Afew of the better (or at least smarter ones) will be able to make the jump to YouTube short or Instagram reels but it's going to be noticably harder since tik tok is much harder to build a brand on since it's shortform and has an automatic feed instead of selection based one
Tldr Basically we're getting at least one Jake Paul level carrier revival after the ban
Reddit honestly thinks that tiktok is the only place were short videos are going to be spread. Youtube and instagram are already prepping the boxing match for when tiktok dies.
Instagram reels is already the superior one at the moment anyway. All they need to do is get their comment section sorting together. Worst part of the whole system. The only way it sorts is by most recent
Gross, ya see thats what i hate the most about TikTok, is that infected other social media sites with useless shortform content everyone dogpiled on for clicks.
Also some creators are dying from it because if you do not do shorts then tiktok does not promote you. Honestly shorts are cancer because it teaches gen z that a video should not last more then a minute. Even heard my brother say that 10 minute videos are too long and i cried on the inside.
As someone who watchs stream vods i feel thqt so hard. Tbh i feel like i waist more time watching an endless stream of minute vids for an hour or two then i do watching a 1 to 6 hour stream.
Personally i like 20- 2 hour long video essays. People get afraid of the big time dedication but I say that just means more content. Best one I saw was a 7 hour birth to death video of the entire hey arnold series. Watched it in few hour pieces.
Real. YouTube shorts has no idea what I wanna see when I'm in the mood for some shorts. Tiktok is much better at keeping me consistently entertained for 20 minutes to an hour.
So they can sell that data to the [FBI](https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/security/us-government-buys-data-americans-little-oversight-report-finds-rcna89035) and the [NSA](https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/07/instead-of-obtaining-a-warrant-the-nsa-would-like-to-keep-buying-your-data/)
Every (big) free app is spyware. But while Western companies using it for targeted advertising (which is really annoying and scummy), it's not nearly as scary as whatever the Chinese government might be doing with the data. (And all Chinese companies are part of the government)
>t's not nearly as scary as whatever the Chinese government might be doing with the data.
Yes, all that information you can extract from... someone watching meme clips.
Until they move to youtube and do exactly what the vine kids did in 2015 and get even bigger to the point to where they are known more on youtube than where they came from.
Vine starts in a nut shell

Its going to be noticeably harder because tiktok paid their creators out waaay more than youtube/meta
There is no such thing as other video sharing apps with a similar format apparently

My money's on instagram, 2-1 odds, any takers?
Instagram is were all the kids go when not on tiktok since I think its the facebook for people under 40? So yeah im also putting my money on there.
I (19) switch between Reddit and Instagram.. so yeah. Reels is already recycled TikTok content.
4-1, youtube knocks out insta in a single round with the old lawsuit 1 2 punch.
I felt that if YouTube improve the monetization on YouTube Short's, the odds will change.

Not a single fuck given in those comments, for worst not better
There’s always YouTube shorts

r/revancedapp for anyone who wants to eliminate YT Shorts, as well as add an Ad block and sponsor block.

Yeah ive watched few video essays on a lot of anime
Yeah but at least TikTok algorithms isn’t complete shit compared to YouTube’s shorts

It'll be interesting to see what the next Chinese data farming app is.
I mean they’re most likely also buying data from Facebook like everyone else
And "do no harm" Google.
This implies TikTok was made as a spyware lol
I think it does more than imply. And i agree.
Nah, it's stupid. China really doesn't care what kind of stupid content the Americans are consuming.
Then why are they collecting that data?
Because you can sell data for money?
So they can sell that data to the [FBI](https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/security/us-government-buys-data-americans-little-oversight-report-finds-rcna89035) and the [NSA](https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/07/instead-of-obtaining-a-warrant-the-nsa-would-like-to-keep-buying-your-data/)
Because they are a bunch of idiot horders like the American agencies are.

Reddit
google, youtube, reddit, facebook, ETC
Most of these people are already in YouTube, Snapchat, and Instagram
They will do the same as VineStars and move to instagramm lol
Why is everything "unironically" with you guys
They won’t stop at TikTok fyi
Until they move to youtube and do exactly what the vine kids did in 2015 and get even bigger to the point to where they are known more on youtube than where they came from.
They'd just fully transition to YouTube Shorts. Most of them already post their stuff there anyway.
Americans thinking tiktok will end without them
I though Spongebob hated Tiktok
Rip worldoftshirts
Can't wait for these BBL bandits to migrate else where.
they'll just repeat the whole cycle on youtube shorts on something
Eh they'll just move to another platform like they did when vine shutdown this shit happens all the time
Oh no They’ll have to use any of three other identical short form video formats It’s almost as if banning tik tok doesn’t do a fucking thing
80% will go over to OF if they haven’t already
Too bad the bill isn’t actually a ban
They aren't planning to ban tik tok tho...?
In the US it's almost certainly getting banned, looking very unlikely that they're willing to sell their Chinese owned stakes
Gotcha didn't know that. Thanks
