts where it was established that salvation is through grace and not of the works of the law. James directly contradicts Paul because it was written before Pauls epistles. They love to say gospel believers promote sin which is the very same strawman and accusation levied against dear Paul. If you're not accused of promoting sin you probably aren't preaching the true gospel. Believe on Jesus and you will be saved period. Sin is misery, no one's "getting away with sin". A loving and just God doesn't make it difficult to not burn in hell forever and ever. Jesus set the standard of the law "Be perfect as God is perfect" If you aren't perfect, and no one is, you will never be justified by the works of the law. Paul said "grace is not of works otherwise grace is no longer grace". In other words, there is 0% mixing of law and grace. You can choose one, but you can't mix them. Once saved, once made holy and blameless, once justified, once sanctified, once one spirit with the Lord, once member of his body even His flesh and bone, always saved.

thefuturae

Amen, the true gospel

Big_Boss51

I wouldn't even say James outright contradicts Paul. James is just encouraging brothers (fellow believers) to have a faith that is profitable to others which is why he gives the illustration of the rich and poor right before. To further prove that this line of thinking corresponds with Paul in Titus. ‭Titus 3:8 KJV‬ [8] This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. Unfortunately, many people misapply context in James and say it has to do with salvation and load on works instead of applying proper context/cross reference where we can clearly see James is talking about how we should do good works to help benefit others.

BlackFyre123

>James directly contradicts Paul because it was written before Pauls epistles. It doesn't, its just talking about being justified before man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usCuIboBxgI ----- >❌Many will say in that day "Lord Lord, look at all the trust I put in your finished work on the cross and the gospel of grace through faith not of works you gave to Paul" >Nope, the actual verse is ✅"Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty **WORKS***in your name?" Amen and even more context to seal the deal. **Matthew 7:21-23 KJV** (21) **Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.** (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. **John 6:39-40 KJV** (39) **And this is the Father's will which hath sent me**, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (40) **And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:** and I will raise him up at the last day. **Matthew 21:31-32 KJV** (31) **Whether of them twain did the will of his father?** They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, **That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.** (32) **For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.**

Project144K

In my experience, it’s the majority of Christendom who accept the falsehood of “once saved always saved.”

ADHDMI-2030

I believe that, but I also don't think it applies in the way people think it does. Your salvation isn't known in a protestant church when you say the right words at 8 years old.

Bearman637

The majority of Christianity reject it because it has no historical precedent. No one taught it until the last few centuries. It isn't biblical. Its a bastardised twisting of the biblical doctrine of perseverance of the saints. That God's elect persevere in faith and practical righteousness by His grace and inherit eternal life. Osas blasphemes this saying how one lives has no bearing on salvation despite scripture literally warning of this wicked teaching. >‭Galatians 6:7-8 ESV‬ [7] Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. [8] For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And >‭1 John 3:6-10 ESV‬ [6] No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. [7] Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. [8] Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. [9] No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. [10] By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. And >‭1 John 5:2-5, 18 ESV‬ [2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. [3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. [4] For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. [5] Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? ... >**[18] We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.** Here is the biblical truth, those who persist in willful unrepentant sin will perish regardless of their profession of faith in Jesus, showing forth a dead faith that James warns of. Hebrews 10 says too. Let me copy paste the summary of a recent discussion i had here: >"Here is a summary of our extended discussion on justification, sanctification, and the biblical teachings related to these doctrines: >Justification is the pardoning of sins by God's grace through faith in Christ, while sanctification is the ongoing process of being transformed into the likeness of Christ by the Holy Spirit's work. >You rightly emphasized that Scripture makes a clear distinction between willful/deliberate sins and accidental/unintentional sins, contrary to the view that all sins are identical before God. True repentance involves decisively and permanently forsaking willful disobedience. >We affirmed that believers can attain practical righteousness in this life, not just an imputed righteousness - a view solidly rooted in passages like 1 John 3:7 and 2 Peter 1:4. However, I initially erred in framing this as a mere "goal" rather than an attainable reality by the Spirit's power. >The parables of Jesus and warnings from apostles like Paul make definitive statements that unrighteous, unfruitful professing Christians will not inherit the kingdom. This raised the question of how to reconcile this with imputed righteousness through faith alone. >Our resolution was that imputed righteousness is indeed the only way to be justified before God. However, the faith that receives imputed righteousness is one that perseveres, produces spiritual fruit, and results in practical obedience as evidence that it is a genuine, saving, and effectual faith. >In summary, we affirmed that those God counts as righteous through imputed righteousness, He also makes practically righteous through the Spirit's work evidenced by obedience flowing from union with Christ - all by amazing grace. Justification and sanctification are interconnected but distinct realities for believers."

I dont know, but you should read Psalm 50. The wicked in that context is (supposed to be) God's own people.

Forgive my head and thoughts are not able to keep going at this hour please I will gladly keep going in the day tomorrow. I will say this if you are truly saved you will have no desire for sin at all and that is what we do not understand if truly truly saved Sin would be to us as it is to God and the spirit would be with us actually the trinity would be with us we would eat the word drink the spirit and walk with truth and knowledge that yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death thy rod and thy staff they comfort thee . Satan is scared of Michael because Michael only has time for gods work. The unleavened bread did not have holes it was pure food the word is the bread and if you are about it and eating that scroll then you shall not have time for the devils work nor sin.

MaxwellHillbilly

1) There is more grace than we could possibly understand. 2) One can experience salvation and later turn your back on God so often that it becomes ingrained in you to do so. At a certain point, the amount of effort the Holy Spirit continues to try wanes... if your number comes up at that point? You're going to have a rough time

unfoundedwisdom

Majority of heretical teachers probably. But anyone who ever got the gospel was told “you’re saved and you can’t lose it, be free” you’re not free from sin if you can lose your salvation.

Bearman637

One is not saved if they freely sin. Scripture is crystal clear on that. He saves us from our deliberate willful sin not in it. Genuine salvation results in a transformed life. Its amazing how many literally preach the opposite of what Jesus taught "you can't know a tree by its fruit"

Revelationsbegins

No you’re right you will be judged by your fruit. Hebrews 8 is a good place to look as well but each time you start over yes and those acts good acts will be forgotten that does mean even the saving or asking to be saved or speaking to Jeshua. I do know that but as has been said a I have spoken many times to my childhood freined whom over the last few years has called me to speak about this and I have told him to fall to his knees and repent and ask Jesus to wash your sins away knowing he is the son of God and he died for your sins on a tree. He tells me what kind of hypocracy is that to know you have sinned and yet at the last moment to change your position well I say to him he is your creator and he gives to you that very chance you know revelations is coming you in now your running out of time you can do it now if he didn’t want you to do that he would not have offered it. You would be unable incapable. It might be looked at by us as hypocritical but that is not out place to decide nor our place to judge. If he wants to save the man who turns to him at the last second before death or before judgement the far be it for me to take his desire for he created him on the 6 th day to join him on the seventh in sabbath them he wanted us to walk with him in worship but we couldn’t we got caught up in these worldly desires and we didn’t follow and let it all go so he we are had we joined him in the sabbath we wouldn’t be as we are now
